What are users saying about Hurricane - American Red Cross

T70%
by T####:

can you fix the map overlays, there are so many markers it makes the app crash, could you maybe break shelters up by state and let the user decide the overlays they want? Or add a setup walk through when you first install the app?

K70%
by K####:

Says hurricane Nate has been and currently is a Cat 5?! Where is this data coming from? Clearly wrong. I reported it hours ago and it's still the same. And we're supposed to rely on Red Cross? :( bummed. I've liked this app for a while now. Hope they fix it

K70%
by K####:

Uh... It says Hurricane Nate will make landfall as a "Cat 5 with 80mph winds". Contradicting itself.

Not good

K70%
by K####:

I just downloaded the app today which worked great. I'm trying to open it to show someone how much liked it and now it's saying it can't download the hurrican tracker and to check my internet connection which nothing is wrong with it. If this keeps up there is no use on downloading it. Every time I open it now its keeps saying the same thing. I'm disappointed

K70%
by K####:

Whenever I open this app, especially when I go into the tracker section, a few apps close or stop working and my phone becomes instantly laggy. The list of apps I've seen stop, force close, or something like that is: -Lux -Launcher3 (the edited Pixel launcher) -Light Flow -Play Store -Google Play Services Also, no way to remove the red crosses icon? I don't need to see all of them to slow my phone down and to prevent me from seeing Irma's predicted path

C70%
by C####:

Downloaded this to help with Harvey and the app is so complicated I can't even figure it out.. PUT IT ON THE FRONT PAGE OF THE APP SO PEOPLE CAN CLICK TO DONATE OR SOMETHING.

K70%
by K####:

I have downloaded this app to say the following; Red Cross doesn't help people. It steals donations. They couldn't care less about natural disasters except for the fact that they make money off of any that comes their way. Delete this app and look for alternatives.

K70%
by K####:

Eh. There's no way to take off all the Red Cross shelter icons on the map?? Using the satelite or radar view is useless since the RC markers obliterate everything. Sheesh.

K70%
by K####:

Waste of time. Just says 3 alerts in your area. There's no way to find out what the alerts are with this free version.

K70%
by K####:

I live in Florida which is soon to be hit by Irma and this app provides no warning or information about this hurricane.

K70%
by K####:

Can't see anything because you can't turn off the shelter icons. Worst.

K70%
by K####:

Sux, can't see anything, wanted to track Irma but all I can see is dozens of shelters, no way to turn them off and see hurricane info

LAME to borderline useless app on a Obama smartphone

I only downloaded this app to write this review, then uninstall. I'll happily tell u what I think? No, I'll happily tell u what I kno!! Ppl, DO NOT DONATE TO THE RED CROSS!! Just saw a documentary on "Where Does Your $ Go". Well the so-called Red Cross keeps most of it. They claim part of it is for the next disaster. The Japan Tsunami, ppl r still wait'g for help, the Haitian disaster, they sent 25? portable houses? & then forgotten about. (u got'ta c Lisa Ling's? documentary on this charity, broke my ♡) They showed 5 diff disasters & what the RC does to help out. Not much for the millions we give. (My sister's house was fire bombed by mistake. Lost everything. Had just moved in. No friends, new city, good family of 5. RC helped w/2 days n a chzy 1 rm motel, $100 voucher for the Salvation Army & $50 cash) By the time show was over, I wanted to jump thru the tv & punch the smirk off that man's face!! I can still c him sit'g there try'g to look caring & sincere & say'g they keep part of the $ for the... & if there is'nt 1 for years? Their bank acct just keeps get'g bigger & we keep pour'g more in. Please ppl, we need an honest Charity that actually helps! Red Cross is NOT 1 of'em! Now I'm happily uninstall'g!

I should be in a hurricane warning (I'm in Florida) but apparently according to this app my warning ended at 1030 this morning

K70%

It doesn't update nor show any of the maps in track section. Can't trust to buy or donate.

K70%

When looking at the map all I see are red pins for red Cross, just put a red dot.

I love this app because it tells you if your loved ones are ok and not hurt or in danger

It's ridiculous how bad the notifications are every second. You have to put notifications on/off in the settings. I'm uninstalling just because of the ridiculously annoying notification. Great app otherwise

P70%
by P####:

The lack of scales on the map, make the app useless. Is the heavy rain an inch an hour, or ten inches an hour?!? The lack of scales makes the maps, just pretty designs that don't mean anything.

U70%
by U####:

This is a good hurricane tracking app which is what I wanted. But the notification are ridiculously overdone and there is no setting to disable some or all notifications and there is no way to dismiss a warning so that I don't get it every 15 minutes for the next 2 hours. And this is a hurricane app so why are you pushing flood and tornado warnings to my phone without giving me the ability to set what I want and don't want.
