About Lightning Web Browser +

Lightning Browser Plus is a simple, fast web browser that focuses on design, security, and efficiency. It uses material design, doesn't track you, give you lots of options to protect your privacy. It gets out of the way of the user. I built this browser because I wanted something better.

What this contains over the free version:
● Unlimited open tabs
● Adblocking

● Design - Lightning's interface was carefully crafted so you can browse as efficiently as possible. Tabs and Bookmarks are all tucked neatly away in side drawers, only a swipe away, allowing maximum screen viewing with minimal interference from the browser's chrome. Dark Mode, Light Mode, Color Mode, Night Mode... Anyway, whatever you like, there's a mode for you.

● Speed - By utilizing the WebKit rendering engine that comes built into your Android device, Lightning can ensure a swift, lightweight experience.

● Privacy - Use Incognito Mode to browse without leaving a footprint, download Orbot and turn on TOR proxy support to mask your identify and location, use StartPage or DuckDuckGo for your search engine, or disable settings that you think leave you at risk. Whatever your concern, Lightning will try to help.

● Features - Full-screen, check. AdBlock, check. Inverted Rendering, check. All the search engines you want, check. Search Suggestions, Bookmarks, History, User Agents, Reading Mode, whatever you need, Lightning does it.

● Open-source - Just as Android open-source, so is Lightning. I believe that the best software is built when communities come together to engineer the best solution. Head over to the repository on GitHub to contribute or translate.

Permissions
● permission.INTERNET: Needed to access the internet for browsing
● permission.WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Needed for downloading files and backing up data
● permission.READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE: Needed for downloading files and restoring data
● permission.ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION: Needed for sites that want your location (you can deny location access)

Hands down the best browser on the play store! Even on a flagship device, this ultra lightweight, yet feature packed browser runs laps around bloated browsers like Chrome, Firefox, Opera and Dolphin. 10/10, would recommend

T70%
by T####:

This is the first and only app I have ever reviewed and that's because it is a masterpiece. Fastest, most intuitive browser I've tried out of all of them. My tablet is pretty weak and Lightning Browser improved my web experience exponentially.

T70%
by T####:

First off, I would like to say thank you so much for continuing the development of the app and putting a lot of hard work into it. Second, I have a request. Can you move the address bar, settings, etc down to the bottom and introduce it as an option. I would really appreciate it.

T70%
by T####:

It's ok. Switching between normal and private mode is confusing, and there's no way to go back to normal mode when a private tab is open. Fast, smooth, and its settings are very complete.

T70%
by T####:

Used to be great, now no longer loads webpages properly if at all. Completely unusable in its current state, which is a shame because lightweight ad-blocking browsers are a rare breed.

T70%
by T####:

I got this browser to use with i2p, but it doesn't seem to recognise the .i2p domain. I can open links to i2p sites but can't type them into the address bar.

T70%
by T####:

Big bug recently with back button: instead of going back to the previous page, it goes back to the previous site... Lightning is almost unusable as it is ????

by O####:

As the Dev. says: Try the Free Version first. If you like it, then consider installing the Plus version for the additional features. DEVS: Thanks for having a (User Agent) Desktop option. Samsung Galaxy TAB-4 8.0" Tablet (Android 5.1.1), Samsung Galaxy Mega 6.3 phone, Android 4.2.2.

I've one issue with this app damn slow now doesn't pick up the website pages fast at all got important to make

T70%
by T####:

There is an issue with the back button, it now closes the app instead of going back.

J70%
by J####:

i uninstalled this app bcoz it gave me pop up ads that keep appearing on my screen and redirecting me to apps in playstore. i wasted my money.

T70%
by T####:

Hy! I think I found a small bug. When I switch to desktop view, the small monitor icon is not tinted any colour.

T70%
by T####:

I've tried contacting the dev via email regarding an issue, and they don't respond. Because of that, 1 star

T70%
by T####:

App crashes, doesn't run on Android 7.0 Blackview 8000

H70%
by H####:

Perfect for older phone with android 4.2 and low memory. Very quick with adbock, web pages load in half the time.

