I really like the keyboard the slide is very accurate and I've used swype, swiftkey, goKeyboard and Kiikeyboard. Things I love: Can grow/shrink the keyboard. Shortcuts from sliding from the bottom left key. Space bar placement is slightly to the right which makes for easier use. The customization of the vibration and other saying which would otherwise annoy. Save your email address to recall using the shortcut menu is fantastic... Saves so much time. Problems: It doesn't recognize some password fields

I bought this keyboard ages ago, before swipe was around much. It's good if I'm going slow. If I know what I'm going to say or have a long word to spell there's a lag between first letter and second. It causes the word I actually get to be something far off what I wanted. If this was fixed I'd be able to go back to loving it. Until then it's still good. A worthy purchase. sometimes I'd rather just type stuff out then deal with the slight lag ...

26 Aug 2014. Knock, knock anyone there. Is this keyboard being supported? 19 March 2013: Slide keeps suggesting the wrong words and lags. Changing rating for now whilst I wait for the next upgrade that fixes the speed and correctly works out word slide. ---- Swype beta takes almost 26mb of precious space. Swiftkey and Swiftkey flow beta does not work in every instance. SlideIT does it all. Just needs a number keypad and a quick way to move the cursor.

1. I wish this keyboard had a dedicated number row on top just like the native Samsung keyboard does in Galaxy S4. Or at least have the option for it. 2. I also wish it could predict upcoming words based on the user's previous writings just like the native Samsung keyboard does in S4. For example, S4 keyboard knows that at the end of my writings, after I write "Thank", it automatically brings up "you" and then brings up comma, my first name, and my last name. Or at least have the option for it.

It was working great, until I got a new phone with Android 7. Now everytime I send a text message, email, or anything that requires the keyboard, once I send the message, the keyboard app crashes. I have submitted this multiple times to support, but no response to date, nor has there been any version upgrade to this app. My rating was a 5 for the past versions, but I've had to lower it to a 2 do to the constant crashes. It has actually crashed 3 times while I've tried to write this review. Hope they get it fixed quick, because this is a really good app and has the potential to be great again. Oh, and I have the paid version too, not the free version.

Like it quite a lot, using for Arabic and English, easy switching. I have an LG Intuition, so resizing keyboard was essential, though resize is proportional, thus makes letters small. Lots of neat shortcuts, trying to learn them. Still haven't figured out one-letter words like a and I -should I always drag to space bar for them? Edit: Arrow keys always there = great. Consider adding Home and End in the blank keys?

Pros: Customizable dictionary: Add or remove any word, even one with apostrophes at the beginning or end, with the tap of a button. Secondary keyboard customization: Select which alternate symbol keyboards you want, and their order. Cons: Auto-spacing: Inputs spaces before hyphens. Skins: Existing keyboard skins are boring. I used the Skin Customizer to create some cool skins, but using them makes the keyboard crash at random times. Prediction: Predicted words in the top bar are rarely worth looking at.

I've been using SlideIt for some time but it's just not very smooth these days. My phone came with Swype, but I haven't really used it. Been trying out Google's Keyboard (not even available in my country); & it's sad to say that both these keyboards feel smoother - of course the feature set is limited in comparison. I would say "less is more" (at least in the case of Google Keyboard), but it isn't here. I don't want to sacrifice anything, I just want SlideIt back, but Google will work for now.

It used to work quite well, but not anymore. Since I've had it on my S III it crashes once out of every four uses when I go online. It jams up and slows me down. Spell check is pretty bad. And it's guessing my next word is the worst! I'm shopping for a replacement as soon as I'm done working this review.

Loved this app on my two previous phones (HTC Droid Incredible series). Doesn't work very well on my new LG G3 - can be laggy and unresponsive, and voice typing is unreliable - it often fails to connect to the voice recognition service. I have switched to the LG keyboard for now, which, though clumsy and less feature rich, is more reliable on this hardware. Hope to be able to switch back soon.

