My Life as a Refugee

For a ngo of such global capacity better effort could have been put forward in designing this app to achieve the outcome of increased empathy towards the refugee crisis. The graphics were poor and the automated responses doesn't necessarily generate that sense of understanding in the refugee crisis.

I live in third world coutry. I know how it feels with so called poverty, wars, lack of chance in finding good jobs etc. Just need to make this game more interesting to play.

Wow. Hard to imagine having to make such life-altering decisions so quickly. You have 13 seconds...

Teaches you alot about the struggles refugees go through

It does not fulfill's the idea with which I installed it. But still you can give it a try

The idea behind this game is monumental, but only if it can in fact be played like a game. It must also be socially interactive, though this will dredge up underlying resentments between users. Nevertheless I believe that is, in some ways, the point; the existence of refugees at all is a blight on science, religion, and society. Humanizing the dehumanized is the point yes?

Used to show examples of hard choices. "Gameplay" could put more pressure of time limit to make choices - helpful if there were audio options for under 10yrs who sometimes distrust the small text. Everyone showed seemed to think a little more that refugees are just people.

Nevertheless, this app is to be recommended as it virtually puts you in the situation of fellow humans who have to flee their homes for one reason or another. I hope this makes people realize the hardship of the life as a refugee.

The app is a must have for all that wonder why we should have a heart of love towards other people. Great work!

Very good app to understand the pain of refuges

It's very good application giving you the sense of fear of what is going to heppen then...

At first, I did not like the idea of there being a game in which you 'are' a refugee and click through tasks and see if you can manage to get to a 'safe spot', as it simplifies many aspects of their hardship. Whatever choice you make, the story goes on the same. You wait for your brother? He gets caught anyways. You stop at your uncle's? No one's there. An ebook or a motion comic would have been better. And I gained no new knowledge nor empathy from this app,because the feelings and thoughts of the characters are never really developed. You would expect more from one of the most famous humanitarian organisations.

This game puts into perspective what it's like to have to fight to keep yourself and your loved ones alive. This game was very moving. I loved it.

I'm giving this a 5 because the cause is important. Very creative way to share the need.

Lesson learned: run to border at all cost and look for UNHCR assistant

Add some more stories it is too short.

its good to learn how refugees work hard to save their family to escape to better places where they are safe and can live without fear i love this app because it helps people become aware of the problems that many people face everyday

Good informations and good scenerios

Brilliant.. very dead on with all the situations. . I rate it only 4 stars, because the game doesn't offer you many options and the storyline for each individual is way too fast (beat all story lines under 10 Minutes)

Great narrative that seems to capture how a real refugee would make difficult choices and brings attention to the reality of what happens to children and families. Brilliant app.
