Update your contour first. Once that is done go to your "settings" on your phone. Then click on your "bluetooth". Run the scan and click on whatever you named your contour. Make sure you have the contour app open while doing this, and it will connect everytime. Ta-da! Tired of seeing horrible reviews from people who can't use some simple problem solving skills.

I have an Samsung S3, which I paired to the Contour +2. After following the directions, it worked great out of the box. I got a second one, but it didn't pair with my camera, but it took great video. That is all I needed for a second camera. I may send it back for repairs.

I use this on a Samsung S lll and have never had any problems. It connected for me the first time every time 2 months ago. I cannot for the life of me understand why ppl are having problems. Send me your phone and I'll get it to work :-) The GoPro app doesn't allow you to view live recording, Contour does

Can be helpful with setting up shots.. and changing settings. EXCEPT for the bug I found: the setting values differ between the PC Storyteller app and this Android app. They state the settings are different from each other... and I dont know what one is telling the truth.

Not only do their camera's suck but their customer service is garbage. After the USB port came loose in my camera, Contour told me to just buy another one. That's the worst CS I have ever had. Gopro's function better and have better CS. Going with them from now on.

If you were able to view and delete video files from the camera using the app I could give 4 or 5 stars... contour can do better than this.

I used this app for a long time to do exactly what it was supposed to do, use it as a view finder. After not using it for about 3 weeks I tried using it again in prep for a climbing event I'm going to and was unable to use it for its primary function as the view finder. Both my phone and tablet are able to find the Bluetooth but the app can't seem to do its job and find it. I'll probably switch to something better in the near future and discourage others from using this product.

Works great on both devices once you get used to it. I only wish it was still supported. The folks at Contour screwed up a good thing. I don't recommend due to no support.

I have absolutely loved this app for using my contour +2 have never had a problem in the past 2 years I have used my camera! And I had the app on 2 different phones took a little to get used to to begin with but have had a blast with it

I have a Contour+2. It's such an expensive camera and I'm extremely disappointed that this feature never works. It never pairs with my Android device and is extremely frustrating when I'm trying to get footage doing sports or I'm out and about. Seriously I get a better connection and clearer image from a £23 Chinese action camera I bought off eBay, as it connects through its own Wi-Fi, not Bluetooth. Poor effort.

not sure if it's the software, hardware or both at fault, but connecting android devices (for me, galaxy s2, s3, note 10.1) is pretty hopeless. in the extremely rare cases the bt connection works, the remote functionality is annoyingly limited. perhaps time to upgrade to a gopro hero3 black edition...

Really pleased to discover the app works with my original Roam flashed with Roam 2 firmware (version 2.16). Connected camera to my Samsung Galaxy S6 Edge via a USB OTG cable. Allows me to change camera settings, view recorded view and delete if required. Has breathed new life in to my Contour Roam.

Bluetooth connectivity with Android 4.4.2 and Contour GPS (F/W v1.20.15) NEEDS WORK! This is the ONLY sequence that allows me to connect via BT to my Android phone: 1. Android: Unpair ALL PAIRED DEVICES 2. Android: Turn BT Off, then On 3. Contour GPS: Turn On 4. ContourGPS: Turn BT on (hold top BT button down 5 secs and release) 5. Android: When "Contour GPS" appears as an AVAILABLE DEVICE, select it and IMMEDIATELY (while still in the process of PAIRING): 6. Android: Start Contour Connect Contour Connect is now connected to Android via BT. ie. It seems that the Contour Connect software does not PAIR the BT devices correctly - you need to initiate PAIRing manually for it to work. Other than this, which is REALLY, REALLY, REALLY annoying, the software works great.

I have two Contour +2 cameras. I have tried both and no way will they connect. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled, I have double checked the cameras software-no use both will do nothing using this. ONE STAR is one to many for this junk.

used to be able to use the app on my old droid charge. now, after i have updated firmware (actually havent seen a new update in years) and reinstalled the app all i can do is pair with the camera. wont work on the charge and wont work on galaxy S4. it will attempt to connect then say no camera detected. get your chit together contour. after i copy over the .bin file the whole press bluetooth button, power on and wait for flashing red lights thing doesnt happen. the unit is powered on but nothing happens. step 10 in maually installing FW fails.

