وتخضع لأحكام قانون الشركات العامة رقم (22) لسنة 1997 وقانون تنظيم أعمال التأمين رقم (10) لسنة 2005.
يبلغ رأسمال الشركة المدفوع مليار دينار عراقي.
بموجب قانون(12) لسنة 2009, أقساط التأمين معفاة من الضريبة كالأتي:

.أقساط التأمين على الحياة لحد مبلغ مليوني دينار .

. أقساط التأمين على الممتلكات لحد مبلغ مليون دينار
