Better and better. Early adopter and even though I'm in the middle of nowhere, coverage is better than adequate. New improvements has given me confidence to post a positive review. Battery life is good to great based on other products. A++++ on recognition on importance of pet security, tracking and health. Holding back a star for temperature tracking originally in the specification for the device. Appreciate all of the hard work.

This is a disposable product. There is no way to replace the rechargeable battery once it cannot hold a charge anymore. Buyer beware. Also, before you purchase, remember that the tracker is only tracked within range of an active Iota Base unit. DO NOT trust their online coverage map as it is out of date and not updated with accurate info. Their Terms of Service is copy/pasted from FitBit, so their code is probably just as daft

Coverage of my homebase is pretty good! Works great to track my cat and see where she goes. Sometimes it is a little slow with updates of where she is when I am trying to find her. Would be nice to be able to adjust activity goal and not be constantly informed that it works even better with bluetooth turned on... Collar adapter for my cat is not the most comfortable for her, there are quite sharp edges on it and it makes the device even bulkier.

Software improvements have made iota into a great tracker! I have two cats and trust fully that I can always find them when they wander to far from home. The company is fast to respond to a few issues I initially had when I bought the unit in its kickstarter stage.

Got a test unit and it works pretty good. With more bases popping up it works even better. The recent update to add more features might have killed battery life. Seems like I'm always recharging it.

I use these to track my canopies in case of a cutaway (Skydiving). They work amazingly. They are made for dogs but have so many other applications such as tracking children or other things. I highly recommend them!

It's awesome to track our pups without paying for data services. Coverage is good in SF due to early adopters in the area.

Excellent product. I live in a rural area and the coverage is multiple km (miles). Often test when walking dogs and results are spot on after roughly a minute to get GPS reading.

Not perfect but they keep making improvements and adding features.

This product has alot of potential if features are expanded: need to be able to set a geofence anywhere and not just at the base station. This app has recently started killing my phone battery. It's the number 1 app in battery consumption. On my s7 edge running nougat. Keep making these improvements! Like the tracker so far.

Update: Ver2 s/w appears to be tracking faster. Also, location error reduced by quite a bit. Average location error displayed in the app is approximately 40 foot radius but running two tests on 7 trackers shows an average error of about 10 to 15 feet. Pretty good in my opinion.. One tracker appeared once 5 to 10 feet outside of the blue error circle but eventually corrected itself.

This device should've remained in testing. I was excited to find one that works without cell coverage but I'm extremely disappointed to find out just how slow this thing is to locate the transponders. It doesn't do me any good if I have to wait several minutes to get an old location of the tracker. Sometimes the trackers will be next to the base station or just a few yards away and it still takes several minutes to locate. I want real time locating

So far so good here. I'm excited to finally receive and try this out and so far I've been impressed with functionality and ease of use.

If it weren't for the other reviewer on here mentioning the lengthy app update process I'd have thought it was not working as well. A little more verbosity with the update status would be nice. Also, as mentioned previously...please change this app so that it doesn't take liberties with my Bluetooth radio. I leave it enabled for a reason and it's beyond annoying to have a 3rd party app screwing with that. Edit: This app is a bit of a roller coaster for me. It kept screwing with my BT radio and was really frustrating, but once everything is set up it seems to leave it alone, which is much appreciated. Getting everything set up was fairly painless, just required a little patience. Once everything was set up it took a few minutes to update the iota FW, and now seems to be working quite well. I also wish there was some sort of live coverage map included in the app so that I'd know how useful it will be to me.

App registration requires a phone number to proceed. After placing random numbers and logging in to the app, the ability to change numbers is non-existent. Why do you need it in the first place? And why do you need more permissions than necessary?

Still working on getting it setup, but it is automatically disabling my Bluetooth even though I leave it enable for my smart watch... Really annoying. Also should make it clear that only 2.4ghz networks are supported when selecting a network for the homebase. Will update when software updates finish. Update: They work! The update process is very frustrating. You don't really know if it's happening and it just takes a bit too long. You only get a notification when it's done. Before that, it just seems that they are broken. They seem to work functionally, do wish they had a bit more precision. Ring function works well. Will probably have to get a few more. Also would be nice if there was a coverage map so I could see if there are nearby homebases other than just my own
