This is the crudest, sloppiest app I have ever downloaded on an Android device, much less paid for. It looks like it was written by a 4th grader who is just learning the Android SDK. Even though we are only talking about 99¢, I felt taken. Never mind that it is crude, ugly, awkward, and virtually featureless, this app is to be avoided because it will not work with your existing camera apps as a shutter release, which what I was expecting. Instead, it has to run it's own pathetically limited camera app on the phone. Please don't fall for it like I did. It's garbage. Wait for an existing camera app to add the Gear Fit as a trigger. Oh, and even though you can specify the external SD card for picture storage, it won't store there in Kit Kat. I assume that is the same external card access permission issue all apps are having on Kit Kat.

Refunded because it crashes constantly.

Its the only app that currently lets you take a photo from your phone using the Fit so can't really knock it completely but VERY buggy. If you take a photo with your phone in landscape(which most pictures should be) you have to rotate every photo to view. The view finder on the watch is only half the screen and no way to change it. The constant refresh every second or two on the watch instead of a constant feed is annoying and the refresh stops most of the time after taking a pic. Suggestions for future updates would be to use the native camera app on the phone(I have a Note 4 which has awesome modes) , allow the entire watch screen to be a view finder and allow constant stream feed to watch not an every second refresh. But all that being said it's the only current app providing this functionality so not a bad try.

... But I'm not sure how this is used instead of your phone camera...? still have to aim with my phone, which defeats the purpose of being remote. I can see how it would come in handy for selfies so you won't accidentally capture your finger on accident while trying hold the phone and take the shot with the same hand, but the view finder image is skewed and takes skewed pics. Also delayed image in view finder, which dev does mention in description. Great concept. Would love to see updates.

I'm looking forward to future improvements. When my S5 is locked w/ the screen off and I try to start it up, it continuously re-boots my Gear Fit. Lots of fun to play w/ though.

Nice to have... Image on Gear Fit is smaller than it could be... view finder on the Gear fit would really make this app fantastic.. can u really not make the view finder available, even if poor quality... app no longer dissapearing from app connect.. great.

I like the idea of this app and am hoping I get some feedback because maybe I am not doing something right. I need to know what to do to be able to preview or even view the taken photo. Is it just my file location? Would love to be able to activate the video option.

X70%
by X####:

On Galaxy Note 3, it works well. Would be nice to have a sound option when the picture is taken. To improve: Pictures do not show up in folder right away. We need to reboot to see them.

Does not use native camera application, preview is messed up. Keeps crashing not sure if front camera can b used.

X70%
by X####:

Better to use the default camera app on phone or use the running camera app on phone for more functionality/filters. Plus the preview frame is square and preview image are stretched makes everyone doubtful on the outcome. Also the taken pics on phone app cannot be clicked to view (that's why i said better to use default phone camera app)

Choose location to save file (solved), but can't save pic in card // apps dissapear after restart phone (solved) // please change preview picture from square to rectangular // can't see the taken picture in gallery after shot, except restart the phone first // apps in handset not automatic quit after quit apps in gear fit and vice versa // just a suggestion, why don't you make this apps that can run, or launch, or take shot from handset default camera? // KitKat 4.4.2 - Galaxy Grand 2

Needs live view. Very buggy.

by D####:

But I got a few suggestions for future versions. There needs to be a camera shutter sound. Currently there is no way to tell if the picture was taken other than to look at the Gear Fit, which can result in some weird pictures. Also, a simple view finder on the Fit would be perfect. Even if it's one that simply sends a picture of what the phone is looking at every few seconds.
