On my Nexus 7 I have been using Bluefire Reader for years very successfully until recently. Such a good reading tool until now. When I open anything in my Library it opens then immediately shuts down and returns to the Library list. Is there a fix in sight soon? Or something else I need to do?

Only use if you have to! V poor Indeed. Regularly "refocuses" a page you are reading. V difficult to use landscape mode which means reading a book can become an eyestrain as it won't zoom v much in portrait mode & then jumps about in the page. Also crashes a great deal, especially when searching.

Why does it keep opening so many windows??? I just tried to switch to another app and this app has opened like 10 different windows, NONE of which work! I can't read the book, all the pages are white. Tapping the screen makes it randomly change pages. Trying to search or do ANYTHING makes the app crash. This is horrible! My university insists on using this app to provide us with what few free books we can get, and now I see why.

B70%
by B####:

By far the worst book reader ever. It is almost impossible to remove highlights once made and no instructions given to do so. There is no spoken response either, so no hands free option. No consideration has been made for the modern student at all in this app. Many other issues, download and see for yourself!

What an absolutely terrible waste of an app. I download a protected pdf ebook from ProQuest (I have a subscription to it thanks to Sussex University) and yet when I try and open the .acsm file, it says "no token available to download". Even though I can read it online and have full download access, your app does not let me read it. Think it's gonna make me buy tokens from you? Haha. Think again. Terrible app. Waste of space. Goodbye.

Man this app is ridiculously frustrating. When I turn my tablet sideways to read the text larger, it has NO idea how to respond to gestures. Just trying to scroll down is the biggest chore because it constantly goes back to the previous page (but I'm using my right hand to scroll! How is that even possible!?). Was there any thought put into that at all or is it just a bug? I sincerely hope it wasn't somehow intentional...

E70%
by E####:

Please fix issues with turning pages. It is too sensitive such that when I only quickly touch the page it turns into the next page. Also, when I let go of moving the page up or down it flips to the next page. This makes it difficult to read by having to constantly turn pages back while in the middle of reading. Perhaps allow settings for this.

I'm using the app to read Pdfs from my library on a phone and in landscape view (when the text is actually big enough to read) it keeps flipping to the next page when I try to scroll down. Immensely annoying!

T70%
by T####:

This app is not really helpful at all! Downloaded it because what has been recommended by uni but can't even read anything on the screen.... I'm already wearing glasses and now I have to read the micro texts thanks to this app inability to zoom out.... extremely disappointed!!!

Z70%
by Z####:

The page will flip at the lightest tap causing me to lose my place. After a book expired and I borrowed it again from the EWU library, it refused to download. I would not use it if I didn't have too. If less than one star were possible, I would give it that.

T70%
by T####:

The constant struggle with random focus, zoom outs, random page turns, and horrendous highlight support makes this app virtually useless for reading and keeping notes. The iOS version does not suffer the same pitfalls.

by T####:

I have this on my computer and just started having problems with it. So I downloaded it on my new phone. And was having problems with that. too. It shuts down the document that you are reading and it won't re-open. I really like it on my computer as I have finally started to learn how to use it. I wish you could fix it to work on my cell phone. It is a Samsung S4 btw.

by T####:

This app needs an ability to scale the text without the usual pinch zoom. The default font is painfully small, and going into landscape mode doesn't work properly, as scrolling down means touching the screen, which turns the page. From Adobe, I expected something far better.

T70%
by T####:

Simply doesn't work. Every book I try to read just shows blank pages, and/or the app crashes. I have to use this app to read digital books from my public library, but it turns out I just can't.

T70%
by T####:

If you're unable to open a book because the app keeps crashing, try this....Before uploading the book, switch the browser to Chrome. You do this by touching the three dots next to the site address. Select "switch to Chrome"...then select download to Blue Fire. Problem solved and enjoy.

E70%
by E####:

crashes. virtually zero configuration of reading options. doesn't reflow text. keeps jumping pages. generally poor and wouldn't use it if my library provided another ebook option.

U70%
by U####:

Not bad for a publisher run DRM reader. The swipe between pages is way too sensitive on tablets, though. It looks like they set the page swipe to 1 inch, not scaling it to the width of the device, so I keep changing pages when trying to scroll. Significantly less terrible than MindTap, though.

Had to enter my adobe id, entered the wrong p/w. Thinks I need to authenticate a second user b/c of this. Tried installing/reinstalling, that didn't fix the problem. Not sure why I need to sign the in with adobe anyway.

This is the only app option for accessing my college coursebook. However, each attempt to open it causes the entire app to crash. I'd say to hell with it but I've paid a pretty penny for tuition --- please fix this asap.

I70%
by I####:

Honestly terrible. I'm only using it because it's required by my school library, but I'm actually considering purchasing my book because I can't handle how awful this app is. There was no tutorial, so I had to tap around the screen until a bar finally popped up. The bar had a "settings" icon that suggested that I might have the ability to zoom in/out or change the font, but you can't. You can't view two pages at once. Even if you figure out how annotating is supposed to work, it doesn't.

Absolutely horrendous - completely chokes on large books. Pinch zoom doesn't work on PDF files and there's no text reflow ability. Unfortunately, proquest (also pure garbage) requires this useless app for reading on mobile devices.

I70%
by I####:

Text size can't be changed. Screen jumps like crazy when you touch it in horizontal mode. It can't tell when you want to scroll from turning a page so reading is frustrating. Hate it. Kindle is way better.

T70%

This is the worst app I have ever used. Downloaded it because my University requires it to read supplementary materials. Book pages are all blank. Tried everything and nothing works. What a waste of time

Have used this reader for years without any problems now. Have downloaded a book to asus zenfone 2 and asus 8" tablet and both worked well until now. the zenfone is android 5 and works and the tablet is android 4 and crashes every time you try to open the app. tried delete and reinstall and still will not open. Can't read my book on my tablet while my phone is charging!

Q70%
by Q####:

My ebook media composer 8 could only be opened through this app. The inability to zoom is what killed it for me. The frustration doesn't come from the content, but from the strain trying to simply read. If i want to focus on a particular passage there's absolutely no way to. Because of this its nearly impossible to use on a phone. Use only if you have to.

Q70%
by Q####:

Considering my college uses this app to be able to download ebooks from its library, the app display should be much better optimized according to the device resolution being used. It would be helpful if zooming and resolution settings are optimized for easier reading. Also, Adobe ID seems to have issues verifying accounts within this app. I had to create an Adobe ID with the same email and a new password several times to finally have access.

Q70%
by Q####:

By far best app too bad it cannot import books from kindle or Barnes & noble. As this app has all the features I been looking for the ability to custumize the font and page color to the setting of my choice. A big improvement has been the adobe account finally working and a few things that could be improve is the font preview you can't preview the font wish to use when setting the font to a bigger font and perhaps more fonts to be available would be a good enhancement.

I've had this app for as long as I can remember. After the latest update book in my library are just blank squares no title or pictures and the app just keeps shutting down.

Have been using bluefire for two years, loved it until recent upgrade. Now it keeps shutting down and books fail to load properly. Can't read anymore than one page without shutdown.

L70%

Nexus 7 - anytime I tap anywhere on the screen the page has a 1/3 chance to flip the page, forward or backward it's random, it's infuriating. this happens when I'm just scrolling down too. If that was fixed I wouldn't have an issue.

Used to work fine until recently. I even removed app and reinstalled it. Still get the same error message that it had to close. Not good enough people!

My public library in Charlotte imposes this terrible e-reader on us. YOU CANNOT MAKE THE TEXT LEGIBLE; it's too small even for my very near sighted eyes.
