Radio Cadena Mi Gente es más que una radio, fue creada con el objetivo de contribuir a la cultura, información y desarrollo de la sociedad salvadoreña.

Cambia la manera de hacer comunicación en nuestro país.

Es un referente obligado para informarse y formarse una opinión acerca de lo que pasa en la nación y en el mundo para muchas personas que diariamente, desde las 6 de la mañana escuchan sus trasmisiones. Promueve la participación de los ciudadanos y defiende su interés; hace de la esperanza su primera propuesta; informa verazmente; ayuda a entender y resolver los mil y un problemas de la vida cotidiana; en sus programas se debaten ideas, se respetan todas las opiniones; se aspira a que la mujer y la juventud juegue un papel importante en la comunicación. La radio no se somete a la lógica del dinero, no tiene fines lucrativos su finalidad es distinta, sus mejores energías están puestas al servicio de la sociedad civil.

Un servicio altamente político: se tata de influir en la opinión publica, de crear consenso. La radio permite expresarse a los que no tienen voz, sirve de portavoz de los oprimidos y, en general, ofrece herramientas para comprender la realidad y cómo cambiarla. El objetivo de la radio no es el de hacer algo por la comunidad, es, mas bien, el de dar una oportunidad a la comunidad para que haga algo por ella misma. Es una forma no comercial, de entender que la radio a través de su voces, su música o su silencio puede y debe llevar información veraz y accesible a la población para que, de una manera sencilla pero profunda a la vez, puede comprender la realidad del entorno y las consecuencias de las acciones. El objetivo principal de estos programas es dar a los y las oyentes- participantes herramientas para que puedan comprender los hechos, sus causas y sus consecuencias, de manera que se pueda facilitar su participación en la vida social, económica y política, tanto dentro de su comunidad como en el ámbito nacional.

Diariamente se reciben innumerables llamadas telefónicas de inquietos oyentes pues hacemos una comunicación de doble entrada, cualidades que una sin la otra terminarían inevitablemente en el vacio: la primera cualidad la ponemos los que conducimos los programas con la información y el análisis que compartimos con los oyentes y la segunda cualidad es el dialogo que tenemos con los radioyentes cuando nos hablan desde El Salvador profundo. Con seguridad, se hace vida, se hace real el hecho de que la comunicación tiene esquina con la palabra comunidad y el camino se abre cuando ambas apuntan a un destino la transformación de la sociedad para conseguir la justicia social y el bienestar de la comunidad.
