About Linksys

Control your Linksys Smart Wi-Fi products, including Velop, from anywhere. Tap into your Wi-Fi: check connected devices, set up guest access, or keep your kids off social networking sites when they should be doing homework.

New app adds support for Velop, a modular system of tri-band connection points that provide seamless, full-strength Wi-Fi for the whole family.

Key Features:
• Remote Access – Access and manage your Wi-Fi from anywhere.
• Dashboard – Quickly view the status of your Wi-Fi.
• Guest Access – Protect your information by giving friends and family internet-only access on a separate guest network.
• Device Prioritization - Decide which devices get Wi-Fi priority for less lag and buffering.
• Parental Controls - Create a safe internet experience for your kids – even if they’re home and you’re not. Restrict access to certain websites or block specific devices from accessing the internet.
System Requirements:
• The Linksys app works with Velop systems and Linksys Smart Wi-Fi routers. To view the full list of supported routers, visit: http://www.LinksysSmartWiFi.com/cloud/ustatic/mobile/supportedRouters.html
• User accounts are created in the app or at http://www.LinksysSmartWiFi.com. Simply associate your account with your Wi-Fi to log in from your devices.
• Compatible with Android 4.0.3 and greater

Our new Velop product line features a setup experience that uses Bluetooth. In Android 6 and higher, apps must request location permissions to use Bluetooth. We don't collect or use any location information in our app.

I am very impressed with the easy setup, the internet priority option, and the way the app allows you to see all of your devices whether they're active or not. It definitely makes a difference during tests and finals for me because there's nothing more frustrating than having your internet connection fail while taking a timed test or final. I wish I had done this a long time ago!!!!!

Why does this app log me all the way out randomly? My phone has a password i dont need to log in to your app every time i need to quickly access my router. At least give me the option. Also this app is lacking in diagnostic tools. I should be able to see the node to node speed at the very least. Simple is great but give us an advanced section with the tools this system lacks

I bought a Linksys router on the hope it would work well with parental controls provided through this app. It worked as advertised for less than a week. Now I "block access" to a device on the app and nothing happens. Hoping that the next firmware update restores what was a great feature.... And one of my main reasons for going to Links.

I can't believe how easy this is to setup. I own 2 of the EA7300 & am looking for more. One is an actual router and the other is setup to be a access point & wireless bridge. Id like to have ONE more extender at home and i am going to be building my office the same way. I really like the ability to blacklist certain devices and i have a few buddies that are self proclaimed hackers. Being able to take down the broadcasting of the SSID is great when they are here so i cam play dumb. Great products.

Truly better than any app Linksys has ever released. It has exactly what you want and ease to get there. I only would want the ability to set a specific time for parent control or at least half our increments. I really could not believe how easy for complex settings it was. I like it better than the routers web interface.

Am I reading this correct that you have to be on your Wifi to control it? Not sure what the purpose is. And if you can connect outside of your Wifi, I'd like to be able to disable it. I wasnt able to get this app to connect to my router. Not too big a deal as I plan on loading DD-WRT on it in a few days.

I honestly don't like using an app to manage my router. You're basically forced to use it. Using web interface is much better because I have more control and there all the features are available that aren't on this app. Please stop forcing people to use an app or make it like web interface! At least let people choose for themselves how they want to manage remote.

Great app for wireless control of affiliated network devices. You can change your router info and account password with this. Awesome. It could use some tweaks tho. Like, the interface needs a website mode. That way you can access all of the settings on the smartwifi website on your phone. Because you can only access a few of them on the app. The linksyssmartwifi website has ALL of the wifi router settings that you can change at will. But the website is not accessible to many browsers or most of the time a message saying to download the app will pop up when attempting to use the website. That's why tweaks to the app are necessary to access all of the router settings.

The app has been updated heavily and now supports full schedule setting from the app. Fantastic progress. Update: Not sure when this happened but now it doesn't refresh correctly and it also shows multiple copies of the same decide. App seems to have really gone down hill

Not a good app. Reconnect 4 times and 4 different number of connected devices. The android device that is connected shows as ofline. It loose connection frequently or can't connect. It can't show you the DHCP List. Can't save the credencials, you have to log in every time. Same problem on 2 devices, Samsung Tab S and LG Power X2.

R70%
by R####:

Full of bugs and limitations... Impossible to add a new device without logging off first... where is the security or the firewall options? Why can't I edit the router name on the devices list? Why would you remove the remote management option from the router if not to inflate this app usage?

Great app, has a lot to manage local wifi. My only complaint is that it's not a full replacement for the web client. Couldn't change IPv4 Or IPv6 information from this app. Please add these extra features in mobile app, so I have no reason to use the web client. Thanks :)

after 3 months of use i've revisited the app and goosed it up to 5 stars. it does everything it's supposed to do and it's my fault i didn't jump on the learning curve sooner. today i'm having speed problems. when the ISP CSR started to tell me to reset the router and modem i told him it aint me because of the app and multiple modem resets. the app is so much better than 192.168.0.1.

Update: This app no longer works for my android, errors and freezing up. I will really miss the way it used to simplify my internet control. My favorite part was the ability to schedule parental controls, per device. Then updates corrupted it... Now it's completely useless :(

Does not work properly. Main point of this app should be for remote access of the network. Works when connected on wifi network but when away, using mobile internet always says either the network is down, or that there is no router connected to the account yet, both of which are wrong since I tried this when at home. Please fix and it deserves 5 stars

So far so good I'm far from tech savvy. I hate my old laptop. Love I can do it all from my phone. Even tells me who's concerted. Able to change pass word for the first time ever owning a route. I'm sure it may have short coming beyond my mental reach. So far I Just wish I could figure out the connected things I don't have names for. Says I have a few Ethernet connections that I have clue about.

