Is it possible to use root to force turning Location services ON? I always have it off, and would like the app to automatically turn it on when tracking the phone.

Will give for stars for now. I like the fact I can make it a system application unlike Airdroid. Will rate 5 if it works if I ever have to use it in a real situation. +1

Exactly what I was looking for - remotely locate, lock, and/or wipe a lost phone via SMS only. No other extraneous features, no need to sign up for an account or maintain a data connection for the app to work. Will be buying the donate version. Well done.

-- EDIT -- Dev responded to me directly and found the issue. Will be fixing soon. -- EDIT -- I think this is a great app in principle. It is clean and easy to use, and provides a great service for free. However, I found a bug that almost forced me to factory reset my Samsung GS3. I installed the app and wanted to test the lock function. I put in a custom password and turned it on. I then sent myself the custom text. It locked my phone, and I put in my password, which unlocked it. After half a second, it locked again, prompting the same password. The only way to keep it from locking was to continue pressing buttons. As soon as nothing was pressed, it would lock again. I changed my security preferences to "No lock security," but it still locked every second. I was about to factory reset my phone when I held the phone button which brought up the task manager. From there I was able to end aeGis's administrator access, which finally stopped the locking. I emailed the developer with my issue. Hopefully there is a solution. In the meantime, I am uninstalling the app.

If you could add option that received SMS on target phone doesn't show in incoming messages that would be awesome.

If you previously used Aegis and you open it later and you get prompted for a password next time you open the app, you can hour the back button to get around the password.

Love everything about this security app and maybe this is just my being nit picky but the every other day updates are getting annoying. But damned if I don't love the added security.

Does exactly what it says it does! No bugs, nothing. Great work dev :)

I love this app. It does what other apps do minus the price! You can have your phone on the "slide" option for security and then text the keyword followed by your password and boom! It's protected by a passcode now. The one suggestion I do have is to not convert GPS coordinates to street address or include both or even better, how about an option? The process of geocoding a GPS address to street address can lead to many errors. Also I haven't tested it but what if I need to locate inside a mall or a park?

But no way to activate on wifi only tablets, as there is no SMS service. Google voice integration or some other activation method would be useful.

I lost my Note2 few days back in a bus..... After 2-3 mins of getting stolen, I started sending tens of messages to locate, wipe or everything but thief switched my cell off and none of the msg got delivered. Dont get dependent on this. before this event, I lost hundreds of INRs many times when it started sending location messages in night to the backup number I saved. I am disappointed. I even couldn't get any message if thief has changed the SIM card. No trace of my NOTE2 till now..... :(

But it's good to know I can depend on it.

Been searching for this sort of app for a while. SMS only activation (I do not trust online control of my phone) and the most important features (wipe, track...).
