Clownfish derived from the warm waters of the Indian and Pacific Oceans, including the Great Barrier Reef and the Red Sea. others are widespread. Clownfish live on shallow seabed in protected coral reefs or in shallow lagoons. There is no clownfish in the Atlantic because the Atlantic's average sea is loose and deep.
Clownfish are omnivores and can eat their undigested foods, and the impurities from clownfish provide nutrients to the sea anemone. Clownfish mainly eat small zooplankton, such as copepods and larvae, with a small portion of their food coming from algae, with the exception of Amphiprion perideraion, which mainly feed on algae. They may also consume their anemone tentacles.
