Update: Works after updating app on 6/30/17. I was able to log into and use the app without any issues to connect my a/c to WiFi. Thanks Frigidaire/devs for fixing! This a/c is amazing now with the added functionality. Old: Just like nearly everyone else, I can't connect the air conditioner to WiFi with the app. Hopefully devs are working on this, it's obviously very much broken on the app and/or server side if we're all experiencing this. (Btw, it's shocking that Pixel devices aren't on the list of approved devices. They're Google's own reference Android devices and therefore the device which apps should be designed for first and foremost.)

Installed, configured and works as advertised in under 2 minutes, so it gets 5 stars (Galaxy S7). That being said, I am an IT professional and figured out pretty quickly what was happening in the background. Not sure my spouse would have had the same success when it came time to switch back to the default AP, this step could be clearer. Pressing the Sign Button every time I launch is disappointing. Maybe that can be bypassed in a future build.

This is like being forced to log-in to your own car keys. - It's too bad I am not rating the AC itself, or the physical remote control device... since they are just fine. >>> The app however is a critical fail in every sense. - APP: Open your app to change the room temperature. Nope. > Create an account. Fine. Now change the temperature? Nope. > Please Login. Fine. > Open app to change fan speed a few min later? Nope. Login. > Login. > Login login login login. Every time. If the app is ever closed or the phone is ever restarted, login once more. Which is far from instant. - First One-Star I've Ever Given.

The schedule part of the app was the part i was most looking forward to. however, it is essentially useless unless you allow the user to be able to adjust each individual day. I would also like to see a "lock out" feature added so that people can not manually change the settings without permission.

Zero problems, worked flawlessly upon first attempt. Perhaps earlier versions had issues, but they seem completely resolved. 100% positive experience. Two units connected so far. Coming home to cool rooms is a beautiful thing. People whining about signing in need to chill for the 2 second delay it takes, geez. You just press the sign in button and wait maybe 2 seconds. Great functionality, only available in units priced 3 times as much. Quiet A.C., cools well.

When following the instructions provided: when I need to leave the app to connect to the "Air Conditioner" wifi, switch back to the app to then connect back to my home wifi, the app doesn't let me sign in because it loses connection. Switching back to my home wifi and trying again doesn't help. Why on earth would you ask someone to sign in whenever you leave the app, especially when setting up. Having to wait to for it to load is irksome. Why not allow you to continue from where you left off. Won't be using the app after all.

1) There is no clean way to exit the app. Runs in background, destroying battery life unless you force terminate it. 2) RAM utilization is very high (200MB). 3) no apparent way to edit existing schedules.

I have the most updated version of the app and I still cannot login into the app. I still receive the white screen once it's done loading.

This app will not connect my AC to wifi. I am using a Nexus 6p with the latest version of Android. The app does not see any of the Wifi networks available even though they are all present on my phone.

Much like many other users, I can't connect my AC to my wifi. This defeats the purpose and it makes the sticker price hurt even more.

Would not work on iPad ... Took a bit to get it working on Android ... Now it will no longer connect ... Haven't the time to troubleshoot ...third time it has disconnected from WiFi and I can't remove it from app ... Less than happy since I only use it when I am going to bed ... Not in the mood to play let's fix the app ...

I use Google pixel XL. Also change my display size to small, but the app started to work in landscape Mode only and most of the functions are not visible. Please fix it in next version of the app. Yes you're right when our use normal size of the screen, it looks fine. But I also use a lot of applications with changed screen size and they look the same with any screen size.

This app has a 25% chance of working even if you go through everything correctly!!!!! Save yourself time and money and just return all of it and get another A/C. I regret not doing that last year when I bought this thing. I don't understand how a company is capable of selling a product with an app that never works. Terrible...Smh!

It's pretty simple in an ok way, lag is still there, sometimes it won't connect but all in all its okay. If the devs could implement username/password retention to skip sign in process every single time we open the app then it would be awesome.

When it works, it works well enough. My biggest issue with this app is having to sign back in every time I open it up. Also, I would like to be able to schedule my a/c per day and not just weekdays and weekends. I work in a restaurant and my weekends are not Saturday and Sunday.

It's a good thing that the unit is great because this app is completely useless. (UPDATE) Frigidaire contacted me for feedback and I provided them additional info. They said they'd get back to me within 24 hours. That was a week ago, haven't heard anything. Great customer service.

The scheduling feature is a gimmick. I bought the unit hoping to be able to schedule power on before I wake up, power down after I leave home for work, then power back on before I get home from work. Pretty straightforward and simple expectation, right? Well not according to the app developers. You can only configure one power on/off event that repeats every day. If someone reads this, please consider updating this feature and I'll gladly give you 5 stars.

awesome unit but horrible app! unable to connect to wifi, unable to register online, I got errors after errors saying that it takes too long to connect and than crashes. Not worth the extra money for an AC unit with wifi that you are not able to use... I will return it and look for something else.

