I love this app. It makes it easier for everyone in the house. We feel way more safer now that we can check our cameras live from our phones and we can arm and disarm our system from anywhere in the world. I love this app but i wish there was a way that we could bypass sensors right from this app. I think that would be the only thing that this app needs to be 110%.

On the phone with Vivint for more than an hour for a simple password reset. System never worked as I wanted, and they charge to fix their own faulty equipment. Representative was trying his best but Vivint couldn't figure it out for him to keep a happy customer. This classic app needs work too.

I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND VIVINT TO ANYBODY, EVER! Vivint is unable to maintain connection with their system in our house. They even installed a signal booster in an attempt to improve the system connectivity. There should be an automatic system in the alarm center that continously tests each alarm. When it detects a disconnect between systems it automatically routes the information to a technician or to a call center to check on the people paying for an ineffective service

We have had Vivint for years now. Getting ready to change. Over time the service gradually got worse. Controlling any of the lights, thermostsat, door locks and camera all not working anymore. Everytime they come out they want to charge a service fee. The smoke sensor, fire detector and police alarms go off for no reason. We have gotten charged for false alarms many times. We just trying to figure who to go with now.

The app used to give better descriptions of sensors that were activated. 'front door open' 'front door closed' 'front door open/closed' 'kitchen sensor idle' for example. Now it says things like 'sensor 0 open/closed' at some point an update to the app changed things and I can no longer tell what sensors are being used. Tonight, the alarm panel chimed as if a door had been opened. We didn't catch which sensor it said opened, so I looked at the app and saw 'sensor 0 opened/closed' which helped no

I have had this system for a few years now. I can not control light dimmers and I keep getting notice that light dimmer wasn't active. I have the vivint light modules but this app is missing that feature. What a rip off. Contacted ADT to have this system removed. So long VIVINT. I discontinued my service and still got billed for an additional month. This company is a rip off.

Thermostat feature giving problems. If I change the thermostat on the wall from a/c to heat or heat to a/c and leave and check the app even when refreshing it it won't update. The app will only show the last setting changed on the app. Just started within the last week or so. Not good when you have pets at home that need to stay cool or warm. Also cannot change the swing setting from app. Using app on a Galaxy s7 edge.

Honestly don't turn on the system every night, but it's a great way to keep an eye on my house while I'm at work. I also love the medical / emergency alert button for my elderly mom who's home alone for most of the day. Can't say I like the false alarms when I forget to disarm it in mornings. 4 of 5 stars for me.

When we first signed on, everything worked great. After we we renewed (for longer period) the video hasn't worked for over 8 months. I called them. First time on 2.24.2016. An they couldn't fix over the phone. Therefore, I was told it was an phone problem n take it to them, phone company can't fix it, it's vivints problem, call them. They basically have you running in circles. Now it doesn't work on my wife's phone, or my tablet!! He'll n back and still not working, can't get it fixed, can't get any service

I was asked to take a survey a week ago and was very honest. I have been waiting on bad sensors for replacement almost 18 months. Now, since my survey, false alarms and app issues have been going crazy. Coincidence???

Works flawlessly. .. Granted found I had a old 2g cell panel but they changed to 3g and now it works 99% of the time....like it alot...esp when leaving house and not having to race the timer...haha

Thermostat problems all the time. Will not auto start when temperature falls below set temperature. Temperature will change on app screen but not on house thermostat.

The app will constantly hang on a sensor. Close the house. Control panel or computer says no prob, but the app says window... or door... Something else, the app takes forever to update any change in system status, especially from the thermostat. Yet another thing I dislike is the white background. If there's any problem at night, that bright white screen will RUIN your ability to see in your dark home. There's more, but I'm out of space here. Good luck, you'll neec it if you use this app.

My only problem with this loan company is that my alarm is old and I'm moving, and they want me to pay so much money for a new one and charging for installation fee. So look out when you sign a contract for years is a long time to get screwed at the end have a good day.

This app used to work fine until I had to restore my phone now I'm unable to log on. The app keeps telling me that my user and password is incorrect I have changed it and still unable to log on. I contacted vivint technical support and they tride but where unable to fix the issue,told me that it's my phone that it's old, my wife has the same phone Galaxy note 2 and the app works fine. Don't what to do

My husband and I have different cell phones and the Vivint App works on neither. What a disappointment!!!

mobile control screen recently shows only top 1/2 of target temp making it difficult to turn down. This happens even if the thermostat screen is the only one showing. Otherwise I absolutely love it.

All of a sudden it doesn't update the app to show if the system is armed or not. It always shows disarmed even when it was manually armed at the panel. Nothing is working on the app, when you send a command it never goes through. Vivint wanted me to pay them for a service call to check the control panel, but that's not gonna happen. I'll be getting rid of it soon since adt is a bit cheaper anyway

This could be the very worst app I have ever TRIED to use. It does not offer a way to reset password or get any other type of assistance it will not communicate with the thermostat and frequentky sets temperature whatever it feels like. It makes me reconsider my entire account.

I like the Vivint service but the app isn't that good. It's been a while since it's had an update. The UI has a dated look. It won't display all my sensors that I have in my house. And the push notifications don't work.

Basically works well. Can take up to a minute for a change you apply at times other times its only a few moments. No other complaints happy with the app / alarm system.

Poor quality in cameras. Can never get cameras to record, so i could review them when im away from home. They got a lot of changes to make for this app.

All the alarm and control functions work absolutely flawlessly, but "contacting support" seems to take you nowhere??? Although, now that I think about, trying to get support -- through any channel -- takes you nowhere as well. As such, the app gets FIVE stars, but Vivint Support gets ONE.

Setting alarms and checking the crappy camera works, but that's it. Using the locks is dodgy at best and the thermostat is useless. Tried to set a schedule with the thermostat and it won't save any set point higher than 35℉, (2 ℃) what a waste

Since the last update the app crashes every time I try to view the camera feed. Makes me feel less safe when leaving my home. Please fix soon.

Please update the ui. This is one of the ugliest apps I've seen lately. The iPhone version was shown some love. Your sky version was shown some love. Show us go control users some love please? The system isn't that old.

Edit: 2 years later and still can't bypass sensors from the app. || Overall a useful app. Response time when disarming and unlocking a door can be a tad slow. Increasing response time and being able to set a sensor as bypassed when arming would make this 5 star.

App does not always work so when your alarm is stuck "on" when you enter home alarm sounds. disturbing neighbors. ever hear of the lil boy who cried wolf?! so neighbors start to ignore it as well as company does when alarm goes off!

Agreed to have 5-year contract, my tenants live in my house now, they have a 2-year contract with vivint now, so now vivint charges me and my tenant for the same house! They wouldn't stop charging me, giving me round abouts how to "attempt" to cancel my contract but the answer is always no from them. There are quite a few cases like mine where vivint wouldn't let you off the contract no matter what, I Googled them. Careful when agree to sign a deal with this company. I so don't recommend this company.