to ever one it das work great !! 1. the first things is to clean your phone up !!! Using CCLEANER it the best cleaner out there !! 2. clean up your phone then reboot it, and clean it again, then reboot again 3. then download the app contour ones you download and have it installed, reboot your cell phone ! 4. then go to your setting on your cell phone, then go to your bluetooth setting and make sure it on, if it not on trun it on !! 5. then go in to bluetooth, setting on your cell phone ! and make your cell phone can be seen by the cam !!!!!!! make sure the cam is on and your cell is still on the bluetoolth screen on your cell, then cam and hold down the bluetooth for about 5 to 10 sec then click on on your cell phone scan, it will find it, give it some time u may have to do it 2 or 3 time it will find it 6 then you will see it show up on your bluetooth screen, then click on it, it will paired with the phone 7. then trun on the contour app follow the screen, as they say it .then it will load up it works on samsung PHONES phone android 4.1.2 JELLY_BEAN AND ON samsung PHONES S'6 BOTH WORK GREAT ! This app is fantastic. After initially set up correctly once it connects over and over again flawlessly. And the video quality is surprisingly good for Bluetooth streaming. Cant wait till the next update. Who knows what the contour engineers could add to this. I can think of a couple grand ideas. Keep up the great work and keep on recording! You only live this life one time and that should be enough! Do it right the first time and you'll fall in love forever!

Contour made a great camera with awful software support. It's obvious they can't rebound after closing doors few years back. It's a 50/50 chance software works on phone and computer. I've owned my contour for over 2 years and get frustrated every attempt to use the app. Trust my my phone is in great condition for the people saying clean your phone up!? S7edge here. Sad guess I'm in the market for a Garmin Sony or gopro.

I really like my contour +2 but this application needs some serious work. The mic settings on my computer show up to level 59 though that may not even be right but in this app on my galaxy s3 it only shows to level 42. The # is visible on the app if changed on the pc but if you change it in the app it will not let you go passed 42... that is very annoying as at times I need to make adjustments on the fly but can't because the app doesn't allow the adjustments tk work.

There is no denying that this app needs work but as for me on my HTC One m8 I have no issues connecting and using the app.

I downloaded the app to my HTC1X. I have used this phone with my Contour+ with little problems. I had to uninstall the app and re-install it. However I am unable to move the app to the shortcut plus it won't pair with the cameras. But I won't give up because I know it will work. I have faith in Contour. I now have 4 cameras, the oldest is a Model 1300 HD1080P, Contour+ and 2 Contour+2s. I won my 1st Contour in Aug. 2011 from Contour. I still enjoy them. I do like this app. It would make this easier if it didn't annoy me so much. Its automatically starts when I turn or restart my phone. Also it can take up to 10 mins to find my camera which drains power on my phone and camera. All said and done it is very useful when its running and good fun. The camera is what's its all about really and that's perfect.

Will not connect tried all the suggestions after an hour of total frustration I can safely say by a gopro

Works perfect For my application as a combat cam. on helmet and weapon mounted. And useful as a tactical viewing cam to watch real time observations when placed in an area within 20 meters of device. Afghan. Iraq. Thank you contour. App and cam served in the USA military. Never stepped off with out it.

Bluetooth setup was easy from box no issues to my galaxy note 3 .had a contour before so I know the quality is there

Connects fine. Just be sure to pair your mobile device and camera before you attempt to run the app.

Camera can't be found via Bluetooth. All firmware is latest version. Most files end up corrupt too. Do not recommend.

Newest firmware finally got it to find my camera once (contour+2) and it hasn't worked or connected ever again.

I bought Contour Roam3 which looks great but the bluetooth is not a setting available on the Roam3, no Storyteller for Linux OS... Not cool!

Borrowed the contour gps from work. I was really excited to use it, until i found out just how crappy it and the app are. I've spent hours trying to set it up to no avail. I've reformatted the card dozens of times. Uninstalled and reinstalled the app. I thought i had it working, i took the camera to my local hill, everything was going good until i got home. The only video i got was my first chairlift ride, everything after was corrupt. Just say no to contour.

I have used this camera with my old galaxy s3 and just loaded it to my new galaxy 5s sport and my Bluetooth linked right away without any issues. this camera works great and mounts so much better then the go pro. Sorry to see the company gone.

After updating the firmware on my camera this works perfectly on both my nexus 7 and lg phone.

Doesn't seem to work. I have a Contour GPS and am having absolutely no luck. Updated the FW and downloaded the latest App. I did read the reviews before I purchased the camera and well, thought it would be OK. Guess I should have listened to the hundred of negative comments on here.

It took me a little bit to figure it out, but once I did, it works perfectly. You must have the Bluetooth on and the two paired for it to work on your phone. You must have the Bluetooth off in order to connect your camera to the computer and view your videos if you wish. Or, just take the SD card out and view them that way. Either way, it works perfectly. Love it. Can't wait to put it to use, too. Oh, make sure the battery on your phone is up if you're going to use the App much. Just one of those normal things to look out for no matter what you're doing.

It works fine to change the setting with out having to unmount the Camara, it would really be great if you could playback video you've taken like on the GoPro app.

If you update everything and follow directions it works really well. Only reason I won't give it 5 stars is I can't watch the videos I've recorded from my phone. This would make the app a million times better!

It won't let me connect my contour+ to my HTC one. Please fix it!
