What a splendidly designed and easy to use app. This has reignited my love of walking in the bush and the joy in seeking out the many wonderful birds in my area of Australia. I look forward to getting the premium version when I have a few more observations under my belt.

Excellent app for recording birds, and reptiles, here in Spain. Took a bit of setting up initially, but great support from the developer. Thoroughly recommend! Update: even better now with the free updates!! Thanks, guys!!

Wonderful tool. Really a nice job on design, its as valuable to me as my binoculars and guide. I wouldn't change a thing

Great bit of software, barely scratched the surface and already impressed.

The app is perfect I'm using free version and considering going premium

Just stops working when I try to change to the Entries tab. Resolved myself by uninstall then reinstall... But I've had to do that in the past too, surely should not be necessary

This is the best recording app I have ever used. It is designed for quick and easy use in the field, yet still has strong analysis. The cloud ensures your data is backed up, and made available to other devices you may wish to use. I record observations in the field on my phone and then use my PC for any reporting or analysis, which gives me the best of both worlds. Data synchronisation is fast and efficient and has minimal impact on my data allowance. I would go on but no more space allowed !

R70%
by R####:

The best app I have found for recording bird sightings in the field. No data connection required to enter data. Entries can include additional data such as counts and free text notes. These can be edited as further observations are made. For simple day to day recording, the free version is fine. If you want to record outside Britain or analyse records you probably need premium.

I'm really pleased with this app. I never kept a life list or annual list because I'm just not that organized but this makes it really easy. Can quickly view my list and can search by my locations. I would have spent money on this app and that means a lot!

All worked well until the latest update when the app was wiped and could no longer be found on my phone. Data is supposed to recoverable but not when it doesn't recognise your email address so you can't sign in to your account! Very annoyed!

Just started using it and getting used to the features. It's easy to use, once you get the hang of it, and does exactly what I want it to do, particularly keeping an automatic total of sightings.

I started using this system in 2012. It is so easy to record sightings, not just for birds, but other wildlife as well. Custom lists are a great idea. Very easy to sync between devices, I have it on Windows, Android and iPad. Very happy customer!

This app is simply brilliant. Everything is here to help you record your sightings, analyse what you've seen, view trends/yearlists/county lists/site lists. The interface allows quick access to a new entry, add observations quickly and sync with your phone and pc.

I love this app. I can record what I've seen each day or specific trip, but have an overall species list which is great. Easy to use and free, thank you very much.

I like but is there a way to save a picture of the bird that I took?

Fabulous app. Love the huge number of libraries available.

I have been using the app for almost two years. I love the new features in the free version. Thanks! I have encountered a couple issues. First, I have had a couple crashes over the last few days while birding in El Salvador with no data. As soon as I returned to wifi, it would restart with no data loss. I have since reinstalled. Hopefully that will fix the problem. Also, today I encountered my first miss in the database. I had a lifer in several Lesson's motmots but not yet separated from blue-crowned.

I have recently started using this app again thanks to bird trays failings. I love it shouldn't have swapped over. Great app does all you need it to

B70%

This is far a much better app for logging those sightings then those other technical or over-simplified apps i've tried. It automatically backs up your logs but make note if your password contains capitals! It has a few technical areas to it but its easy and simple enough to work out- so no complaint from me there. (you can even add your own features in too.) But this latest update has a nice suprise, some premium features are now free! This im sure will greatly increace its popularity, if i could this would now have 6 stars. Amazing!!!

I had looked into a record keeping app but previously only found iOS apps. Finding one for Android is good. The app is easy to use and the ability to sync across platforms is a bonus. I am now plodding through 40 years records and hope to come up with a life list before I die.

I have used Bird Journal desktop for many years and find the new app to be a game changer: wherever you are in the world, you can record your sightings/notes and these will be synced to your home PC. Not only that, you can search/filter your previous entries and quickly find whatever it is you are looking for. Still a bit pricey, but highly recommended!

This is a good app but you really need the premium version. The free version lacks any filtering functions so you cannot see month or year lists etc. This is fair enough but the price of £34.99 per year for the full version is prohibitively expensive for me, so I have been forced to look for an alternative.
