Blizzard Authenticator

I know the app does its job at protecting your account, however once you lose your phone, that's it. From what I've tried there is just no way of contacting blizzard, support doesn't work because you need to login and emailing them will just yield a automated response, I've had no luck in retrieving my account and am frustrated. I can't remove it via sim because my phone was simply stolen. I would not recommend using this, just use a better password.

Hello, I've rated this app 1 star because of an issue. I reset the authenticator not know what it would do. Now I can't access my account. Luckily I screenshot the recovery codes... But when I fill them out correctly and press submit it says "error please fill out required fields" Please fix this quickly. I recently bought overwatch and really want to play.

App does what it says. Like being able to allow a login from my notifications. I've switched phones multiple times as well as factory reset thus phone multiple times and have never had an issue. The first time Blizzard helped me remove the authenticator as the phone is was using bricked itself.

Restore code does not work. It keeps giving me an error saying that I dont have all the fields filled in even though I do. Now i have to make a ticket thats probably going to take a week. Unbelievable

Basically I made a factory reset on my phone and I deleted the authenticator and now I'm having the problem of entering a serial code which I don't have anymore since I deleted everything on my phone including the screenshot. Now I can't log in on my account, so Blizzard, any potential help/fix to that problem? I can give you any potential info of the account in a private chat.

After having some issues getting this set up. Its working fine now. But I don't understand why it didn't ask for the proper permissions it needs to set up. Lost some stars for the headache it gave me, but it works like a boss now.

What's the point? I had my phone get water damage, thus making the authenticator unusable, but then I had to get a new phone, which gave me a new number. Now I can't even make a ticket to get the authenticator off my account because it either wants to send my old number a text, or wants me to give it an authentication code I can't even receive

This has got to be the most frustrating authentication I have ever had to do. I bought Overwatch today, and have had to spend 3 hours trying to get the damn game to work. It also says that I have to purchase the game again because the authentication was frustratingly confusing. Get your priorities in check Blizzard, before you update the games you should make sure that people can play it in the first place.

I'm having trouble with setting up the SMS protection from the app. It stays stuck on the syncing screen but when I randomly touch on the screen I can type but can't see what I type or in what field I'm typing. Other than that it works fine. 5 out of 5 if I could get the SMS protection option to work properly.

This app is garbage. If you lose your phone or change phones you're pretty much screwed. You can't log into your account until you send a ticket to them which takes days. So you can't play until that's done. I know all my secret questions and password, but still can't get it without them removing the authenticator. I would honestly say this is the worst idea blizzard has ever cam up with. Please fire whoever came up with this.

All of the people complaining about losing their account info obviously didn't read the app info. It clearly states to write down your authorization code somewhere safe so if ANYTHING happens to your phone you won't be locking yourself out! Stop down grading this app just because you're mad you didn't read!!

I come back from a deployment and this app has locked me from my account. I tried costumer support. I didn't have the serial code or restore code. This is frustrating. The ticket is 24 hrs. I want to talk to someone, helpful not robots passing me from one site to another. One of the guys here said that you can click on an online chat or call. These aren't options when i do it. No number no live chat--it can't even be highlighted. This is really aggrevating. I wish I didn't apply to it.

Avoid this app - if you ever change phones or log in from another device, it throws a full-on tantrum... the fact you know your password and log-in doesn't matter. To remove it, there are more than a few hoops to jump through :(

My main problem seems to be whenever WoW asks for authentication the app doesn't do anything. It says there are no requests. I've had to retry 4 or 5 logins before the app recognises anything.

Wish I never set it up. Super clunky and frustrating. Thought it would be a faster, more secure log in but actually just locks me out of all my blizzard games for about 3 weeks everytime I switch phones or reset or any tiny thing goes wrong.

I hope Blizzard can change their decision from overwatch, actually if we want to change our name maybe not $10, but if care about some cust' give us disc or 2-3 credit to change our nickname in game. I just read the forum, many people just argument this topic, but simple i want is this. Thank you.

Dumbest thing ever. I understand security but why in the world have an authenticator JUST TO LOG IN. Makes no sense to me. There's a reason I haven't seen it before on any other game I have played.

Been useless for me - downloaded it and after log in screen it just sticks on "setting up" forever. Reinstalled multiple times, no change. Will update review if I am ever able to use the app.

