How often have you needed to save a phone number that you needed only for a short while?
You would add it to your contact list and clutter your contact list and it keeps growing uncontrollably. It would be difficult to find a contact from all the unwanted numbers that you just needed temporarily.
Or you would not add it to the contact list and struggle through the call history to find that number when you want to give a call back.
A dilemma isn’t it? Qcktag to the rescue!
Every time you complete a call from/to an unknown number, Qcktag will ask you for a quick tag you can attach to the phone number. Tagged numbers are not sent to the contact list, but are accessible through the main Qcktag application.
Free version is limited to 6 tags. Upgrade to Pro for unlimited tags.

• Option for either a notification or a popup asking for the tag
• ‘Tag Later’ - option to save all numbers as untagged and you can tag them later

A note about permissions:
READ PHONE STATUS – This is needed to detect when you complete a call so that Qcktag can ask for a tag
NEW OUTGOING CALL – To detect when you initiate a new going call. READ_PHONE STATUS does not give me this information.
READ CONTACTS – Qcktag will tag unknown numbers. To check if a dialed number is known or unknown, need to check the contacts list.
WRITE CONTACTS - If tagging existing contact, optionally remove the contact from contact list.
READ CALL LOG - Tag from call history
SYSTEM_ALERT_WINDOW (draw over other apps) - this will be used only if use the caller ID feature.
WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE/READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE - for backup/restore
RECEIVE_SMS - to handle incoming SMS
Qcktag does not provide your personal information to anyone.

Good idea. I was looking to use it for tax deduction substantiation for private, unknown (one-off) number calls. Unfortunately it's of no use unless I can export the call log with tags. Also can't tag "private" numbers even though they are in the call log.

A very good app. Can u add option where I can disable notification option evertime I received an unknown call. Update: Not able to transfer the contact i saved in my old phone to new one. Need a process for that.

It's a really useful app and would have been great of the tag would keep showing for an incoming call till the time call is picked up. Currently it goes of after blinking for 4-5 sec.

I own a moving company and handle a lot of calls. So I was looking for a quick way to save temporary numbers, so they don't clog up my main directory. This app does exactly that and more. It makes retrieving old numbers a breeze. Thanks for the awesome app!

Add option for the notification to disappear automatically after a set time so I can use tags for every call but don't have to dismiss every notification. Automation would perfectly complete this app. Great work dev! EDIT: option added= THE PERFECT APP FOR CONTACTS!

This is a nice little gem to have installed on my phone. It works as it's designed and has a very clean and functional interface (even better with material design elements). Went pro for $2 after a couple of weeks on the free version... Still use it daily.

Sometimes it won't show the caller name which is tagged during an incoming call. But it will show the tagged name for an outgoing call.

If you are in business or you use your phone a lot this is a snazzy little app. I don't know how many times people call for my business that I don't want to make a personal contact BUT while cunducting business; sometimes for days on end, I like to have their temp number in a handy data base ready to dial. At any time. This program intergrates with the call log and memory window you can pull down on android, quickly adding or assigning their name, business name or whatever. No more looking thru phone logs.