When the app works, it's pretty good. However, I get a connection error about 75% of the time and I'm unable to even view the units remotely, let alone control them. How can frigidaire have such a terrible app? I bought these units for the wifi functionality, however, it doesn't work. Waste of money.

I wish I could give this 0 stars. It's buggy as hell. Claims my device is on when it's not. I'm forced to click sign in every time, even after opting to stayed signed in. Very laggy. The Google home integration is a joke... I have to have an entire conversation just to turn my air conditioning on?!

it's annoying I have to hit "sign in" after opening the app. I also had to buy a more powerful wireless router so that it would stay connected to WiFi and not disconnect all the time. but with those two caveats, it works fine. it's only 8000btu tho so put this in a small room.

This App works 20% off the time inn either 4G or WiFi. Its always "thinking" and can never get into my account for management. I'm better off using a WeMo adaptor. Overall great idea bad app.

I'd love to rate this higher, in fact I'd love to buy a second unit. But to have a Smart Home app that DOESN'T WORK ON TABLETS is absolutely ridiculous in this day and age when the majority of smart home users use tablets. It USED to work on tablets, but suddenly won't connect any more and you can no longer install it on tablets. I have it "working" on my phone, a stock Nexus 6P, but the app refuses to work in portrait mode, which means flipping my phone around any time I want to use it. So if you have a phone with a large screen, chances are you'll have the same issue. Neither of these things are acceptable in a modern app and that's why I can't rate this any higher at the moment, nor will I buy a second unit. Also, can't connect account as login does not work with Google Home. Luckily it works with Amazon Alexa's app so I was able to connect there. This app needs a rewrite and fast, if Frigidaire intends to stay in the Smart Home market. Also needs to open it's API to devs. Of course, all of this will continue to be ignored as Frigidaire seems to be content with it's low Play Store ratings. Frigidaire, feel free to contact me directly if you want to discuss.

I Read the reviews here saying it doesnt connect or work, and i can vouch for that. I bought the smart ac at half price, and its a good ac from what can tell but this app SUCKS. Cant even register an account. plain and simple this app isnt working.

Took ten tries before this worked to connect - tip for Frigidaire, the error messages in Chinese were not helpful. Ended up naming my A/C 'Homer' to match its competence.

This app is terrible it doesn't work it constantly freezes and gives me errors. The scheduling does not work even though I cleared my schedule it's still does its own thing with the scheduling. It goes on and off when it pleases not when I set it to. For the expensive price I paid for this Frigidaire air conditioner they should at least make a normal functioning app. So here's your one star rating Frigidaire and you're lucky you got that if there were 10 negative Stars I'd give it that.

Download this app if you really enjoy looking at a circle going around and around and around saying "thinking" only to be followed by "hmmmmm this is taking longer than expected" The app sucks and connected fine when it was cold out and I didn't need ac. Now when it's hot out and I'd like to use it, it doesn't work, perfect! The unit itself is overbilled in terms of BTU's. The unit says it can handle a larger area and has trouble cooling a bedroom with the door closed and a ceiling fan circulating air as well. Worst purchase ever

Heard lots of negative reviews especially on the app so was skeptical to buy it, but my love for tech made me purchase it anyways. Noise about the same as all other AC and the app works fantastic, the other day left it on by mistake and was able to turn it off while doing 90 on the major degan. Not really I was on the train but nevertheless got to love the functionality!!

False advertisement, this app does not work at all! I haven't been able to successfully log in let alone use the app to control the AC.. which is why I bought the dam thing.. this app is clearly iPhone compatible only, if it wasn't they would be displaying an IPhone on the pamphlet! Fix this or this Ac will be returned and I will make sure no one purchased this unit! Give the people what they paid for and make the changes necessary, if not recall the unit and fix it. It's clear there is a problem on a grand scale.. loom at all the negative reviews!

UPDATE - Finally, without any help from the online center, the A/C unit was able to connect to the app/internet. I followed each step to the letter, and it wouldn't connect for two days. Randomly, it finally connected. I do like how it works now. However, still can't seem to figure out it is supposed to connect to Google Assistant. DON'T BUY THIS PRODUCT or DOWNLOAD THIS APP UNTIL YOU SEE BETTER REVIEWS. App stinks. Tried connecting from three different Samsung Galaxy phones. Could get to various stages and then it times out and says try again in 5 minutes. This has been going on for 5 hours now. Customer service is only from 9-5pm. I see they respond to these reviews but it's always "email us." Why not fix the app or simply post the solution online?

What the hell??? I spend so much extra on a wifi enabled air conditioner and you app does not connect to it!!! I will leave negative reviews on every website I can find for you crappy air conditioner until you fix this app. Not acceptable at all!!!!!!!!!!!!

Such a shame that this app is absolute garbage. It hasn't received an update in 3 months and still has major problems. A beautiful air conditioner with a ton of potential is ruined by this terrible app. Frigidaire, higher some full-time Android developers and actively fix and improve this app! (This app was obviously contracted out and rushed to be released in time for the spring A/C buying period and then neglected). The promise of a smart appliance can't be fulfilled without a focus on software!
