Lousy! Audubon should be ashamed! Constant log in problems. Why don't you fix it? Bird brains!

Using HTC Desire Eye when voice is open the icon next to each song keeps spinning so it's never possible to hear any of the voices for any bird. That's not helpful.

This is a revision of a previous two star rating. Audubon has sourced this out to a new company and all programs are now up to date and work well and are worth the price.

This app used to work on previous phones, but now it's out and out trash and you cannot get your money back. I would give it 0 stars if I could. Pass.

I have been using this app for years and I love it. The quality of the photos is much improved with this update. I have a great guide book, too, but this app is fabulous for songs and calls as well as photos for IDs. I have used this app on 4 different phones and haven't had any crashing issues.

Q70%
by Q####:

First the default location is New York. Then when I turn on location it does nothing. Then when I manually moved the cursor to report a sighting it actually posted my address, despite being unable to find my town. Edit: Removing another star because developer insists it is fixed when it's really not. Maybe work on your app instead of arguing with people on the internet?

B70%
by B####:

A good-size database but not searchable except by name. If I knew the name, I probably wouldn't need an Audubon guide to find pictures of a bird. Where are the categories? Even something simple like sea birds, fresh water birds, shore birds, inland birds. Give us something. Also, this is a California birds app but the default location was set to Vermont? When I asked to see sightings of nearby birds, it showed me California birds. This is NOT helpful. I'm willing to pay for database features. Right now it is just a picture encyclopedia and not a field spotter's guide which most birders are going to be expecting.

Never had a problem on my previous phone, but since I moved to the S3 it only works for a few weeks at a time then has to be reinstalled. Not convenient when you're out in the boonies.

its for the BIRDS CAUSE IT KEEPS CRASHING! This application constantly crashes on a brand new Samsung Note II with the latest updates applied as of 1-12-13. Very frustrating. It begins to load, then crashes and asks to send a report or cancel. I have sent several reports and wrote to support who basically stated (and I quote) "We are aware of some force close issues with the app and are working on improving them. It varies based on processor speed, type of device, memory, and storage..etc). I found this unacceptable as the app should not be sold if it won't work on the latest technology. Samsung (like Microsoft) should have a certification of some sort that it is "Samsung Compatible" or list Min Requirements, regardless. The only solution I have found is to uninstall then reinstall however its a 313 MB download and after 3 of these I've used a Gig of data. Don't get me wrong, its a great app especially the quality of birds sounds, voice activated search is tremendously advantageous (lacks GPS and the My Content section needs a lot of work) but completely useless if it constantly crashes. BirdLog and iBirdPro don't have these issues at all.

Wouldn't be able to know since it never works. I purchased this app nearly a year ago and since then I have not been able to use it because it doesn't work. A pop up always appears saying, "unfortunately birds of California has stopped." And yes I have tried reporting this. I'm using a Galaxy Note III, have used an HTC and Galaxy III and neither phone has it worked. If there was a no star option I would have selected that. Please fix or money back.

The negative comments are well deserved. I have Galaxy Note 10.1 and crashes it as well. What exactly does it actually run on? If not my tablet then wh does your app load on my device? Audobon should be ashamed over such trash using thier good name!

This app still works if I don't download the database on my Galaxy S3 but it used to work with the database downloaded. Now I have to be connected to Wi-Fi or use up data in order to see details. They will fix it, but irritating for now.
