I've paid Good bucks for crappy iPhone app for similar [advertised] functionality. They had ton of settings but never really worked.. This one on the other hand is simple, responsive and accurate. I would pay for this app. And I'm sure many more folks would. You should list a bitcoin address somewhere.

Could you make a version that shows only the music your device is playing? Like a music visualizer?

I'm an A/C tech by trade and an audio nut by hobby and passion. This app allowed me to quickly pinpoint the frequency range of an objectionable noise in a large commercial unit, and moving around allowed me to further narrow the area of the noise. Nice for rough estimating, but a professional tool is necessary for professional results. Mic in a phone is not going to be calibrated for pro use. Good app for the money (free) and gives you the basics to do what is needed on the fly for quick, basic work.

This has become my main speaker calibration tool now. Simple yet very effective. Awaiting some improvements in the forthcoming versions. Thank you for making such a wonderful handy tool. Warm regards.

I have been using it to find feedback setting up our band's PA system. I just turn up the volume on the PA, see roughly what frequency the feedback is at and then filter it out on the EQ built into the PA. Simples. ;-)

Y70%
by Y####:

Keep in mind this is limited by your phones or tablets microphone. Most can cover pretty high up (20khz) but most (if any) can't do it the low end frequencies. I can't seem to find solid info on the lower end for the galaxy s5 but I'm pretty sure it doesn't go down to 50hz

by Y####:

It seems that the readings show some kind of aliasing at higher frequencies, above 15kHz, it always showing high level at those frequencies whatever the input is. Overall, the app's quite accurate. FYI, I'm using ASUS Zen 6.

It pretty basic, but works on Marshmallow. You may have to reinstall if you get the message "Unfortunately ... has stopped" at startup.

Simple, clear and efficient. After downloading some white, pink and Brownian noise mp3s to play, this gem of an app allowed me to balance new speakers and sub-woofer and equalization. It is superb.

Y70%
by Y####:

It could have more functions but it is what it says an the responsiveness and simplicity are just brilliant! Maybe a bit of zoom in sectors or an option to choose the frequencies you want to display could be just epic just because of having more and better precision at the time of equalising. Great job and thanks for sharing free!!

Bs app for RAZR Maxx, not accurate at all with respect to relative spl.

Used this to calibrate my room acoustics, something to note: pink noise will show up as flat.

The ads are too interruptive. Get rid of them or change them to something less intrusive.

I use this to help back up my ears while doing live sound. Great app, best response time I've found. Would be nice to have a few options (change width of the bar, select internal or external mic, etc.)

L70%
by L####:

I'd pay a little if we could change some settings, like show octaves or specific frequency range, perhaps set limits and show peaks also would be great please update :-)

Y70%
by Y####:

I would find it very useful if the app could write the exact frequency of the peaks. That would be useful for more accurate corrections. I have a small lcd phone and thus i have to "guess" where exactly is the peak, especially if we are talking about feedback!!! Ether ways it's ******* AWESOME!

I was trying to explain to my daughter the difference between different sounds. 10 seconds on Google play and this thing is showing her the difference with a wiggly line. She played with it for 20 minutes and learned way more than me droning on (at 800 Hz, apparently). Next time she has a temper tantrum, I'm going to fire it up and measure her screaming.

This app clearly showed the 400hz whine on my neighbor's annoying HVAC system. It was impossible to isolate on other apps.

Looks like an animated GIG, whether there is sound to analyze, or no sound at all. Amazing rubbish!

U70%
by U####:

Very accurate I tested it with the test tone generator in Ableton Live and it was very precise. Would give a 5 star rating if the line was thinner and there were smaller increments on the graph. As an audio engineer this tool is very helpful

Q70%

The realtime processing of the app is awesome... Used it a couple of times to eq some troubling frequencies in my sound mix... Really usedfull tool

There are sinus waves moving all over the screen, so I can't detect subtleties. Your app runs smoothly, though. (MT6589)

B70%

Accurate for a phone app. Could use some more bells and whistles such as: a option for bars instead of a wave. Tap a frequency for more exact number. Calibration. Peek recordings.

W70%

The only tweak I would make is a means to record. Great work.

Q70%

Extremely handy when mixing live bands through a PA. You can tune out feedback and rumble with the graphic equalisers after using this app to see which frequencies are causing the problems. 5 star+.

M70%
by M####:

I can see how this would be very useful for a specific group of people. My kids like playing with it, and I kind of do too. I'd like to have the option to turn the camera on & have it record video with the frequency spectrum line superimposed. "Yes dear, you were snoring - and it was THIS loud!"

M70%
by M####:

This is superb. The fast reading is really good and is very useful. If you could make it zoom-able for us to see more precise frequency and make thinner line, I wouldn't mind paying at all. Great job! Thanks a lot :)

N70%
by N####:

As a sound tech, it is not always easy to balance a sound board without a graphic equalizer. This app gives me that graphic so I can identify stray frequencies. That being said, it will not identify specific frequencies, but it does a great job of showing where the harmonies are. This app is great fun and a lot of help.

Nice app but much better if you could pls. add a pause button. And also, can you zoom in and out the frequency range to locate the detail frequency. Tnx

Amazing app, use it all the time for live sound engineering. All of the bad reviewers seem to be unlucky with their hardware or a bit dim...

M70%

I have no use for this app other than as a toy, but it does what it does very well. It is fast with very little, if any at all, lag between the display and the sound pick up. Great app.

M70%

Would be a good app if it didn't crash constantly

M70%

So far not bad for a free app, having said that I haven't had a chance to test this side by side to a REAL RTA yet. When I do test it I will inform everyone my findings. For now 3stars. And this will change after the test.

Easy to use and reliable. Even for professional musicians is a great tool
