Didn't syncronise with the files on my pc. Couldn't add my password. Luckily Aldiko is working perfectly so I can read my expensive e-book where and when I like. 6 Stars to Aldiko. 0 to Adobe if I could!

W70%
by W####:

Kindle has nothing to worry about. Slow, buggy, inconvenient. Truly abysmal.

M70%
by M####:

Absolute garbage, not taking any of the good ideas that other ereaders have. These clowns spend all their development money on drm when they should be adding features

M70%
by M####:

My biggest problem with this app is that it doesn't synchronize with all my devices... I can only read from the device I downloaded from.. please change this

This app is trash.

I70%

Doesn't open any epub3

Y70%

Needs a lot of improvements. When you try to select words or sentences, it is somehow off, which is pretty annoying. This app also doesn't allow you to highlight when you use zoom, so highlighting something is extremely frustrating. This also does not have a dictionary, which is Inconvenient. I'm forced to use this app for an electric copy of textbook for my course, but I reslly wish I had an option as this app is basically useless.

M70%
by M####:

Authorized the app for overdrive, borrowed a book, downloaded the book, but still can't read the book. Does not show up in the ade app. Wasn't going to review yet, thought emailing them would be better to start, but my email is not on their authorized recipient list, so they don't receive my emails. Useless app, lousy customer service.

Q70%
by Q####:

This app will not work with my cloud library or overdrive and you can't use other epub readers for these services because of some sort of copyright protection. If an app or service is going to have such a bizarre monopoly it really should be functional. I can't download any ebooks from my library now, and I know I'm not the only one.

M70%
by M####:

Required for secure pdf's, this app does a decent job on one machine. Fits page to screen, a big plus over Google Books. But where Google lets you sign in and use your stuff anywhere, just as you do at home, Adobe only works on one machine, and the only until you try to add a second. Big fail, as usual for this company.

J70%
by J####:

Downloaded just so I could give it an awful review. Even the PC version is absolute garbage and does not respond. Crashes constantly. It would be faster to find a book in a library than to wait for this app/program to respond.

H70%
by H####:

As pretty much everyone else has said, this is just horrible. I had to give it a shot because for my library was too cheap to buy some books in a decent format. The app itself is no help at all but apparently you need a desktop to download your book first if you have a tablet and not an ereader.

X70%
by X####:

This has very few options to do anything. Most annoying to me is that it let's you login with your overDrive ID but then doesn't let you open books you've checked out with overDrive elsewhere telling you instead that the licence is already in use. Considering overdrive and Adobe partnered on the development of this DRM system it's unforgivable that they can't work together so you can share licences between devices or sync reading progress.

M70%
by M####:

I downloaded '.acsm' files and I dont even get the option to open with ADE. I even have local epub files that I couldn't access. The app is too simplistic and not working. A few options to select acsm and epub would maybe work. Thanks

Downloaded from Google Play Store onto compatible Asus Chromebook Flip C100PA and successfully authorized with my Adobe Digital Editions account. That's about the only thing this app would let me do successfully. The automatically downloaded ADE Getting Started document was the only thing in my library, even with autodownload turned on. When I tried to open the ADE Getting Started document, the screen just turned white - no text, no scrolling, no full screen mode, no nothing... until I hit the escape key to return main library screen. After trying for 20 minutes, I unauthorized and uninstalled this app.

Extremely frustrating app. Barely functional on my Samsung tablet. Crashes constantly and slow to respond on larger docs. Hope to see this on par with Reader soon but hard to recommend until then.

O70%
by O####:

Slow, unresponsive and buggy. This app won't work at all unless you have a broadband connection. With 3G, it chokes on authentication and won't download. With a faster connection, it only appears to cache a few pages, and paging to previous pages is terribly slow - it reloads them from their server. You cannot page quickly forward without waiting for each page to load slowwwwly. I also get entirely blank pages at times. I can't access normal Android controls while the app is running. Controls are available by tapping (and tapping, and tapping. Did I mention slow and unresponsive?) the center and selecting "library" from a menu. Then the Android controls show up. This is by far the worst reading app I've encountered. I only use it because some digital libraries give me no choice.

