BlancRide is a carpooling app that gives you the ability to catch a ride to exactly where you need to go, when you need to get there. Unlike a taxi, BlancRide takes advantage of the available seats that drivers already have in their cars to ensure complete and total ridesharing! Those available seats have the potential to build a true carpooling community built on being green, while making your commute convenient and cost-efficient.

How It Works

As a driver or passenger, simply post where you’re headed, where you’re leaving from and our app takes care of everything else so that you can carpool with ease. Using an advanced mapping algorithm, BlancRide finds the closest and most convenient match which makes for an effortless and perfect rideshare. Payment? Not a problem. At the end of your ride, the app charges your credit card and emails you a receipt. No awkwardness or having to ask “Can we stop at an ATM?” or “Do you have change for a twenty?”
As a passenger you can:
• Enjoy door-to-door service
• Call your driver for free if you have any concerns
• Pay using the app with your credit card
As a driver, you can:
• Call your passengers for free
• Save money as you take your daily commute by splitting ride costs
NOTE: Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life. We recommend ensuring your phone is plugged into your charger or kept above 50% battery to ensure optimal operation of the BlancRide app.

Pretty well designed. Just installed and waiting to see if it works well. Adding a note to your ride would be nice, like what you're doing and how that affects the ride, and a pickup area (not just address) and a flexibility checkbox.

It's set up a bit weird. I feel like I have to lay and wait for offers instead of actually finding people to drive me. I tried browsing around for drivers and everyone seems to be going everywhere but where I want to go Maybe organize that better and have locations grouped together instead of scrolling through a random jumbled mess. Think of how kijiji separates Mississauga from Etobicoke. It just makes sense.

Great idea, still waiting for critical mass to make it better. Quips: 1) Nice that pickup/destination no longer scroll, but it is tough to make out the full address without clicking on each ride/drive individually. 2) Seems like this latest version only allows browsing rides/drives up to around 8am and then won't show anymore (the refresh wheel will spin, but no more entries will load/display) - that seems like a major bug. 3) Minor - kind of annoying that my phone vibrates when I click the 'date' button while viewing rides/drives. 4) Very minor - typo in the menu. Support has 2 p's, not 3. That's been there for a while - surprised it hasn't been caught. If #2 got fixed, it would be a 4 star rating. If #1 and #2 got fixed, it's a 5 star. Well, at least until I actually use it - though part of that may be due to the bug #2 described above.

BETA VERSION this app is a beta version full of bugs. I can't sign up with Facebook because it is a test app. I can't sign up with phone number because it can't verify. Please work on your app before releasing to the general public we are not guinea pigs, that's what beta communities are for.
