This application is designed to use the text to speech (TTS) and the speech recognition features of your Android device.
It was created with deaf and/or mute people in mind, so they can communicate with others without the need for sign language or lip reading.
It has a very simple interface, with large lettering for those that are visually impaired.
It is FREE! and it contains NO ADVERTS!
This app was developed to use your device's NATIVE language. In other words, it should work in whatever language you have your phone set to.
If you have problems getting it to "Speak", make sure you have a text-to-speech engine installed on your device such as Pico TTS.
If you have problems getting it to "Listen", check you have an internet connection available (WiFi or 3G data enabled) so that it can connect to the Google recognition services.

I loaded it; but when I open it I get an error message that Virtual Voice has stopped. I reported the error. I uninstalled and tried again - still same message. :-( Could use this if it worked.

Great app. I have Parkinson's and have virtually lost my voice completely. I would like to have a male voice and the ability to slow the tempo down. Found the voice control and worked out the male voice. Thanks for this its worth 5 stars

I like to see voice switch. I want my to have male voice. Some words have problem not picking name as Ms Hall or Mr. Othon. Hopefully in the future it will be done.

I'm deaf and autistic, and this app has enabled me to communicate in situations where I'm mute, cannot hear people in conversation properly or if I'm speaking to non-signers. The only drawback is that Virtual Voice doesn't work on my tablet (which is a Nexus 9) but only works on my phone. Thank you to the designer. It's a fantastic app!

Right now I've laryngitis, so as you can imagine an app that helps me save my voice is exactly what I was looking for. Works great on my Galaxy Tab3 7.0 and scanned clean with "Dr.Web". Thanks and I'll be donating add soon as I've some spare green.

I am mute due to a stroke, this app is so wonderful!! I can now free myself from just written word that someone reads. This app is much better than the apps I paid for on my ipad. I thank the developer for this Beautiful voice!

I am removing this app. If you are hard of hearing-do not use this. My voice has been defined as clear and easy to understand. This mis quoted several short sentences. The worst voice recognition I have tried. I was looking for an app that would assist my hard of hearing/deaf clients. This is not it.
