About Tomi Jenkins
Tomi Jenkins Known the world over as one of the original members of one of the top Funk Rock R&B bands of all time, Cameo, Tomi has always been an integral part of the groups success. His distinctive tenor has helped define the groups signature sound as much as partner and co-founder Larry Blackmon's Ow has. He has also co-written, along with Blackmon, many of the groups biggest hits, such as Candy, Word Up, Single Life, Flirt, Back and Forth, “She's Strange” and many others. He released his second solo record in 2009 independently, which he co-produced with friends Marvin Sperling and former Time member Jesse Johnson. A potent mix of tight funk and jazz influenced mid-tempo jams, the CD, entitled The Way, gave Tomi a chance to write and do the music that he felt in his heart.
With his new, self-titled EP, “Tomi”, the singer songwriter, producer has stepped up his game.
With composing and expert track and vocal production assistance from producer Lee Hurst, engineer and producer Greg Charley, producer writer John Crossley and his S&S Entertainment Management crew, along with the legendary Leon Sylvers Jr., Tomi masterfully covers a range of diverse genres.
