WiFi File Transfer - IP Messenger ( IPMSG ) is an app which can share messages/files/folders to other IPMSG devices(computers/tablets/smart phones) on the same local(WiFi) network. You no longer need Wires to transfer your music or videos across your devices.

FEATURES
• Send or receive multiple files/folders to other IP Message Devices on the same WiFi network
• Encrypted Messages(For Gingerbread and Up)
• Detects other IP Message devices on your Wifi Network(Donut and up)
• Supports any kind of Local network including tethered ones.
• Runs as a background service
• Shows File transfer progress in the Notification bar.
• Can transfer files between phones at higher speeds than any BlueTooth transfer.(You just have to create an AdHoc Network on one phone and connect to it from the other)
NOTE
• In order to use this app, your phone and other IP Message devices(Phones,Computers or tablets) need to be on the same local area (or wlan) network.
• IPMSG uses port 2425 for TCP and UDP Communication. If this port is already in use by some other application, then IPMSG would fail.
• Make sure that you have read the IPMSG tutorial(http://coderplus.com/2012/12/ipmsg-for-android/) before you report any issues.
****Important****
If you get Save Failed error, check if the sender's Firewall is blocking the TCP connection.

I like this app but I just need someone to tell me how to save the file which i sent it through my pc. I received the msg but when I clicked a folder as to the save file; it just opens the file instead. I donno how to save it

This app is what I have been looking for. Simple and small. Today I came across a limitation in the app. Android 5.1 does not grant write access on sd card unless the app asks for it and the user confirms. But while trying to save the received file to sd card, ipmsg doesn't ask for access and simply fails the write operation. So there is no way of saving the file directly to the card. Please fix.

Love the clean and simple UI. Very functional and an effective anti dote to bloatware like whatsapp and other messengers. A n update with manageable chat history would be most welcome. Thanks to the developer.

I am using ip msg on my laptop from last 4 years. Ip msg for my phone its really cool. It really deserve 5 rating. Its too small. A suggestion please add some features like whatsup you guys can really beat such apps.

Tried sending a 60k file to another device, stopped at 71%. It's free, I appreciate the effort, but it didn't work for me.
