Avira Antivirus Security

Likes Avira on my desktop so downloaded this. Seems to work fine. Except I have never found it to detect anything or restrict anything suspicious. Makes me wonder if it is really working well. Edit: Sorry but I believe it is essential for the user to know when their device was infected, and with what it was infected with. I definitely would NEED to know all of that. That would help me figure when and how my device was infected and what I would need to do to prevent that or address it's possible implication such as needing to change my passwords again. Information is power not "trouble".

I was well pleased with Avira; however, after the very attractive update, this app is no longer licensed for my 5.1 Lollipop Acer Iconia One 10 tablet. Also, when scanning apps, my system UI stops running at 55% of the scan. I had no choice but to install from my tablet. As of this date, it is still functioning on my Moto G 5.1 phone. This is a good security product but may not work on all devices.

I've used the Avira AV app for a few months now and it's kept me protected while online. I also use the Avira Optimizer and that is really useful and reliable too, neither ever seem to crash. I particularly like the blacklist option on Optimizer, great for blocking nuisance callers!

Paid for pro version, wont connect to server to upgrade, still got adds, it still took my money tho, what kinda antivirus wont connect to its server, BullS@&t, and, no, i wont send you this info or that info, or any kind of info, I should'nt have to, so dont send me any BS emails lookin for info, uninstalled, and still no refund, Fu@&in crap.... Update... Since i paid... I gave it another chanch.... Guess what,..... Virus wont update. Like i said the first time,,,, the app is crap.....here we go...... again......Virus wont update automatically. Ffs.. .need i say more....here we go again... Antivirus wont update automatically..... And again..... Will not update and now... Will not scan.. Will keep untill my subscription runs out in december... Then NEVER AGAIN

Was perfect for a long time, but lately going crazy. Always rates the Airbnb app as dangerous, and even though I select to ignore this issue the app does not do that but signals again and again that it detected this issue and I cannot quit the Avira app im any way. As said, it used to be amazing, but now it is just going crazy...

New UI is awful compared to the old one. It looks too bland, the privacy score looks unidentifiable. Also I can no longer see how many apps are being scanned because it's now just a blue bar. Finally, there's adverts everywhere - whether it being Avira ads or Google ads they're really annoying - some of the avira images have been made to big for the app so they stretch off the screen. **EDIT 11/7/17** I have just updated and added another star because I'm beginning to get on with the new UI. I am still wondering over the bland privacy score, which is only "30". I think it should be higher because I have everything enabled. If you look further into the app, you find the older UI (in the privacy advisor) which I loved (5*). Still, too many ads for other Apps, a whole tab labeled "More" - and they will give you notifications for these apps too if you don't disable them!

The app is perfect in detection, speed and interface and earns 5 stars easily; however, if you have a question and you visit the site's forums to get an answer, DO NOT USE YOUR PHONE FOR THAT as screen scrolling works only 10% of the time when filling in forms. Instead use your computer. Otherwise the POWER is strong with this app; go on and download it ;-)

I purchased the pro version and was set to auto renew. When time came for it to be renewed the money was deducte from my account but the product did not get renewed so it was just free version. I contacted the support team by email and they fixed it but it keeps going back to the free version and asking me to "Get Pro". Can someone fix this

It still says Dr web space is malware Agent.STW.Gen have scanned with other top antivirus programs have it trusted in privacy but makes no difference trust avira will look into this very annoying with continuous notifications

Good desktop app. Hope mobile version also works fine! Please introduce a new feature for removing unwanted files to free up space and speed up our phone!

Your Antivirus freeware or premium on personal computer is better than on mobile device and doesn't find anything because another Antivirus found an Adware but unfortunately don't those Programmer continue any update

I think it is a good thing to have this app, but if you want to use your browser you'll need to pay a $12.00 fee to keep from getting any viruses.

Its better than any other anti virus app but I am not able to fix the issue. After scaning it shows that virus is in my preinstalled system app. Please help me.

Really liked it, I downloaded yesterday on my PC and register but when I downloaded it to my phone I couldn't log in to my account I created yesterday so now it looks like I have two accounts to keep track of, thinking it's easier to have one account especially if I was to purchase the full version would like to see all my items on one page

Is avira getting lazy at the top? Hope not, want them at the top forever.. Biggest issue is; More people would get Pro like my mom whom I almost talked into it "if" the pro didn't take u to twenty other apps that also are kinked in the app you already paid for yearly to pay again. Make you feel like your being robbed. Business wise, sucks. I mean you have to pay for other stuff linked into what you paid for.. Hahh! That is killing Avira. As an Antivirus this is amazing and still probably number 1 for now! Watch out for Comodo security though as well as a few that don't make u pay for twenty apps on top of the yearly fee being the way folks think.. Keep them separate or make it one package. I don't want my drop down to say activate something then make me pay for it when its built-in to the app I just paid for as in this MAIN app.. Its really is a bad biz move.. as its on the way up!! AVIRA....using in blackberry - us millions and millions of users! Never ever sell out to Google play service tramp stamp.. As of now, Avira still the best.. :)

Update available??? The app tells me every 2 weeks that "there is a security update available, just klick here" and if I do it leads me to the App-Store and nothing is available...

Very vague about everything except upselling to you. Gonna buy a better product.

Love it. I've had others but I'm very happy with this one. Runs in the background but doesn't use all my battery or slow my phone down.

Helped delete a malware which kapersky was unable to delete

Nice but after last update have gotten a bunch of notifications from my phone that this app is slowing it down. Have a note 5 and specifically I've had like 56 notifications. Great app though hopefully this fixes.

Got rid of some pop up ad malware on my phone that other apps couldn't "see."

Brilliant, the best antivirus. It picked up malware that other antivirus apps didn't, and dealt with them quickly and effectively. Well worth the annual subscription. DRJ

It needs to allow landscape mode not just portrait. Hate it.

The phone app is very Cook has a lot of stuff and protects well I like it,keep the update simple and make it less space aquireing

It detected viruses like dobsdk, fast cleaner and a clock malware app

With my old device it was running pretty good, got a new smartphone and can't restore the licenses for example secure browsing

Since the latest update, the UI has become completely unresponsive.

I use this service on my PC and my phone. I was motivated to get the app after a 'safe' website directed me to malware packed download website with compulsory download after 15 seconds. This app reassures me and the functions work extremely well. If you want good quality, quick and easy virus protection, use this. The only thing I would complain about is the fact that you need an account to access some functions. Thanks Avira! :-)
