Bustarviejo

La villa de Bustarviejo es un municipio español situado en la Sierra Norte de la Comunidad de Madrid. Bustarviejo se asienta en las faldas de la Sierra de Guadarrama, en su vertiente meridional. Junto a las montañas, y con un valle frondoso, dista unos 60 km de Madrid.

En otros tiempos villa rica y de gran importancia en la zona, fue perdiendo poder y prácticamente fue olvidado por los capitalinos, hasta que fue redescubierto como lugar de veraneo. Precisamente ese «olvido» fue el que le hizo conservar el carácter de pueblo serrano. Sin embargo, en las últimas décadas del s. XX, al igual que en gran parte de la Sierra, se vivió un auge en la construcción de chalés y pisos, esencialmente como segunda residencia.

The village of Bustarviejo is a Spanish municipality located in the Sierra Norte de Madrid. Bustarviejo sits in the foothills of the Sierra de Guadarrama, in its southern slope. Next to the mountains, and lush valley, it is about 60 km from Madrid.

At other times Villa Rica and of great importance in the area, he was losing power and was virtually forgotten by the capital until it was rediscovered as a summer resort. Precisely this "forgetting" was made to retain the character of mountain village. However, in the last decades of s. XX, as in much of the Sierra, a boom in the construction of villas and apartments were lived essentially as a second home.