Three years with it now, and was by far the best keyboard I've used. Fast and accurate. Many many features. But... The voice detect won't work in Portuguese, however: it still tries to interpret English. And it crashes sometimes. I emailed support a couple of times but never received a reply. So losing one star now. I'm now using Touch Pal.

Still remains best in field for features and stability. It is like working in a well-thought-out workspace. The functions beyond typing are easy to find & use and not fussy. I believe the Devs actually live with and use their own product before releasing to us! OK bye now.

Updated for 2014, love how smooth it is on Android. Particularly appreciate user discretion updates: Numbers screen does not revert back to letters when using symbols. Ability to use CAPS in Slide mode when spelling, i.e. state abbreviations, etc. No need to go ABC for this. Many more, great job! *Using bubblegum SlideIT

Awesome keyboard!! There are a few quirks, though. For instance, on my LG Optimus 9, it will not swipe the word "what" under any circumstance. I've edited the dictionary, added the word to my personal dictionary... Nothing works, whatsoever. Since it's possible that it's a problem with my phone itself, it doesn't warrant removing a star. Perhaps, a developer could look into it.

Very good and convenient keyboard, but it is consume significant part of battery power running some kind of "update" service even when my phone is offline and data is off. Extra consumption is at least +20% a day. Stopping this service prevent keyboard to work.

R70%
by R####:

I bought the app after trying the free version. I guess the skin customizer was what influenced my choice. For the last year this app has frustrated me. It inserts spaces mid-word, the swipe accuracy is infuriatingly INaccurate, and unless I disable some features, which don't really help, the keyboard can't keep up with my input. It hasn't been updated in a while either. Just improve swipe so it stops giving horrible suggestions and I'll give 5 stars.

Really good most of the time. Sometimes it gets annoying and does weird stuff, but overall its worth it & has awesome themes. Pretty decent. Touch pal used to b better, but then they fd it up last year and it keeps getting worse and worse. So now this one seems to b working much better, plus u can't beat 99¢! Also I LOVE all the cool themes available!

R70%
by R####:

This app is a great app in app many way, with so many great features I love, and I love the powerful options, (Dvorak), etc. The autocorrect is definitely the important weak limbo in the chain though. And symbols can be tricky to enter with correct spacing (e.g. "90's"). Wishing it had an "emoji" option. Sometimes it crashes too. I'm looking forward to updates =)

This use to be the best keyboard for Android, and the available themes are incredible! I debated for months about the wisdom of getting the paid version, and finally caved and got it. I used to love it, recommended it to everyone. Now, you're supposed to de-select features so the keyboard works properly? It constantly un-sets itself on the language & input settings. This is very aggravating. Unfortunately, I already paid for it, so threatening to uninstall will not help me in any way. Please fix it!

This keyboard cents store and some. (Gets worse and worse) I have no problems whatsoever with swype and I'm a veteran Twitter(texter). Shouldn't have to collect (correct) so many words is (it's) very frustrating and annoying. Wish I could get my moment (money) back today. I tried (typed) this how the keyboard did it send (and) ill leave it this was (way) (are my fixes) 12 -31: everything I do the keyboard stops working. An error pops up and it takes a minute before I can use it Uninstalling

I just updated to Lollipop. I've been using and loving SlideIT for five years! Now suddenly it won't work at all. Looked at recent comments and found it hasn't been supported in several years, and other users are all in the same boat. DON'T TRY THIS APP! I'm going to miss it.

R70%
by R####:

I mean, I love the convenience of adding custom words to the dictionary and being able to dock the arrows to the top... But if I have to manually correct the word "three" to "the" EVERY SINGLE TIME I want to type the word... that's freaking ridiculous. Do you know how many times a person can use the word "the" in a day that the keyboard can NEVER get right? This should be able to lean typing habits!

R70%
by R####:

I used this keyboard for years. Loved its resize ability, and that it had optional arrow keys, and much other optimization. I even tried my hand at a skin and thought for sure I'd try again someday. But then I upgraded to Marshmallow... and that caused Crash City. Reinstalled... and the predictions bar was usually blank, until I clicked on it, and even that worked unpredictably. I couldn't deal with that... so I've moved on. It sucks having to learn a new keyboard app, but broken sucks too.

