I've tested them all and this is the only one I can live with. It works very well except that many of the comments are not loaded entirely and get cut in the middle regardless of their length. There are longer comments that load correctly, while others get cut for no reason that I can understand. EDIT: the proportion of broken comments has increased substantially. Whoever wrote this app doesn't really use it.

More stable than others (at the time of writing!), but many comments are incomplete at random lengths, so it's not a fixed cut-off. Dev might want to review how he's interpreting an end-of-comment marker reliably?

Good app, but i wish that links to articles didn't send me to the mobile version of slashdot... which is god damn awful.

I get this error far too often. Even rebooting my phone doesn't help. Can't get new stories, often until the next day.

Not a bad app at all, lots of features. Needs a button to share content visit Twitter/G+/FB/etc. Also being able to comment would be huge. Not enough features to move me from the mobile site yet.

A 0 has now appeared and always causes the refresh to stop prematurely. EDIT: Bug seems to have been squashed with latest release!

"Refresh cancelled" on every reload. Nexus 5 with (mostly) stock KitKat.

I love being able to quickly browse the articles. Recent update fixed previous issue with prefetching articles.

Click refresh and doesn't even try to refresh and says refresh cancelled. Immediate uninstall. On OnePlus One with Android 5.1.1

Good solid reader, but is there any reason you limit the comment filter to 2 or higher?

Used to work well, very broken now. It used to be great: it loaded articles for online or offline viewing, has a good interface to browse the comments and had good settings for filtering based on rating thresholds. I started having issues a while ago where it seemed like periodic articles were somehow corrupted. Maybe 1 out of every 10 articles in the app just showed a title of "0" and when the refresh got to that article it failed and would not load any articles below it in the list. You could still manually view articles lower in the list, but it would not automatically load them for offline viewing because the refresh broke. This was annoying and made it to where I could not download many articles for reading over a long flight, but forgivable because I pretty much always have internet otherwise. It's now worse and will not load anything at all. When I load the app with an empty list of articles (none loaded yet), it starts to refresh, hangs for 5-10 seconds then says "refresh cancelled" and does not load anything. I literally can't view any articles at all. I tried clearing all app data and reinstalling but it still doesn't work. I would love the app if not broken.

Good app. I like the interface, but I feel that there could be some other features as other people have mentioned. I consider this a worthy app amongst my other frequently used apps.

It always fails to refresh with a cancelled error.

Polls on the front page appear to have broken article downloads. I can still read the articles, but it's nice to know how many comments an article has going in since there is usually more info in the comments than in the summary.

I love this app but please fix the "refresh cancelled" issue. Can't update posts at all.

Only thing I would like this app to have is either the ability to load more headlines as I scroll to the bottom or a button at the bottom to load more stories. All in all, it's an excellent app.

Refresh time out every time I try to load any content. Moto e connected to WiFi. This connection was able to download and install the app twice and works fine for browsing Slashdot in chrome, other sites and radio streaming (off when trying this app) if the connection is timing out as other responses have indicated it is due to extreme intolerance of mediocre connections on the part of this app where no other app seems to have similar issues.

It shows 'downloading' then 'refresh canceled' and no news are listed at all.

It's almost like drudge report but better because it's all about IT.

Almost everytime, whenever i try to refresh the Rss feed, i get the message "refresh cancelled". Hope the issue will get fix sooner. Thanks Maxwell for the reply. The issue can't be with internet connection timeout as I am having reliable broadband working/downloading all the time without any issues. Sorry, but I have to say you got this wrong. I am using android version 4.4.4.

Good premise but never been able to download anything, refresh cancelled every time. Galaxy S4 mini running 4.2.2 and no issues relating to downloading in other circumstances.

This app does not work. It keeps saying refresh cancelled. Please fix.

Works perfectly OK HTC one M8, but I keep getting refresh cancelled on my tablet.

I probably use this app more than any app on my phone. It works perfectly

Does not require special privileges! How many apps can say that? Lol
