평강교회 홈페이지를 방문해 주신 것을 주님의 이름으로 환영합니다.
인생이란 그저 태어나서 적당히 공부하고 그럭저럭 직장생활하며 결혼하고 자식 기르다가 때가되면 세상을 떠나는 것이 결단코 아닙니다.

그런 무의미한 인생으로 살아서는 안됩니다.

내가 왜 태어났으며 어떻게 살다 어디로 가야할 것인지 분명한 물음이 있어야 하고 그에 대한 대답을 가지고 있어야 인생이 방황하지 않습니다.

하나님은 당신을 향한 소중한 계획이 있으시고 그 계획을 따라서 당신을 이 세상에 보내셨습니다.

그리고 부르심 앞에 하나님께서 내게 부여하신 사명을 찾아 이루어가야만 합니다.
여러분이나 저나 우리 모두는 바로 하나님께서 피로 값주고 세우신 평강교회로 부름을 받았습니다.
이곳에서 우리는 더불어 일어나 새 백성, 새사역, 새 교회로 전진해 나가야 합니다.
이를 위해 하나님께서 저를 3대 담임목사로 보내셨습니다.
목사의 존재 가치는 교회를 세우는 것입니다.
그런데 교회를 세우되 어떤 교회를 세우느냐가 관건입니다.

마이클 그리피스(Michael Griffiths)는 말하기를 “우리는 교회가 단순히 임의적인 은혜의 수단이 아니라 하나님께서는 그 자체가 목적이 되도록 의도하셨다는 사실을 분명히 해야만 한다”고 했습니다.

교회는 수단이 아니라 목적이라는 사실입니다.

많은 목회자나 교인들이 교회를 자꾸 은혜를 받는 수단으로 생각하고 접근을 합니다만 하나님은 교회를 그렇게 세우지 않으셨습니다.

은혜를 끼치는 수단에서 하나님이 기뻐하시는 교회로 패러다임이 바뀌어야 합니다.
하나님이 왜 교회를 세우셨습니까?
하나님이 교회를 세우시고 그 교회에 의도하시는 바가 무엇입니까?
저와 평강 공동체 여러분 모두들은 바른 교회, 바른 신자가 되기 위해서 공동노력을 해야 하고 고칠 것은 과감하게 고치고, 새롭게 변화되어야 할 부분은 희생을 감수하고서라도 주님이 고안하신 성경적인 교회, 신령한 교회, 건강한 교회를 만들어야 합니다.

이것은 가장 위대한 발견 중의 하나일 것입니다.
홍수속에 정작 마실 물이 없듯이 교회의 홍수 설교의 홍수속에 오히려 많은 사람들이 목말라 하고 있습니다.
우리 평강교회는 교회다운 교회, 목사다운 목사, 성도다운 성도로 세워져 갈 것입니다.

하나님이 디자인 하신 교회,
예수님이 의도하는 교회,
성령님이 이끄시는 교회,
교회 중의 교회,

교회다운 교회로 우뚝 세워져 하나님이 기뻐하시고 땅끝까지 복음을 전하며 다음세대에 가치 있는 교회를 물려주는 것입니다.

우리 모두 다 함께 이런 교회를 세워나가 봅시다.
여러분 모두를 주님의 이름으로 사랑하고 축복합니다.
