About SunSmart

The SunSmart app lets you know when you need sun protection across Australia and when its safe
to get some sun for vitamin D, making it easier than ever to be smart about your sun exposure all
year.

With a few clicks, you can find a 7 day weather forecast, the UV level and sun protection
times for your local area in Australia so you will always be prepared for the day ahead.

Personalise the sun protection alert to remind you of the daily sun protection times, either at a
time of your choice or when the UV reaches a level where sun protection is required.

Use the vitamin D Tracker to find out if you are getting enough UV exposure to help with your
vitamin D levels

Sun protection times are issued daily by the Bureau of Meteorology.

App does not load after installation. Waste of time. Lots of similar complaints from other people and they still haven't fixed it

R70%
by R####:

Widget is poor and buggy (sometimes clickable others not) and needs more info and better notifications in the app. Work with BOM to create an all in one weather and UV app? Makes more sense

R70%
by R####:

Not practical. Tells me i need sun protection when the uv is 0.8. Has a whole section on: do i need suncreen where you fill in skin type and length of exposure. ..but no matter what you put in it gives the same answer. What is the point.

Y70%
by Y####:

Great idea but only works for one day after installation. I even uninstalled it and reinstalled it and the same thing happened. It worked very well the first time but the next day when I tried to open it it just kept trying to load it but never actually finished. The 'loading UV information ' box blocked all of the information and I was not able to navigate to any other pages on the app.

I would love to give this app 5 stars, as it is a very practical concept. However, the widget is of bad design, and the warning times are cut off. A widget designed like the main screen (with circles, warning times and current uv) would be perfect. Also, more specific locations (e.g. inner suburbs have higher intensity than the coast, but may be part of the same city). The notification should show burntimes without having to expand it too. I rely on this app for Sun protection, and I'd love to see it go from good to better :)

Worst! Crashed on first use and GPS won't find my location. Better of learning from any weather app not this!

R70%

I can't really use ot because it spends the WHOLE time loading data even when I'm in really good reception. When loading, it can't be used. It's been like this for weeks now.

Very useful haven't gotten sunburnt since I installed this app. However my area Brighton, SA isn't on the list so I'm going by Glenelg's forecast.

App was great but since upgrading to Android Oreo, it keeps crashing after setting up the profile. Please fix issue.

I think this is great especially here in Australia during spring summer and autumn because some days you have 40° days some days you have 30° days so great for kids to know when to wear Rashie to the beach ????????

A 1x1 widget that shows you the current UV index would be perfect. The current widget is a weather app.

Everyone in South Australia should download this app. It's important as we are the driest state in this hottest country.

Q70%

App stalls on loading, saying "loading UV information" even though it looks like the information has loaded in the background. Force stop can fix it. App doesn't show graph of predicted UV anymore. Once past that loading message, app is good.

Q70%

I love having this info easily available however I can't figure out how to change my location so it is useful when on holidays, so a bit annoying during the summer holidays...

I like this App. Thanks for creating it. Can you please add the option of adding a broad-brimmed hat to the suncream estimator? There's only an option for a cap. But I wear a broad-brimmed hat. Thanks.

Why would this app need to have access to my photos/storage/calls? I am going to use it for as long as I can without updates, and after that I will look for something less intrusive

C70%

Crashes everytime i try to use it. Uninstalled

M70%

But the widget is so ugly, can it be updated to material, or just centered?

D70%
by D####:

Love the daily reminder but the do i need sunscreen vitamin d tab is flawed -I'm about to go out for first time today -uv is at 7 but if i go to vitamin d and input 'i have not been in the sun at all today' it tells me i may not need sunscreen.

Q70%
by Q####:

It is useful, but whenever I hit one of the notifications, it never takes me to the app, and if the information is too long to show in a notification, I can never see the rest of the information.
