Angel Garden Statues Design

Concrete angels, frogs, gnomes and more have typically been used as garden statuary pieces in America, but not for some landscape architects, like Mary Palmer Dargan, who chooses to go with the unusual statues in order to invoke mystery as the homeowner wanders their beautifully landscaped property. Take the stone statue pictured above. This North Carolina based residence landscape boasts a woodland clearing that is punctuated at one end by these layered varying-sized stones, seemingly placed one atop the other without benefit of anything to hold them together.

There is no glue obvious on the stones, to indicate they are being held together by man's touch. And there is no sign of drilling of the rock, to create some other method of keeping the stones from tumbling one upon the other. And the entire outdoor art work adds to the well-maintained woodsy clearing in which it is situated, blending in naturally with the surrounding scenery.

This particular Dargan Landscape Architect firms' display of brilliance is not an anomaly, as other properties landscaped by this husband and wife duo also boast garden statuary that is unusual and breathtaking, adding an instant conversation piece to the home landscape. Take for example the photo shown above of the statue holding fresh flowers from the home, surrounded by a wall of ivy in the background. This examiner has seen both statues in situ, and while both are breathtaking in person on their own merits, they both also could be used together in one garden (rather than the two separate gardens they adorn), and it would not be too overpowering, at least not in the expansive properties in which these two objects are currently placed.
