A great way to inject style and personality into a room is by hanging a chandelier. These regal light fixtures were once reserved for formal dining rooms and grand entrances, but designers are now using them in kitchens, bedrooms and even bathrooms. A chandelier can add a striking visual effect to unexpected spaces and can serve as the main source of light in any room.
From the dining room to the entry foyer, chandeliers can create a grand welcome or an intimate atmosphere! The flexibility of many lights instead of one or two allows you to go from homework to fine dining with the turn of a dimmer! Whether you’re searching for the perfect island chandelier, an updated pool table light, a traditional mini crystal chandelier, a contemporary dining table light, a whimsical bird and flower kitchen chandelier, or a unique one-of-a-kind chandelier, you will find it here! Enjoy browsing our selection of chandeliers, hanging lanterns and pendant lights for your bedroom, bathroom, powder room, dining room, kitchen, game room, entry foyer, stairway, etc. From French wire basket chandeliers to trendy modern drum shade chandeliers, our selection is unique and positively thrilling! With a bit of whimsy and lots of style, our chandeliers range from industrial machine gears to renewable vines! We have chandeliers made from shells, rattan, recycled metal, recycled glass, beads, twigs, vines, chicken wire, jute and rope, burlap panels, and wrought iron. Our quality chandelier selection includes crystal ball chandeliers, antique chandeliers, contemporary chrome and nickel fixtures, wood chandeliers, chicken wire pieces, bamboo chandeliers and lanterns, and more. Decide where the chandelier is going to be installed to determine the size you need. Once you know that, use the following guidelines:
Finding the correct chandelier height can be problematic unless you know the dimensions of the room.
When hanging over a dining room table, for an 8-foot standard ceiling, the bottom of the chandelier should hang thirty to thirty-four inches over the table.
Add three inches more for each additional foot of ceiling height.
If you are hanging a large chandelier or one that is very heavy, we suggest using a joist brace above the junction box to help carry the weight. You may wish to consult a professional electrician for such an installation.
For traditional designs, you can add a decorative cord or chain cover to dress up the final look.
When hanging a chandelier with a chain, trim the chain to the hang height required. Do the same with pendants that hang from a cord.
Landings and entryways usually have high ceilings that are perfect for tall chandeliers; hang these so there is a minimum 8-foot clearance.
Remember that the higher a design hangs, the smaller it looks, so go with a larger size if the space is large.
Choosing a unique chandelier that is well suited for your space can be difficult.
