Just got a new tablet & won't open at all. When will it catch up to Marshmallow???? The UK version has been fixed & now works. What's wrong with the US publishers. At least the UK team answered the reviews. Nothing from US people. Seriously????

Marshmallow on Note 5...crashes on launch as others have reported. Their digital support department says they have been told that android devices are not going to be supported. In addition, the website displays an ad to subscribe which does not go away, effectively preventing digital views on the Web using a mobile browser. This company is not ready for the digital era.

This app does not work on Android Marshmallow and above (6.0+). Actually, it will crash endlessly until it is uninstalled. This requires me to periodically check the app store for updates, but there haven't been any for almost two years. Remove your app from the store or update it!

Terrible customer service. Good magazine absolutely horrible technology. Flat out lies on website about having a Kindle app. Should be investigated by attorney general's in all ,50 states for fraud.

I have been a subscriber for many years and I enjoyed reading The Week on my phone and tablet. About 6 months ago the app stopped working on both. It was useless so I removed it from both. Today I thought I would try again. I installed the app on my phone and tablet but unfortunately the result was the same. The app would not even open on either device. I have an LG G4 phone and LG Gpad tablet. Does anyone else have the same problem? Is The Week doing anything to correct the app?

Y70%
by Y####:

Love the mag. Hate the non-functional app . It appears that the developers don't care. Crashes even when the app isn't being opened. Uninstaller. Recommend that you don't even try this until and unless it's fixed.

Y70%
by Y####:

After numerous notes to customer service, it is apparent there is no intention to fix the app to work on Android devices. Have enjoyed the magazine for years and loved having it available on my tablet, particularly when traveling. I still love the publication but am extremely disappointed that they have no interest in making the app work on Android devices. Customer service tells me they fully support Apple devices, however.

This application has not been updated for Android since 11/2014. With the roll-out of Android Marshmallow, it always crashes on start. It does the same thing in Android N Beta. I have pure Nexus devices (Nexus 6, Nexus 6P, and Nexus 9) and the app doesn't work on any of them. To the best of my recollection, it works fine under Android Lollipop. Please advise if there is a BETA version; I am happy to be a guinea pig in order to test it. For the Week App itself, I would give it a 5 star rating, but this issue needs to be corrected first.

My only complaint about getting The Week was that I couldn't read it fast enough. The next issue would come before I was done with the previous one. With it on my phone I can read it during any spare moment I have. It is simple, well designed, and easy to use. A must-have for subscribers of The Week.

Y70%
by Y####:

Zero updates in several years. App makers have no interest in improving app even though it constantly pesters you to review app even after you have. Hundreds of people share the same complaint for at least 2 years and no response. I only have one complaint and that is that the app never remembers my place and each time I return to the week I have to keep scrolling through to try and figure out where I've left off. Otherwise the app works well and content is easy to read.

Y70%
by Y####:

But it doesn't remember anything about my previous session. It also does not remember who I am, even though it says I am still logged in. So, I have to log out and log back in so it stops trying to get me to buy the issue. EDITED thought I would try again and see if the problems were fixed. Silly me. Now it crashes on startup and won't run at all. This is on a Galaxy S5.

by Y####:

This ap wont install on year old operating systems and customer service is near nonexistent. In addition the ap is cumbersome and buggy on the few supported devices. No refund offered for unusable subscription. Save your money and stick w the print version.

Y70%
by Y####:

This app never works for more than two days on the Android version. They say they're working on a fix but it never seems to get fixed. Maybe they need to hire new programmers because none of my other apps crap out every time the OS updates. Good magazine, terrible app. To bad. It's the only reason I subscribe. I'll probably just let my subscription expire.

Y70%
by Y####:

It doesn't work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 phone; crashes upon opening. However, it works fine on my Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 12.2. Go figure. As for content, organization, and ease of navigation, it's a pretty decent app. Strange that they've not updated it in two years!

Y70%
by Y####:

Didn't work at all. It won't load on android tablet running marshmallow. I love taking my subscription with me on my wife's iPad, but I'm frustrated that it doesn't work on my tablet. Help! This is a wonderful app on ios, I hope they'll update the app for my device. Uninstalling again...

