About File Timestamp
Easily change the last modification date and time of your files. This app requires ROOT access and BusyBox.
On Android OS, every time you copy a file, the last modified date of the destination file is not preserved. For instance, if you copy an image file (i.e. picture), the Photo Gallery app will show the new file in the wrong order.
Use File TimeStamp to change the last modification date of your files.
This app is particularly useful when copying files between devices. Run the app on the original device (does not require root on that device), copy your files and an additional text file generated by the app to the new device. Run the app again on the new device (with ROOT access) and easily change the date of your files.
File TimeStamp also allows you to change the date of all your files at once, based on their file name or imagens based on EXIF Tag of JPEG files.
You can change the date of a single file or in batches.
The application currently supports the following masks:
WhatsApp:
IMG-[yyyyMMdd]-WAnnnn. Eg: IMG-20161201-WA0001.jpg
Ignores all non-numeric characters and considers yyyyMMddHHmmss (first 14 digits):

Please stop the "checking device" startup process which is annoying and slow every time sharing files to this app. File in external sdcard can't be renamed with error message File Or Path With Invalid Char, though root has been granted. Maybe the folder names contain characters other than English. The same file can be renamed successfully in internal storage, but it consumes lots of time annoyingly by waiting to the "processing" message compared with the previous version.

I'm so lucky to have found this app! It works like a charm! Deals with everything that concerns the "Modified Date" timestamp on Android. It's brilliant that besides EXIF infos, it can also make use of datetime patterns in the filename. Amazing! Compliments also for providing detailed log files after each operation. Keep up the good work, please! Btw: Do I have to worry if some tests in the diagnostic tool fail on my device (only Test 3, 15, 16,17 succeeded)?

Stopped working correctly. When running the EXIF option on a folder with many files it fails with an error. Checked the log to see if related to a specific file but found that it fails no matter what...

Seconds part of a file timestamp can't be changed. What's the use of an App when it can not accomplish the work it is made for? TIP! Files timestamp can be changed up to seconds using Total Commander App.

It didn't process all of the files in my folder for some reason even though they all have the same naming scheme (YYYYmmDD_HHmmss). This applied to both some pictures and video (mp4) files. LG G4 on Lollipop, external SD as storage.

When I copied my pictures using the LG File Manager to an external SD card, all my photos ended up the same date. This great utility fixed the file dates for me.

I transferred some pics and vids from internal storage back over to SD after SD filled up and overflowed. Gallery viewed these as the date I transferred them even though the file names represented the correct dates. I couldn't correct these manually thru Gallery or Root Explorer. This let me correct them one by one, then I let it process the whole Gallery folder and it straightened everything out perfectly. The UI is a little clunky but not terrible, and you don't need to spend much time in it anyways.

Just missing the same feature for other files that are stored with time mask. Particularly mp4! I imported lots of media from a WP and this set all images right, but the mp4s continue with bad timestamp. ALso the ability to edit/create masks would be awesome.

I rooted my new Moto X just so that I may use the app, but I couldn't get it to work. I've installed BusyBox, so I don't know what could be the problem. It always fails with an error message. I've emailed the developer, but he hasn't responded.

I loved almost everything about and it's the only app I found that does this so accurately and safety. The only thing I didn't like is when locating file by file it doesn't remember last folder path, so you have to relocate... Also some date formats of old phone photos are not recognised... Nonetheless, thanks for this great app!

Piece of crap. Doesn't work with mask properly, and there's no custom masks. Even if you have right fts file, it's still doesn't work. And you actually need to pay for this.
