About OUI MAC
Ever wondered who manufactured the audio system in your car, or what brand of WiFi Access Points is used in your school?
This app identifies vendors/manfacturers of various Bluetooth and WiFi devices in your surrounding. It looks up the Organizationally Unique Identifier (OUI) part of MAC addresses of available devices with the local copy of a publicly available IEEE registry.
It also allows you to easily search for details of each vendor, display vendors address on a map or share details of available devices.
It downloads and stores the entire registry locally (~3 MB of storage space), so it can work completely offline.
The app is ad-free. It requires connection to the Internet for the registry download, WiFi and Bluetooth permissions to get access to the smartphone's radio and access to coarse location to be able to do device discovery (a little bit counter-intuitive, but that's what Google requires).
