Did you just jam your instrument like a genius, but hadn`t recorded it? Don`t worry, just use the app and listen to your geniality again! Past Recorder gives you the ability to play back up to 10 minutes of any sound, that your device`s microphone has picked up; crop the audio wave, save the recording, and even share it.
In addition, Past Recorder completely protects your device`s microphone privacy. While usually the microphone is available to any app that has been given permission to it, and these apps listen and analyse everything they hear to better suit your personalised ad content - enabling Past Recorder ensures that you have the exclusive access to your microphone, and that you are the only one listening.
Past Recorder does not ask for Internet permissions - so your recordings never leave your phone, and your privacy remains completely protected. Only 10 minutes are stored at a time, so your memory will be but very slightly affected.

Potentially great, it does what it says, but I had to uninstall because it "hugs" the microphone and therefore the Google Assistant doesn't work anymore, too bad....

Exactly what I needed. As a musician I always regret not recording some improvised pieces that came out nicely. A bit of a battery consumer but its worth it so far

Great app! One question though: Can I use this app with an external usb sound adapter? I like to record stuff with an external microphone..

This app is "Fantastic!" My most sincere compliments to it's developer(s) for being so creative, and thinking "outside the box", in the creation of such a unique app. As stated in it's description, it's uses are infinite to the imagination of it's user. Personally; (A'hemm!...), "I've heard" it has uses in covert, law enforcement applications. As well as it's value in helping to prove, and resolve, issues of what may have been recently said or done. (Allegations.) Or; simply on a more practical note, allow individuals who may have forgotten the specifics of a conversation, to refresh their memory. - Being security conscious, it's comforting to know that there are No permissions or requirements for internet access that would compromise one's privacy. Allowing the settings option to disengage when using a call recorder, showed great foresight. If I could offer but one recommendation, it would be this: Though I like it's ability to override the microphone use from all other potentially unauthorized applications, if/when technologically possible, it would be great to have a setting that would allow you to choose which other applications to share the microphone with; such as, a virtual assistant or Bluetooth. Other than that,... I couldn't ask for more. - And finally, in an industry where greed is all too often prevalent, I would like to express my gratitude to Aljeers for making this app completely Free; simply out of the desire to help others, and make one's world a better place. May your kindness and generosity be returned upon you many times over.
