What are users saying about Sound@home for Volumio

C70%
by C####:

Doesn't work with volumio 2.0 and appears to be abandoned by the author. Too bad since it may have been a viable alternative to Sonos.

C70%
by C####:

Buggy, wouldn't connect to my pi

H70%
by H####:

Screen needs resizing for s3 and actual track playing needs to be shown not just an album cover, good effort though.

C70%
by C####:

Great job!

Q70%
by Q####:

Nice UI but could not use the arrow button to move back up through folders or file lists etc, so back to Volumios own web UI for me.

M70%
by M####:

Awful app, looks horrid and killed my RPi running volumio on connection needing me to restart it. uninstalled within minutes.

S70%
by S####:

Great app and makes control intuitive. Found it easier to setup ip address manually, very good when up and running. App icon is ugly but you can easily change that.

U70%
by U####:

Great user interface to Rune Audio (running on a pi and IQaudio dac) on my Moto G. Took a bit of setting up - would be easier if the DAC interface was selectable as part of the set-up rather than needing a change to a config file on the SD card. A suggestion that would make it a lot easier to browse a large music library: when searching the library by artist, why does it then just list all that artist's tracks, rather than then showing the albums by that artist?

S70%
by S####:

Has the basic features, even if clumsily implemented. No basic level controls, such as repeat song or album.

S70%
by S####:

Best app

Q70%

What the ???? Configured a room.. then it wiped out all my network settings in Volumio. Thanks. Had to go in and reset them all. It never got passed the 'configuring' stage even after 5 minutes.

This is the best complement for the Volumio boxes spread in your network or house.

M70%

although i used to use volumio, i recently switched to runeaudio. even though sound@home is not made for rune audio. i am extremely happy that it works with rune audio without any mods.

Once configured works well. Android does not do name resolution. So you need to type the IP in. Not the fault of the app! I don't understand the 1 star reviews, it's a free app. It works and does the job, it costs you nothing to try. No adverts too. Stupid free loaders. This app is worth more that it's current star rating. Try it out, not for you just move on. Dropping a 1 star for a free app is disgraceful.

Haven't gave this much of a trial, but I think it's pimp it doesn't ring while playing music. Screw the talking and one sonar tone is straightforward blocks repeat caller's the best I can think of. Hahaha.

After install tried to configure ir by wifi entered details and saw that my rpi with volumio started to react and after it was fully unusable totally lost internet on wifi and error on DATA MAY HAVE BEEN LOST from FIQ. Do NOT install it on volumio 1.55 on rpi! DO NOT use it with wifi!

S70%
by S####:

This is a replacement for volumino's web interface. Changes you make here will be made directly to your volumino setup. In particular, the automatic settings step of the setup procedure can bork your volumino setup.

Y70%

I can't stand the icon. I know this may be picky but I constantly switch the icon to a Volumio Logo with Nova Launcher. Other than that great app and something that really makes the Volumio experience a lot better.

If you do this it would be completely awesome! People could rock out and not miss phone calls! With high powered systems vibrate doesn't even work to let you know you have a call because the subs vibrate everything anyway. The best way to implement it would be to have it quickly reduce the volume to zero then pause playback.. then once the phone call is complete resume play and gradually increase volume to where it was before the call. I'd give it 5 stars if it did this!

Very messy UI at the moment but I am sure it will get better. However I seem to have trouble playing albums. Is that even possible on here? It seems to be geared towards making playlists. I dont want playlists. I want to be able to tap on the first track of an album and it play all the way through but it doesn't. I have to tap on each track after the first one finishes.

This app is great. It can be used to create an excellent multiroom setup. Sure there are some bits that need improved, but my music library has never been more at my fingertips than now! Thank you digx!

T70%

Great App, I had some issues with the App freezing and crashing on my Nexus 4 and 7, this update has sorted that. EDIT : Great new UI looks a lot cleaner and easier to use, especially on smaller devices. I like the choice between landscape and portrait.

Where is the much lauded sync capability? No mention in the manual no option in any menu? This is a deal breaker. I can live with how ugly this app is if it could only sync multiple rooms.

C70%
by C####:

But it's a bit buggy and needs some serious UI work

Z70%

Works fine on my nexus 7 so far. Very responsive (much better than volumio web UI). Big minus is the layout/design! Will stay with it for now hoping the look will improve!

Can't detect either of my 2 volumio's & missing menu options - e.g. only shows room with 1 dev, can't detect dev, if manual entry - can input ipaddr but not room & can't proceed any further. Tried on 2 different phones with same result - didn't work for me. To Digx: I've emailed you various screen captures. Hope it helps. Btw, the 2 phones that I tested on were Android 4.3 & 4.1.1.

Q70%

App is the only volumio compatible software I am aware of and it works pretty well controlling the raspberry pi. It just feels a bit clunky. It would be much nicer if the look and feel was closer to the volumio web interface.

Q70%

Re screen resize needed for s3. Cannt see lan setup.

Great app. Extends Volumio's convenience. I will buy gone when I finalise my volumio setup. Thanks
