About My Daily Plate

Track your eating, hit your goals, and focus on your success, all in one easy-to-use app. Inspired by the USDA's MyPlate icon, My Daily Plate makes eating right easy and fun by letting you focus on the five food groups. Leave the calorie counting to us.

Trainers love My Daily Plate for the export feature that emails your progress right to them, and users love the positive focus on what you should eat, rather than what you shouldn’t. Both love the simple Today’s Plate home screen, which shows your daily goals and progress in one colorful glance.

With this easy, user-friendly app, there is no typing, no keyboard, no data entry required. With a few simple taps, you enter your food and track your success.

We help you focus on the bigger picture of nutrition- eating the right portions of the right foods –so that calorie maintenance naturally occurs. There are no categories for foods that fall outside of these groups (i.e. junk food), because those foods do not contribute to your daily requirements and overall nutrition goals, which is what we’re focused on.

It’s not only about what’s healthy, but how much. All too often, people looking to eat right, eat wrong, erring on the side of too much protein, too few fruits, or out of proportion portions. With this app, you can clearly and simply see whether or not you are eating enough fruits, vegetables, protein, grains and dairy, and can adjust your next meal accordingly.

The rewards are both instant and long-term!

Start thinking about what’s significantly contributing to your nutritional needs rather than trying to track all the bad food you eat. Rather than feeling guilty about your bad choices each day, feel proud of and track your good choices using the My Daily Plate app.

My Daily Plate has four sections:

TODAY’S PLATE (My Plate)
- Filling your plate at each meal is quick and easy. Just tap the food group, item, and quantity.
- The plate clears itself at midnight so you can start fresh the next morning.
- A healthy way to monitor everything you eat in the course of a day.
- Enter the water you drink in your preferred unit of measurement, but see equivalent amounts in other units.

MY PROGRESS
- Track your progress visually instead of deciphering lots of figures.
- Check and see how you did the previous day.
- Get an average of progress of the last 7 days.
- Get an overall average of the recorded days since the date of your first entry.
- View your daily average calories.

HISTORY
- Export your data to a CSV file (comma delimited) and send to your personal trainer or dietician.
- Review your eating habits on a specific day.
- Edit any existing entry.
- Add a previous entry you forgot to make.

SETTINGS
- View the daily calorie goal recommended by the USDA based on your profile information.
- Set your daily calorie goal based on your preference or personal trainer/dietician’s guidance.
- Set your preferred units of measurement for water intake. (fl oz, mL, L, pt, c)
- Enable/disable the alert message when you reach a specific daily goal.
- Delete all the entries in your database to wipe the slate clean and start again.

Simple yet brilliant no counting... a larger food data base and UK one would be great plus the option to input mixed food groups like battered fish etc but still giving this five stars simply because of its brilliant idea.. I hope subsequent updates will make this app even better than it is keep up the good work :)

Its great - Tells me if I haven't eaten enough of a good group. Only thing is it doesn't have junk food so the calorie count I think is under represented EG there is no chocolate so I can't enter I ate all the sugar

I like the idea of visually filling the plate. I think there is a lot more to add to the database though. I couldn't find any spread/butter products under dairy. It would help to have a search function. I will try to use this for the next few days and run it along side my other food tracking app. This has a great deal of potential to be a higher rated app

Easy to use for those of us battling eating disorders and need to track our meal plans.

Enjoy the simple user friendly app. There are more food choices though, it would be nice if we had a bigger list. Option to add food, quantity. Love the water gauge.

Wish it let me miscellaneous foods in there too. But i enjoy how easy it is and that it already helped me lose 2 pounds this week!

It doesn't show if you go over the limit in groups. And the food list is short. Needs option to add foods.

I really like the functionality of the app but I think there's room for improvement. I've seen complaints with the app having a short food list and I agree with it. However rather than make the list longer, I think there should be an option where if you don't see what you ate on the list, you should be able to create your own entry that describes what it was exactly, the amount you ate of it, and the calories (rather than using the presets on the app). So for example, if I ate a Zucchini muffin, I can describe that it was apart of the vegetable group and the grains group. I could also state the portion and the estimated calories. The second suggestion would be to add a section for desserts and alcohol. While those groups may not be included in the My Plate, it would be nice to be able to record that because they do contain calories!

This app has the potential to be awesome if.....you expand the food list, allow users to add food entries if not found with description, add more calorie options (i.e was looking for 1500 calorie for personal goal, not found). Usable but still need more. Would love to give 5 star rating when the upgrades are made.

Great app. Counts nothing but servings of healthy food! I like that I can quickly add a serving and see if I'm meeting goal each day. Fill my plate and I'm done. Simple! We don't eat processed foods at home, so the list is great too. HEY DEV? Can you add additional users? My 9yo son has dietary needs/restrictions and this is a great way to help him be aware, and to eat/drink enough. To check his day, i have to delete mine! A faster way to clear entries or a day (esp. for planning ahead) would be great too.

Needs longer food list. Can't go back and add food for yesterday's meal or a week ago or the next day. Basically you can only enter the meal for the day of.