I don't get what everyone is complaining about. If you lose your phone and are locked out of your accounts, that's your fault. When setting this up, you are told to write down/screenshot the restore code, and if you lose it that's your fault, not the app's.

Ok so I had this app on my phone and it worked perfectly but now my phone had to be reinstalled and I downloaded the app again and when I want to log in it needs two type of codes which I receive but when I type it in (perfectly) and click submit it said I have to fill out the the places where it requires it. I really can't do anything to get into my account. Could someone please help?

I screwed up when I downloaded this app because I was dumb and skipped through all of it not knowing I could never see it again. So now I can't sign in and don't have an ID yet because haven't gone to get my license, I'm so screwed

I broke my phone and I barely managed to recover the account. I think that when it gives you the restore codes it should make it clearer on how to use them.

Alright. This app is worthwhile if you value your Blizzard account. I do. It's pretty neat and self explanatory so I shouldn't need to say that even if you do lose your phone your not completely screwed over.

I'm having the same problem as everyone else. As soon as I tried to login, my access to all my games were denied and I have to use my authenticator to login, which I can't, because I don't know my serial or restore code.

Best deffense for your account period. Great fun trolling hackers, set your authenticator to ask for a code every time and approve when a hacker trying to log on your account. Then relog from your desktop boot them off and repeat ^^

I have owned this before but i need either new codes cuz i lost mine or for it to be removed from my account because i cant log in anymore and need to to. Play my game and i cant even get into my authenticator

This app works great.does what it was designed for and I have not had a single problem with switching phones . And to the people complaining about a lost phone.If you R.T.F.M then you will see that there is a code given when you use the app for the first time. That clearly states that you must take note of that code as it is used to recover your authenticator when you lose or switch phones. But anyway thank you blizzard.keep up the work.

Works fine. I used to get notifications where I could approve rather than having to go into the app. It's more an annoyance and extra step but it's not like it's broken.

Don't waste your time with it once you lose the screen shot of that code it's over and blizzard support don't do anything they just ask for or your info once u give it to them they send u an email we need more info and it's just an endless circle I'm still a tempting to rez my account but I think all hope is lost on it

Blizzard crapped the bed again. This app won't allow my Legion app to work now. Seriously considering dumping all blizzard products. I wouldn't install this.

App won't go past the 'setting up authenticator' screen, even after 9 HOURS of it being on there. Uninstalling, restarting, then reinstalling won't fix it either. Won't recommend it at all until they can fix these kinds of issues.

fantastic way to lock a 10 year fan out of his account. Rediculous i should contact blizzard in this case instead of answer a simple security question. Well done blizzard

Who do I talk to about this thing not making it past the "setting up" screen? Edit: That did not help (what was suggested by the developer response). The only thing that helped was to remove the authenticator from my account and setup the authenticator again. If this happens again I'll not be using the app anymore. Changed the rating to 3 stars for now. I'll keep anyone reading this updated at a future date.

Works great, somehow notifications randomly become blocked. To people complaining about switching/losing phones, it's your own fault if you keep the screenshot/serial numbers on the phone the authenticator is on.

App is broken. Gets stuck on "setting up..." Already tried reinstalling. My Battlenet account is bounded to an authenticator on my previous phone which is now lost and I cannot set it up again on this phone. Help please.

I forgot to take a photo of the authenticator stuff and therefore cannot enter my blizzard account. I hope u can do smth about it and reply me ASAP

One Tap no longer works. No matter the game or on the website seen you click on approve... It doesn't work.

This sucks! I can't log onto my game at all. It wot send me a new damn code to my email, because I uninstalled the program from my phone and reinstalled it. Now I have have to wait for these jackwanks to open up and then wait a couple of days before they will remove the damn thing!!!

Absolutly terrible, if you want extra security THIS IN NOT YOUR WAY, IF YOU GET A NEW PHONE AND LOOSE THE OLD ONE LIKE ME YOU WONT BE ABLE TO GO IN YOUR ACCOUNT AGAIN. The problem I have: my Screenshot is gone and I cant enter the Authenticator itself. Just please delete the Authenticator in general. Thank you for your effort but you wont be able to help me. The Screenshot is gone and I wont be able to play again.

The change nobody asked for... "Blizzard Authenticator" name change. Does what's on the tin, but I'd rather efforts go to player feedback in games than vanity name and icon changes.