U70%
by U####:

Is worse off than other "low bandwidth" type browsers. Just save your dollar and download a free one instead.

Q70%
by Q####:

Text reflow doesn't work. I want my money back. :(

V70%
by V####:

Errors galore! Lose money pages rarely loads Error Error Error!

G70%
by G####:

Used now for over 2 years daily and it is fantastic, no bloated browser here, fast and reliable and Dev is very active in updating.

R70%
by R####:

Not fast any more... Try ecosia browser.

T70%
by T####:

It leaks Webrtc, can u fix it?

T70%
by T####:

Inverted colours + dark themes + TEXT REFLOW = excellent browser

T70%
by T####:

Used to be really good. Needs updated as most search links from google result in blank page with google.services in the address bar.

T70%
by T####:

I've used this for a year now, I wont user another browser. It's so light and fast, I love it.

T70%
by T####:

Thank you for the browser. It's best on a google market.

T70%
by T####:

This was a very worthwhile purchase. Kudos to the dev for making such a lightweight, yet powerful browser

Q70%
by Q####:

It needs to be updated. It doesn't block most of the ads

L70%

Wont open up fiew website i usually browse...

T70%
by T####:

Can't download images anymore. Please fix.

U70%
by U####:

Love it! WELL worth the money for the full version. I came for the ad-blocking, and stayed for everything else. It really is as quick as lightning, super light on system resources, and easy to navigate. I do miss some of the gestures from Chrome (particularly the "swipe down to view tabs" gesture), but that's just an issue of retraining my brain. A+!!

T70%
by T####:

There's an awful bug that doesn't allow you to use the space bar if you want to type a search term from the url box. Ruined the whole experience for me. There's free browsers like Dee Browser that are the same as this one, but without awful bugs. I can't believe this a paid app

G70%
by G####:

The developers are either idiots or lazy. The ad blocking feature blocks entire websites or important page content and works terribly. If you try to use adguard at alleviate this you'll get hundreds of "untrusted certificate" notifications every time you go to a different web page. Regret buying it.

T70%
by T####:

I used to like this one, but lately out has become unusable. Search results from Google just show up as a page of xml, among other rendering issues, and the back button just reloads the page instead of going back to the previous page, which is just maddening. Cannot recommend in this state.

T70%
by T####:

Worked perfect until a few weeks ago. Then browsing experience slowed down/surfing with lightning didn't work anymore. First thought it's my connection, but other apps and browsers worked just fine. Would like to continue to use and support the browser, maybe dev can help. LG G3, Android 6.0

T70%
by T####:

I love the look and UI for this app but I got it for the unlimited tabs and at currently over 50 tabs, the pages take upwards of ten minutes to fully load. Smooth sailing so long as I don't leave the app at all for even a second. Makes it virtually unusable. Idk maybe it's my device processor, but I've not had this problem in other browsers (but I also don't like them as much D: ) Hoping for a magic update that fixes this.

T70%
by T####:

Great browser, my daily driver for a long time now. Lightweight and still feature packed. Bug with the latest version: sometimes pressing back (on the phone, not within the browser) goes back 2 webpages rather than 1... Extremely annoying, please fix...

I70%
by I####:

Really great browser in many aspects! But there are some severe bugs. Mainly with opening links. Sometimes I have to click multiple times or reload the tab. Other times it just doesn't open the link at all. Other than that this browser would be really amazing.

T70%
by T####:

Good work. Thanks, I found the back button. this is still the best browser, and mobile design. It promotes PRIVACY, doesn't skimp on features that really matter, and JUST WORKS. At this point, I can't ask for a better browser. Has everything I want, and nothing I don't want. Permissions are great, and love Duck Duck go integration, and Tor friendly is important. Thanks again.

Y70%
by Y####:

Would be 5 stars except for the bugs.... For example in incognito tab you cannot type in an address without the cursor jumping out of the field. Had made it unusable

U70%
by U####:

Used to be great until a recent update. Now when using the back button, it goes back 2-3 pages instead of just one. This makes the browser almost unusable as I have to keep navigating backwards using "history" instead.