Y70%
by Y####:

Too bad this app does not work with Marshmallow. Did not like the layout on Google Newsstand. Had to cancel my subscription after the app stopped working. Will resubscribe if they ever decide to fix it. Magazine itself is great. Strange that they choose to lose money rather than fixing this.

Practically every week I have to fight with the system to get the new edition on my Kindle. The old version would download the new issue and I could read it on either Kindle. I haven't been able the read it on my new tablet which is a Verizon something or other.

Y70%
by Y####:

This was a fantastic publication and the app was great, but with the release of Android Marshmallow it seems they couldn't be bothered to update the application any longer. It now crashes on startup on every Android. Very poor.

Y70%
by Y####:

Great news source... App sucks. 4 years old and woefully out of sync with new OS versions. Fails repeatedly to download latest version and refuses to let you solve the problem..can't work around. Doesn't work at all with latest hardware or Android versions. Love the product but thinking I may have to cancel my subscription or go back to snail mail...

Quit working on galaxy operating system version 6.0. Customer service says I don't have access to digital version. But I still can read it on my Nexus. AP just quits, not saying not authorized!

Y70%

I'd like to rate this app, but every time I try to open it, I get a message saying "Unfortunately, The Week stopped working. Let me know if you release an app that works on Marshmallow.

Acknowledged as known issue by phone CSR and no info on a fix. I have digital only subscription from The Week not Google Play thus no means to access magazine. Was told could read on web but when login just get TOC and subscription offers. Fix this or refund me.

By now, it's pretty obvious the owners of The Week have no intention of updating this app to work with Android 6. Maybe this fall ... right before the release of 7, only to break again? Here's a better idea: why not give up on the custom app and give subscribers access to the Play Newstand app version?

C70%
by C####:

The Android version has been broken for months. I've tried contacting TW's staff, but no one contacts me. They're still offering digital access, so why isn't this deceptive advertising?

F70%

This app has steadily improved since its inception. Now the only delay is as it loads an issue, then it allows fast movement between stories and sections. A great way to read The Week!

X70%

The app will not open. I purchased the magazine and digital editions, which was an additional fee. The site said there is an Android compatible app. I expect to be able o access something that I purchased. The Android problem seems to be common. Rip-off alert!

Will not work after upgrade to Marshmallow on Nexus 6. And I just changed my subscription to digital only! OLD: For some reason this is a faster read than paper. And the daily briefing is a nice feature.

Y70%
by Y####:

Every time I tried to download an issue if wouldn't give me an error message and not advise what the error is. Then decide that there's no error and download the issue.... Slightly frustrating.

Y70%

Very easy to use with Android 5.1, works like paging through a paper magazine. It would be perfect if it remembered your place. As it is now it's like using a paper magazine without the ability to dog ear your place.

App should return to where you left off and/or to user defined bookmark rather than starting at beginning. Fatal flaw. Please fix.

finally got it to download and work and thus can cancel my subscription from newstand...edit: and then upgraded to marshmallow which crashes the app back to newsstand I go.

I love the Week and the material is laid out nicely for tablet reading. The problem is that issues frequently won't download to my tablet, and the ap crashes a lot. Dont cancel your print subscription if you get this ap

As soon as I tap on the icon, the screen goes white for a second and then a dialog pops up that says, "Unfortunately, The Week US has stopped." That's it! And I'm a paying subscriber! I'm on a Nexus 9.

The Week is an outstanding magazine, but the app won't open on Nexus 5x. Every time I try to open it, I get a message saying unfortunately the Week US had stopped. Please fix!!

Love that it provides a brief summary of each article so you can decide if you want to read it or not. Only suggestion is to improve the links to the article-sometimes they are incorrect.

Had to uninstall. Not only doesn't work. It keeps trying to load and fail. Used to love this app. 5 stars easy but doesn't work on my Nexus 6P with Android 6. Hope to get it back soon.

O70%
by O####:

This app should be dropped from the Play Store or marked as Android 6 incompatible. The amount of time since 6's release indicates a complete lack of interest on the magazine's part to participate in the Android ecosystem going forward. Truly shameful and short-sighted. But prior to latest OS update, this app worked 5-star nicely.
