세상에는 보고싶어도 보지못하는, 알고 싶어도 알지 못하는 사람들이 많이 있습니다. 우리는 정보의 왜곡과 차별에 의해 소외되기도 또 누군가를 소외시키기도 합니다.

지식정보사회에서 정보는 곧 힘입니다. 전세계 최고의 인터넷 속도, 스마트폰 사용률을 자랑하고 지금도 국제사회에서 정보화기술을 리드하고 있는 대한민국은 그러나 정보의 평등에 있어서는 인색합니다.

기술발전의 혜택은 누구에게나 그리고 차별없이 누릴 수 있어야 합니다.

그것은 기술이 '특정'한 사람을 이롭게 하는 것이 아니라 모두를 이롭게 하는 것이기 때문입니다.


OSIM은 눈은 보이지 않지만 마음안에 많은 것을 담고 있는 시각장애인을 위해 개발된 공익적 어플리케이션 개발 프로젝트의 일환입니다

장애인 관련 뉴스를 비롯, 시정뉴스, 지역 뉴스를 생생하고 빠르게 그리고 차별없이 전달합니다.

광주광역시 시각장애인 뉴스 어플리케이션 OSIM 은 음성인식을 통해 사용자가 원하는 정보에 접근하고 음성지원기능을 통해 뉴스를 읽어줍니다.
