IMPORTANT NOTICE FOR iCloud USERS:
If you have migrated your notes to the new Apple system, this app will not work anymore.
Apple has leaved IMAP server to a new one that doesn't use IMAP protocol.
If you have not migrated, then this app will work.
This has changed in september 2015 with OS X El Capitan.
Imapnote2 works ONLY with IMAP server
This project is a fork of "imapnote" one created by boemianrapsodi (boemianrapsody@gmail.com). Probably Pasquale Boemio. Some things don't work correctly but it was impossible to contact him to correct these bugs.
Original app is named "imapnote", and is available at https://code.google.com/p/imapnote/, So I decided to name this one "imapnote2". It is under the GPL v3 License, as is "imapnote"
It is based on Apple (IOS and OS X) way to manage notes. They are stored in an imap folder named "Notes". imapnote uses Gmail for syncing. But as I use my own imap server, I have modified it to be used with any imap server that respects Apple's method. It has been tested with Gmail (imap.mail.me.com), Yahoo! (imap.mail.yahoo.com), AOL (imap.aol.com) and of course my server. Even if not still tested, it should work with others too.
With this version it is possible to display, create, delete and modify IOS,OS X notes.
It uses ActionBar which gives modern look and is more ergonomic
It is also possible to use it with Kerio Connect servers and Courier IMAP servers
Now use of plain text, SSL/TLS and STARTTLS is possible
Untrusted certificates can be allowed
works now exclusively offline
sync with server is done in the background
it uses Android sync adapter mechanism
sync can be forced at any time
sync is done in partial respect to RFC 4549.
sync interval can be configured account by account

Many important improvements have been made to this version. In case of difficulties, please uninstall the application and then reinstall it.

Neither syncs folders nor displays hyperlinks as hyperlinks, but plain text. Hyperlinks with images shown as plain image. Lot more needs to be done to make this app the best. If need be add the features as paid version. Evernote does good job, but it's worthless for me as I prefer OSX notes, where in I can have notes from all IMAP servers. Hence this app after trying many. iNotes does the trick but only Google account supported. Same hyperlink issue as well. Thanks for the app.

Thank you very much. I use this almost daily and it is great to sync with my mac. It tends to crash a lot, I always get notifications that "imapnotes2 has stopped," but other than that, it does what it is supposed to and that's all I could ask. Thank you (:

Authentication error. Was awesome just over a month ago. It's useless now. And they still trick you with latest update like there's nothing wrong.

It may not work with iCloud but it works for every other type of IMAP server. Love it. It's ugly but works. Could do some improvements in the UI a bit. Do not change the functionality of this app for iCloud people. Perfect.

lack of delete confirmation is a danger. (Note: ive used a apk editor to remove the delete option from this app, was very easy to do. Any deleting of notes I do from the pc client side). Fantastic and simple program, syncs with outlook with no problems. Useful little tool (android 5.1 / arch Linux with dovecot IMAP SSL)

But the source is on github. It doesn't work for more using Yahoo IMAP. I cloned the repository and ran it in Android Studio and found that the ConnectToRemote method fails with res.returncode=-2, res.errorMessage=Cannot obtain UIDValidity.

Suggest to have confirmation for deletion. ...... It works perfect to sync existing note to this app. BUT the sync didnt work when I created or edited notes.

Installed it... Syncs alright but if I create a new note and hit the save icon... Message gets deleted. Same if I try edit an existing note. Will NOT create apple account... Authentication error every time no matter what authentication ... Only Google account works! Piece of crap!!

It stopped working when I upgraded my nac to El Capitan OSX. After the upgrade I don't see any new notes which I add in Mac synced to this app on Android. I understand from Apple that they have changed the notes app.

Tried editing a note on iPhone, then with this app (using the same note on the same account). Changes made with this app didn't sync back to the iPhone, and after that this app lists many duplicates of some other notes and just crashes out when I try to sync. So it's completely broken in less than 5 minutes of use.

Confusing GUI. Could not setup HTC EVO to login in to iCloud. Chose to not risk corrupting my iPad iNotes database.

I like this app and it seems to synchronize reliably. It does however show multiple previous versions of the same note. Maybe something to do with Yosemite?
