This app didn't work for me until I went into aircraft mode first then used my Settings menu to connect to Wi-Fi. If I used the Wi-Fi shortcut my phone would exit aircraft mode and the app didn't work. Would be nice if the app could warn you of this, but once I got the process right the app worked fine.

It's astonishing how bad this app is. Video won't play on my Nexus 10 (vanilla Android) _ "DRM initialisation error". And music can't play in the background - as soon as you switch apps or turn off the screen the music stops. Beyond belief.

Requires browser sign-in to Wi-Fi, and browser then offers the same options as the app. The app stops playing as soon as sent to the background or the phone screen is switched off. The app keeps the screen at full brightness, even when playing music, consuming battery unnecessarily. In short, unusable.

The app itself works fine on my S7 Edge. All content plays without issue. What I can't understand is why the longest domestic flight in Oz doesn't use a plane with a built in entertainment system. So now I'm on a five hour flight stuck watching media on my phone without even a USB port to keep my device topped up. Poor form Qantas.

The concept behind the app relies on fully-charged devices, and one device per person. If you're travelling with low battery, you're stuffed. If you're travelling with two small children and only one phone, you're stuffed. So even if the app itself is functioning well (which it doesn't), the whole notion of it is flawed. I'm sick of paying Qantas-level prices for Jetstar-level services.

DRM initialisation error. Doesn't play video. So I get stuck with an iPad mini after the website suggests bringing your own device and I choose my 10" tablet. This was the only reason I packed it. Then two different mobiles. Rubbish. Air staff have no idea. Tried both q streaming connections on all devices. If you're going to take away the screen, at least replace it with a usable option.

Got something against LG G4? My wifi works in airplane mode and the app won't play any videos, it just gives a white box with the word "cancel". Good programming guys.

All entertainment worked on my moto android fine. I did encounter the "reconnect to wifi" message every 30 minutes or so, but I will happily put up with that to finally be able to use my noise cancelling earphones with the in flight entertainment, without having the intercom announcements partially deafening me.

Nexus 6p won't play video or music. Connection and browsing is fine. Attempt to watch anything pops up an empty dialogue box with only a Close button. Virgin app works perfectly .....

The app is broken (crashes after selecting file). Using a Google phone (Nexus 6P) with pure Android (7.0) ... should be bullet proof. Less fun on a 4.5 hr flight.

Connected to in-flight Q streaming wifi, but attempting to play any video only resulted in an empty dialog box with no explanation of the problem. Engaged and disengaged in the space of a few minutes... Waste of my time.

This app is pure genius. It warns you if you are about to start a movie longer than the remaining flight time. Auto pauses when an announcement is being made. Let's you see the remaining flight time. Navigation, loading, and quality is smooth, refined, responsive.

The app will load and show you all the available programs etc but crashes every time you try to play something. If you connect to the in flight web site it says that the "device is not supported". My Google Pixel C can't get any more "android" since it is pure android directly from Google.

Qantas seems determined to save costs at the expense of all else - including safety, customer service and on-board experience. When they provided individual screens there was a usb port to plug in your device. Now they expect you to use your own devices but offer no way of charging it. It seems the app developers have never owned a smart phone. The volume is so quiet that you have to press the headphones against your ears to hear anything. The selection is pathetic. Qantas, you have become a joke.

They advised us to download d app to watch movies but it doesnt work on my Sony Z3 compact phone... Asked d air stewardess for help n she said she couldnt do anything bout it wat crappy reply... Useless through n through im better off bringin a laptop n dvds!!!

Agree with Robert Walker. Difficult to download. Tried my tablet, no go. Have it on my phone, won't work. Maybe if they spent their money wisely to get at least one app to work as promised, it might be a start. One star is one star to many

Have used on both my ipad and Samsung S5. No issues and with a full battery lasted from melb to perth with 40% battery to spare. People having issues need to put the device in FLIGHT MODE before connecting to wifi. Took off 1 star for the omission of usb charging in J and Y class on the 737. Otherwise a good concept with lots of different types content to get through.

When it works this app is great. It used to work on my Nexus 9 tablet but stopped working after upgrading to Android 7. Still works on my Samsung Galaxy S6 running Android 6.

The connectivity issue some are presented with requires you to select "use network as is" from your browser (where it makes you sign in).. Otherwise the app won't show movies, tv shows etc.

App installs perfectly fine, the app launches well and loads up all movies and shows whilst on the flight. You sit, reassured on their flight that you'll be able to watch the latest releases. Then you'll find out that all of those shows are in fact unwatchable due to an error accepting the S5 modeland possibly others. Do not rely on this service.

If your going to have a streaming service on-board your planes where is the charging option!!!! Maybe support all phones, Sony Z3s shouldn't be an issue, but no you can't do that either!! Can't believe you think that you are providing a premium service to your customers. I hope to never buy a Qantas ticket again...!!!!!!!.

Installed on tarmac immediately before departure at suggestion of flight staff and enjoyed best on-board film viewing experience with quality sound and image - I suspect others have conflicts from cluttered device settings and installed apps...

Despite meeting prerequisites and following instructions I couldn't use video through the app (DRM initialization error). No help, no FAQ. Could access music, however the player needs the screen active to play music (!). If you dim the screen using phone controls it stops what's playing and send it back to the beginning. It's also difficult to manually skip ahead. New movie titles are listed twice in tile search which adds clutter. Terrible user interface design.

Couldn't get WiFi to connect on 2 flights. The iPads that are provided are much better, but only one of my flights had the iPad. Please provide iPads on all flights instead of the broken app

Ok i see lot of hate on this app but you have to travel with Qantas in order to use this app when i was on board it worked perfectly! It keeped me entertained whilst onboard !

Update: Still not fixed!! Looks promising to start with but then comes up with a DRM failed message if you try to play anything. If it doesn't work on certain devices why not have a compatibility list?? Or maybe just fix the problem! - Update: still not working on the one plus one!

It's incredible how such a respectable company as Qantas made such a terrible app available for the public. The app simply crashes whenever I try to launch anything (movie, radio, etc) As if being in a aircraft with no entertainment was not frustrating enough.

If you lock the screen and are listening to music the audio stops. Video constantly crashes the app on marshmallow android Nexus devices

Tried to watch a movie on the flight, however the image quality is distorted, and unviewable. Audio works great, but video doesn't.