Just had an update yesterday... And swype seems to be deteriorating.... Not working as nicely as it used to :-( what is the issue?? Used to love this app.... Since the last update... Suggested words is screwed up and swiping just isn't the same!

R70%
by R####:

Used to be fantastic. Lately though it seems to get words wrong more and more often on both my phone and tablet. I also am SO frustrated by a new automatic spacing feature that adds a space and capitalizes everything after each period (typing email addresses for example) which I cannot turn off.... I have tried every combination of settings possible. It's time to move on to a new keyboard.

Wish they would update some GUI. Theme are OK. But compared with other keyboard it's good but certain keyboard apps leave it in the dust. So its good but can be better. (swiftkey is an app that's constantly updating making it more functional and nice to use)

R70%
by R####:

There are many other keyboards out there that I have used and I have to say that this one is my favorite. SlideIT is much more feature rich than its competitors as it includes the ability to add your own words to the dictionary, quick buttons to do things like input your email address with one key swipe, and much more. I would definitely recommend SlideIT to replace any keyboard.

I had this on my Archos 70, my old cell, currently my Galaxy S3 and Galaxy Tab 2 7.0. This has become so terribly unresponsive that I can't use it anymore. Not sure what happened, but it does seem rather recent. I've had to move on from this app until it can be fixed. Sad. 5-star rating to a 1-star in one update...

I've always loved this app but since changing to my new galaxy note 3, it's been noticeable that the Samsung slide keyboard is much better at working out what I've just 'typed'. Since accuracy is important, with regret, slideit has now gone. Update..... Tried again but crashed 4 times in 5 minutes! & while I'm on last updated August 2013!!! Really? That's the best they can do?!!

Ok, when I first got this app I feel in love. Been using it for years on different phones and even suggested it to friends. Now, after the update, I'm starting to get very upset. I used to be able to go very fast, now I can barely slide without it freezing from letter to letter. Please update or something. LG Spectrum 2

Finally a customizable keyboard that is expandable! Worth the money paid I only wish it had better error correction and learning from my words. For example, I often hit close to the right keys but yet words but even remotely close are displayed, using the exact same typing on Google's keyboard, it works exactly as I wanted. Not sure how I feel about this keyboard but since I already paid for it, I'll keep trying to use it. I had to write this with Google's keyboard (swiping) otherwise it wouldn't be legible

I got this a couple of years ago & loved it, but then my phone updated to the latest android & now it freezes & closes. Also no emoticons like similar apps, but it's ok... One other thing you can't use voice unless you're on Wireless data

K70%

Really liked it but then the next word prediction area stopped working completely and just shows up blank since the most recent update. Also would really like a way to customize the dictionary,so I can delete suggested words! Please add this feature! There are simply too many words that I never use that I'd like to ditch to help with accuracy of the words I DO use. Thanks! Will come back and re-rate in a month if improvements are made.

I've been a loyal slideit user for a few years. For some reason it's been slowing down, sometimes the line won't register and I end up typing half the time. Thought it was my phone struggling but downloaded Googles version and it's really slick. Sort it out and I'll probably come back.

K70%

Slide IT does a better job than Swiftkey of word recognition, but I am sticking with Swiftkey for only one reason. The Swiftkey keyboard has arrow keys allowing perfect placement of the cursor and that is a critical tool for writing and especially editing anything longer than a paragraph. But I'll check back here again because the ultimate would be a Slide IT keyboard that also has cursor control keys, like Swiftkey.

Open your flipping settings for christ sake, the recent updates have provided us with a lot of advanced features that come with default settings. You need to read the update logs and explore the new settings menus like a responsible app user. Apps with the complexity and customization of SlideIt will not work the way you expect them to if you do not take a look at the settings and choose what does and doesn't work for you. This app, I promise, will do what you want if you mold it correctly. It probably took

Not optimal grouping of symbols. Underscore and more and less signs (<>) are not so rare, it must be easier to reach them. E.g. why not to add underscore to long press on 'p' or 'm'? Except from this, SlideIT is perfect!