The fact that it doesn't have all the features on the web interface makes this app not so useful. Logins are confusing, and as with many apps, log out button is not easy to find. Wish that logs were more easily accessible from app.

I don't feel safe creating an online account to control my local router, why not enable the way to control the router in wifi local way avoiding g the online account, like tplink app? Because the online account makes this to me unsafe that thirt party elements have my credentials to access to my router. Please change that may offer the 2 ways online and just offline wifi local way Update after setup my new wrt1200ac my wifi signal is so strong that I no need my 2th ap as a repeater upstairs. I have to confirm that I can manage the router with the app without create a online account is very useful handy and nice. My only complaint comparing my replaced main router tplink is that the newone can't connect with WDS but thks That is the main router. My Olds tplink can connect to linksys in WDS if I want extend my wifi. For now I'm really satisfied also the DLNA server works on this router with my smart BD and tv finally the main reason to try certified dnla linksys routers.

Pretty useless app. I have a laptop, 2 phones, and 2 tablets connected to my wifi yet the app shows no devices connected. That's on my phone. From my tablet, the app doesn't recognize being connected to my router. It's not doing me much good and just using space, uninstalling.

I'm curious why people are complaining about things that could be probably an outdated firmware issue? The app works fantastic, even allows you to remote control it over the internet, even mobile data.

Superb work! Small issues setting it up but it had nothing to do with the app but some hardware connection. I've use Linksys for years without any major problems. Great stuff! I trust them

Not the most intuitive interface, even slightly muddled at times, but it does its job. Particularly useful if you have to manage multiple boxes.

R70%

This app is very well made, efficient, and convenient. One thing I would recommend is adding a speed test so I can see how fast I am receiving/sending data. I can currently only able to do this on my PC which happens to be hard wired to the router, so I can't get accurate stats showing how well my router is performing.

N70%

Garbage! This does not work if your using your router as an AP. And they conveniently quit supporting chrome mobile. Another reason I'm moving away the the Linksys JUNK!

R70%
by R####:

Fast and easy to use, many of the settings are available through this app even when not on the same network - once set up, the device can be checked and reconfigured over the internet. Sppedtest is a fantastic option to have and helps diagnosing a problem a lot. Keep up the good work - That's why I use Linksys for more than 10 years.

I like that I can control the wifi at home from anywhere. If the kids are sick from school and need to use the internet for schoolwork I can change my parental settings from work...easy peasy. I can set specific hours per device, block specific websites, and even prioritize devices for streaming. Love it.

M70%

Overal very usefull. There are a few bugs like device priority not working due to speed test timing out. Othrrwise I like the convirnce of managing the net work from my phone anywhere.

R70%
by R####:

Great app to go with a great router. I was a bit suspicious of how much useabillatiy a mobile app would have given most routers require a wired connection to change setting. I was very impressed with how much the app would let you change settings. Well done Linksys.

R70%
by R####:

It is a good idea the way this app is suppose to interact with the router. And it worked pretty good before I updated to this latest version. Now, the app is really slow... it opens ok but navigating within it or making any changes, takes a minute... sometimes it doesn't seem to register the tap so you have to tap the selection 3 or 4 times...or maybe it's just that slow processing. Also, when I use Parental Control and block one or more devices, they should be removed from the Connected device list... they do show on the blocked device list under Parental Control but I found it confusing to still have them show on the Connected device list.

R70%

This app doesn't need to exist. My router shouldn't care what browser I use. It should be focused on if I have JavaScript enabled or not. The fact that I'm FORCED to use it is a huge step backwards. Plus it doesn't even allow for for DMZ setup.

R70%
by R####:

Decent app. Allows common things like viewing connection status, rebooting, etc. What's really nice is being able to add custom names to devices and setting bandwidth prioritisation. Docking a star for lack of full control over advanced wifi settings that exist on the device's webpage, and only being able to prioritize 3 devices.

O70%

Absolutely should NOT be required to access my router. I can access all of this and more from my desktop web browser, but using a broswer on my phone is "unsupported", even when requesting the desktop site? BS.

R70%

Awesome!! I like the ability to view connected devices and parental controls! Would've given 5 stars but had trouble setting up as the directions we're not clear on the different types of passwords used to access administration settings and change router settings

X70%

Best app for linking to router I ever had. You know EVERYTHING that is connected to your Wi-Fi or hardline direct. Can't block access with one click. Amazing. just what I needed

C70%

Constant unexpected error messages. The app looks good for a second or two, then takes me to a message screen. Disappointing!

R70%
by R####:

Good options and controls from your phone, very handy. Two issues I have had are that you can't set parental controls in half hour times (i.e. 9:30) and the parental controls seem to be flaky, changes or drops off.

P70%
by P####:

Can't login... load of %$#. Tells me incorrect password for my router. Guess what- it IS the correct password. No typos or anything. Useless app.

C70%
by C####:

Once you've forgotten your router's password(not same as WiFi password) the app is useless. The app isn't important enough for me to reset my router back to factory condition.

R70%
by R####:

Parental controls useless. Cannot choose half hour increments. Will not save schedules. Parental controls autmaticlly turn off daily. Remote control seems gone. Find myself fighting with this app everytime I use it. Came back to linksys bought the ea9500 because of the parental controls I experienced in the past. Now regret.

Have the Galaxy Note 8 and this app works great. I'm using this from work to know if I lose power at my house. So far, I have power at home. This app is awesome...
