AlexFM aims to serve the best interests of the greater community of approximately according to the latest RAMS release by www.sarrf.co.za , 150 000 listeners who have come to rely on our familiar voices across the airwaves. We provide our listeners with the detailed, accurate and impartial information ,playing an immensely important role in keeping the community up to date with breaking news that occurs , not only in Alexandra, but also within South Africa and around the world. AlexFM broadcasts programmes mainly on topical issues that are pertinent to challenges and aspirations of listeners, such as domestic violence, crime, immunization, hardships and gowning entrepreneurial economy, to name but a few. Issues of development are discussed in depth and the role of the radio station in this arena cannot be underestimated. There is currently ongoing housing project, infrastructural upgrading, improvement of social services, and in the process job creation initiatives. Despite the ominous challenges facing government, the private sector, organizations and civil society, there are positive developmental signs emerging from the township. One of the major contributing factors is that Alexandra is a nodal point and a presidential lead project. The direct target group are all those keenly listening to our radio station, those deeply affected by the scourge of the township's environment.
