About Food Journal

ABOUT THE APP:
Keeping track of what you eat has been shown to help prevent and stop over-eating.

This app helps you control your diet and eat healthier, by making it easy to track what you eat. The design is optimized to make entry as quick as possible, with 1 click entry, and recent food suggestions. The built in database already has thousands of food items and if yours are not known, adding them is easy.

FEATURES:
1. A simple and powerful design: The app opens directly on the entry screen, on the most recent meal, because that is what you'll use most. The design makes adding entries as simple and intuitive as possible.
2. One tap entry with personalized suggestions: The most common food items can immediately be selected. Starting on the second day, your recent items are suggested because you may eat the same food frequently.
3. Logging in is not needed: No personal data or contact information is required.
4. Thousands of items already in the database: Most food items have accurate information about common serving sizes, calories, carbohydrates, protein and fat.
5. Full off-line support: No need to be connected to the internet.
6. Precise entry is also easy: You can accurately enter the precise amount using a slider.
7. Daily reports: Using the menu, you can directly open the diary, which shows a summary of your day. Here you can switch between calories, protein and carbohydrates by pressing on little triangle.
8. Personal reminders help you stay on target: They are a convenient way to make sure you fill out your diary, after each meal, or at the end of the day.

It is a good idea to verify the information in the database is the same as the information on your food packaging; food nutrition fluctuates with brands and over time.

Make sure to discuss your goals with your doctor or nutrition specialist.

Interface isn't even that good, you're basically getting convenience of automatic generic calorie counting. Limits many common items such a "cheese slice" until you pay. Terrible app

Useful app

The App does what I want it to in calculating calories and Macros, and I like the simplicity in it... IMO, a few thing could be changed. 1- Possibly an option to set macros at a certain percentage (off of total calories) instead of calculating the macro wieght . 2- a couple of saved user settings so I can swap from a normal diet day to Refeed day (and also remember all input/recent foods for all meals) ... 3- the App is user friendly for the most part, even though it is buggy at times...

It has the pre-defined values and you can add your own. What is brilliant is the sliding scale you can use to adjust the calories to the exact amount. Eg their biscult comes up 70 calories the biscult packet I'm reading says 90 I just move the sliding scale up. The reminders are a good idea as well :-)

Lots of locked and/or redundant foods. I can't figure out how to edit yesterday's foods. But it is nice to be able to add in new foods. I am only using it to track what I eat (I have ibd, so a food journal is strongly advised), so I actually wish there were a way to turn calorie logging off (unnecessary details).

okay what I like and don't like about this app regardless of the times you said to eat meals once that time is past you can never go back and say oh yeah I forgot I had a slice of cake with dinner it's really pretty stupid that you can't keep an accurate record once the time is fast I'm trying to enter Breakfast at 10:30 in the morning and it enters it as my lunch I'm going to look for a better and I'm sorry that I'm sorry to give you a bad review but this thing is aggravating.

A great app for tracking what you're eating and the nutrients you are receiving. Probably not as good for dieting but I specifically use this to make sure I'm getting enough protien.

Easy to use, many foods already loaded and options for adding home made items. The list is in a seemingly random order which would be easier if alphabetical (except for prev days items). Would also love an area for daily notes.

I'm trying put on serious muscle and this allows me to make sure I am consuming enough protein, carbs, and healthy fats that my body needs.

I use this app to remind myself to eat. I eat whatever i feel like, and that is often a big plate of pasta (many more ounces than recommended). I do a very physical job, and often do not have time between shifts for a meal. Reminder that you have more than one type of client.

It's very good about keeping track the only problems are is if you have a phone that has problems and you have to reset it it doesn't stay programmed in the phone for when you restart the phone backup and the other is it doesn't always have the calories that would be a nice additives to this app other than that is a great app

Ads ruin everything. Therefore ill just write down my logs.

I needed something simple to hold a list of what I eat each day. It's nice that it'll count calories and give me an estimate of my fat, carb and calorie ratio per day. Wish I could go back and add to previous days without having to upgrade.

The calorie and etc values all seem quite off, but user submitted is great. Wish there was a display to show you budgets for macros instead of just the bar graph.

I like that you can add foods that are not on the list or combine your meal with the ingridients in the list. And also the option to buy in order to have all variations of food. It's also convinient to use.

So easy to use basic but no ads and customisable! If I still like it as much in a week I'll purchase it my first app so it's proof it's good because I've yet to be persuaded that something is worth buying! A first!

There's a lot of preloaded food and drinks. Plus you get a favorites category, like everyday items . Some items have to purchased to get nutrition facts but you can impute them yourself for free.

It gives you all the calories and amounts but sometimes the calories aren't the right amount. Lots of choice, but some foods are locked in the app so you can't select them

Great. I just don't get why there's locked foods. But although there's locked foods there's plenty of alternative options that go along with what I ate.

Very very nice and simple app, simplicity is its strenght. I love the daily reminders for remembering to insert entries in the diary. I would like to have the possibility to keep track of my weight too, a simple entry for daily weight and a chart for seeing weekly or monthly progress, as food journaling and weight control often go hand in hand. I use a second app for weight only, but if I could have it into this app, it would be 5 stars for me!
