A team leader sends a message to the administrating phone which in turn relays the message out to the network of volunteers, who are registered with the admin.
The message (eg, in an emergency response: supplies needed, assistance needed, coordinating movements, routing) sent out is personalised by the leader( eg, chairman, coordinator, doctor etc). The message recipients will then respond either by a personal text or by a call to the leader (if need to). The leader can continue communication with regards to the emergency situation.
- Fast and easy access to a network of volunteers , particularly crucial during emergencies (eg. natural disasters).
- To overcome communication problems by reaching to a wider crowd in remote areas where wifi is not available.
- This app reaches out fast - a crucial factor to consider during critical situations.
- To have an overall assessment of resources, situations, volunteers numbers, etc
With the use of the administrative phone, the leader only needs to send one message instead of many personal ones. The administrative phone relays the message automatically, alerting the network. This broadcast is therefore, a one way communication to avoid spams and wrongful use.
For the leader to be in control of the network, text "I am leader" to the admin phone. Therefore, many leaders can be linked. For a volunteer to receive messages, text “JoinRescueTeam" to the admins phone to be part of the network. For the member to quit, text "Quit" to the admin’s phone.
