The Emergency App Bergrettung Tirol operated by Leitstelle Tirol GmbH has been especially developed for emergencies in alpine regions in Tyrol, therefore it can be used in Tyrol only. The app enables – in case of acute emergency - the transmission of the own location (GPS coordinates) to Leitstelle Tirol GmbH at the push of a button, at the same time it establishes a telephone connection to Leitstelle Tirol GmbH as well. In succession the required emergency services will be alarmed and dispatched through Leitstelle Tirol GmbH.
IMPORTANT: Minimum requirement Android version 2.3
In the open country the location of casualties is difficult and their detection is time-consuming. Since the Emergency App Bergrettung Tirol operated by Leitstelle Tirol GmbH identifies the location of the person concerned by using the cell phones integrated GPS-receiver and automatically transfers the coordiantes to Leitstelle Tirol GmbH, the emergency scene can be located faster and more precisely. Hence Bergrettung Tirol can be guided to the casualties quickly and exact achieving a faster rescue. The parallel telephone connection allows to clarify the emergency situation and to support the person concerned in coping with the acute situation.
The Emergency App Bergrettung Tirol operated by Leitstelle Tirol GmbH is intended for nature lovers and recreational athletes in Tyrol enjoying outdoor activities in the open country or in the mountains and who are in use of a smartphone with an operating system from Android or iOS. It is the only emergency app that´s connected directly to Leitstelle Tirol GmbH. Leitstelle Tirol GmbH is the central emergency dispatch center of Tyrol that alarms and dispatches the mountain rescue service, the emergency rescue service and the air emergency as well as the fire brigade.
The main functions of the app in case of emergency are:
• Automatic transfer of personal and location (GPS) data to Leitstelle Tirol GmbH via internet or SMS
• Establishing of telephone connection to Leitstelle Tirol GmbH
