There's absolutely no reason this app should require location services to be turned on in order to function. Bluetooth is the only permission you should need to have on for it to work. It used to only ask for Bluetooth, but, ever since the last update, that's changed. What a waste of money. DO NOT PURCHASE ANYTHING THAT USES THIS APP. Smh!

On Android when it asks to turn on GPS to "find near by BLE devices" I just choose "No" and it still seems to work the same. Have had issues over the last year where one of two randomly won't show up at the same time (with or without GPS.)

Tells me to reset but not what and link within 1 minute. Good game as takes time to reset. Absolute rubbish

Older version better. Under warm keep darkness of buttons..bring back please...also note on android 4.4.4 does not turn on gps..does with 6.0.1

It works fine. Bluetooth smart can be used for location, which is why you get the permission request along with bluetooth request, you dont need GPS.

Can you make this app open-source?

I really think the music category should get worked on. When I'm at shows and I want to put the music with the lights, I can't find my certain songs I want because I have over 600 songs and there is no easy way to find the certain one you want. Also when I play music, the lights are off on the beat. Really would like this fixed so it works better with music. Finally with using this app for lights on a vehicle, it would be nice if the color wheel got fixed on because when I have white on, it looks sky blue.

Sorry but this is garbage. I bought the BLELED controller on Ebay and instructions say pairing isn't needed. Just turn on phones Bluetooth, turn on the BLELED controller, open software and it will connect. Not! It's asking me for a pairing code and no combination out of a hundred+ I've tried work. Anyone else have this problem?

This is a great app. It switches my LED light strips on and off with ease..... Automatically too with a zillion different colour combos what more could you ask for....? Well actually...... Is it possible when on disco mode, to make the light flash randomly rather than going through the colours of the rainbow....? That would be an awesome addition for a tick box to make them random or in rainbow sequence. I'd pay money for that addition too....! Here's hoping

Location required for a Bluetooth app since android 6? Ridiculous. And it won't work with any android older than 5.1. So I can't repurpose old phones.

T70%
by T####:

The iPhone version is much much better, With android version there is a lot of delays and change happened to the lights one by one not all at the same time. Please improve android version

My God this is garbage. Doesn't work and the FAQs were written by an illiterate

Works as advertised. Use it with the LEDS controllers on my motorcycle.

I've had this from beta, and its current version with old bulbs is extremely reliable.

Works wicked for my car's interior and exterior LEDs

location? bug off.

Great. No problems at all. Timer works.

T70%

Perfect

T70%

But when I put in white on the phone I expect white, not blue. And the timer for auto of is great... til I walk out of range with my phone and the lights stay on all night. And ditch the mandatory location option. It makes the app seem super sketchy. What could you possibly need location for anyways? Other than that the app does some cool stuff.

O70%
by O####:

Well, it's certainly pretty neat. It's very difficult to select the color you want, however. The bulb is shining with a color that looks nothing like the color I set on my phone. It looks purple, and on my phone it's orange. I'm not crazy. And the maximum luminosity is way higher on the "Warm" mode! It shouldn't be so hard to make a good app.

I70%

Since update, now demands location be on for no legit reason. Creepy app behaves maliciously; anti-privacy, waste of battery. Uninstalled and warning everyone on social media and Amazon not to buy these worthless bulbs. I feel scammed.

V70%
by V####:

It took three months to get a replacement bulb, and this app will not even work for them. The english directions are terribly translated and hard to follow. The bulb does work and it does connect to my phone, but NOT through this app. So now I have two bluetooth bulbs that glow at full power with no control over the color or brightness, or the ability to control multiple bulbs as promised. If you bought this, return it asap and get a better bulb that does what it says it will do.

T70%
by T####:

It does the job done with phones but would be better if it works with tablets as well. I have an old tablet with Android OS and would like to use it to control the light in my room with it but unfortunately the app is limited with phones only.

I love the lights, and until recently the app software to handle it has been good enough. But now recently you need location services on as well as bluetooth... No need for that. Its suspect to say the least. It worked just greta with bluetooth only! Revert it back and id happily change my rating to reflect. Read the reviews lately, This change was pointless and did nothing but frustrate your consumers!

O70%
by O####:

For any given bulb the app fails to connect about half the time. The color change functions are buggy and sometimes don't work at all. the colors are poorly calibrated and don't match the color wheel on the screen. instead of fixing any of these problems in the last update, they fixed nothing and now demand your location data. Release the SDK so I can hold a better app myself!

Q70%
by Q####:

Needs Bluetooth proximity triggered on/off.also needs to be backwards compatible with older hardware bulbs (grouping). Also needs am/pm for timers rather than just 24hr time. Last thing is it needs to grey the power buttons of lights which are off in the device list main screen (not just individual device options).plus needs to be faster and have a better range!

V70%
by V####:

Interface is a little finicky but eventually I was able to select the colors I wanted. My main problem is that it seems like even when I'm not using the app a message pops up on my phone telling me that an app needs access to GPS to work. No matter what I'm doing it will pop up. My battery life has been cut drastically for some reason. Please fix.

K70%
by K####:

Never made it past the first screen. It just says "add group" What group? Why is there a group? What is the group? Might have been nice for a quick answer to that one on that page. Also... why does it need my location? If I'm in range, then I'm in my house. Do you plan on coming over for tea to see the lightbulb? No? Ok then, you don't need my location. Uninstalled and hated.

I recently bought a flux superlight smart bulb and the app recognized the bulb but then gave me an error that it wasn't supported. It's the same brand just a newer model of the bulb I've used with this app for the last few months. Please update the app.

Four outputs but RGB&W cannot be on at the same time :-( A Simple slider for all four outputs with the custom buttons to save the settings. Renaming the RGB&W would be great for controlling multiple white strips connected to one controller. It takes a long time to play with the touch color wheel to dial settings in. Make the app open source so a bunch of kids can blow endless hours making it great.

O70%

Pretty bad app from the start and now they force you to use your GPS for whatever reason.

D70%
by D####:

These lights are awesome, but the one app required to control them is garbage. You have so many color options with RGB(W), but you can't adjust the individual...R,G,B/W, I update and everything's unsaved, and below all that it doesn't English well at all. Seriously, if there's only one way of controlling the lights, it better be good.

N70%
by N####:

Originally the app was alright, did what it needed to do. Now, just to use Bluetooth, location services are required to be on. REMOVE THIS UNNECESSARY FEATURE. If they don't remove this within the next month I'm throwing these bulbs in a box, or the garbage, and getting normal bulbs again. Bluetooth does not need location services. On top of the horrible permissions, the UI is outdated looking.

K70%
by K####:

UPDATE: LOCATION SERVICES ARE NOT NEEDED PLEASE REMOVE THIS Overall, I am really a big fan of the lightbulb itself, and I'm happy that I decided to pick one up. But the app needs some help. The design feels straight out of 2008 and the lack of Android Wear support is disappointing. The app does do what is advertised however and works reliably enough.

D70%
by D####:

I like the app features, but choosing exact RGB values isn't easy. If another bulb has a better app, I would probably go with something different in the future. This app doesn't get regular updates to increase my hope for the future. All I would want is a text input box to input exact RGB values. Also, being able to synch app customizations to a server would make handing the controls over to a different device easier. The bulb could turn on/off depending on Bluetooth signal and perhaps location if necessary

D70%
by D####:

"location service is off. please enable it to find the nearby ble devices." Why does it need location service on? It didn't before in the previous version. Stop being creepy, take that requirement out and then I'll give a better review/rating.