M70%
by M####:

Like every other reviewer says ADE doesn't let you log in on multiple devices and access your content. Not to mention if you download .ascm files there is no option to open them or import them into ADE. This has been going on for months and they still haven't fixed it which baffles me. Every other company seems to have no problem creating an easy to use, multiple device, successful software but not Adobe. Adobe please fix this, it's ridiculous your customers have been asking you to for this long.

It works on laptop but not on android. Only able to see the stupid guidebook that came bundled with the app. Publishers should abandon Adobe as their partner. Where the hell is my purchased ebooks? Why i can not see my books even after download on my phone??? I've restarted, uninstalled and reinstalled .. everything. Fix this now!

B70%

This app cannot open any valid DRM-free epub files or PDF files on my authenticated mobile device. This is truly the most pathetic and irritating app I have ever downloaded on any device!

M70%
by M####:

What a piece of crap. Library on PC won't sync with the DE android app. There is not even a way to add a file to the library. Such a basic thing. The DE forum is full of people with the same issue all unanswered. Thanks Adobe for the DRM. No wonder everyone scrubs it.

by N####:

Says it's installed, but it's not on my computer. Then it gives messages it's not compatible, although I followed the links for my computer. It's taken my entire lunch hour to try to download Overdrive and then create an Adobe Id and then try to download the reader to try, UNSUCCESSFULLY, to continue reading the book I was reading on my Ipad and/or Ipod which I left at home. No luck! What a pain. The overdrive ap doesn't show my account doesn't show my loans although I'm logged in, and the Adobe Digital Editions is completely AWOL! The guy who wrote these things crash as often as a blind cat riding a motorcycle was completely correct! What a waste of time for something that would take 2 minutes on an Ipod or Ipad. Who's to blame? Windows, I guess. My new computer has less functionality than an 8 year old ipod (gen 2)! No reading for me today!

M70%
by M####:

Purported to be the app for being able to read protected docs from one device to another. Rubbish. Can't export from one to another and despite following the instructions to the letter, even authorising devices and looking in the cloud doesn't help. Thank god I didn't have to pay.

W70%

I purchased a book on Takealot and was under the impression I could read it from any device as long as I had authorized my Digital Editions with my ID and password. I am unable to transfer the book to my phone. Please make this more user friendly.

M70%
by M####:

Terrible. I downloaded an acsm file and there's no option to import it into the app, nor any other file. Give us a file explorer

H70%
by H####:

Unusable. Logon screen has no way to check password or even see each letter on Nexus 5. Could never get successful registration

Y70%
by Y####:

I love the app. My only problem with it is that it doesn't have an inbuilt dictionary or supports one. The app doesn't import epubs and pdfs automatically. It's recommended that you add ebooks to it with the PC. I think I find this suggestion rather cumbersome and I have a way out. If you don't have X-Plore file explorer on your Android device, simply download and install it. Open it and locate the folder containing your ebooks. Tap on the ebook you want to read. If you have many apps that can open the ebook, just select Adobe Digital Editions (ADE) and the ebook opens. You don't have to repeat this process next time you want to read the same book because the ebook is automatically on your ADE bookshelf. Follow this guide for any ebook you want to read with ADE.

I70%
by I####:

Two column mode missing; desperately needed in landscape mode. Bad rating given only in an attempt to garner developers' attention. Excellent app otherwise.

N70%
by N####:

Terrible scam. What's the point of copyrighted pdfs when it's impossible to read them legally? Will never give a single dollar to adobe

R70%
by R####:

The biggest gripe that i have with this app is that it is very inconvinient to read in it. If only this app had the ease of use of adobe reader. You cant expect to red books on the mobile unless you zoom, and ideally, you should be able the scroll the pages while zoomed. But this is not possible in this app. You have to exit zoom, before scrolling. Add to that is the slow searching. The app sometimes becomes unresponsive while searching.
