GPS Waypoints Navigator

I have not had a chance to take this app out in the field & try it out. But, from what I've seen & read the app seems to be what I've been looking for. I was looking for a app to replace Spyglass that I had on my iPhone, since they didn't have a app that would work on my Android phone????????. This seems to be "The One" + a little bit more! I will amend this review after trying this app out in the field. I have not taking this out in the field yet. But I would say if what would make this app make me give it a five-star would be if I could import and export the files from one device to another or be able to sync the app with an online account! I have spoken / emails developers about them sitting at the site where I can be synced with the aunt and they say that they're not going to do that. I told them it would be very beneficial just like with Huntstand, which have their app setup so that you can log onto your Huntstand account and sync between the app and the website which would make this truly a top if not the top notch app for navigation in the woods for hunting and fishing, excetera excetera!

I have been deep in the woods miles from my car. I bring up the app in a clearing (gps) and is says go this way. So I do it. A half mile later turned around and list again, I do the same thing. And so on. And so on. LOW AND BEHOLD THRU THE TREES IS THE CAR!

This App is the best GPS tool ever for most simple reason! It is simple! Straight to the point! Can record or draw your own tracks! Runs on very little memory, flawless offline maps! I feel safe with this app! One recommendation is when your recording your trails live! Its nice to have all the stat info (speeds/elevation changes aswell) but still works* i can take screen shot of stats in compass mode if i want to keep track of data! Thanks for the most elegant of GPS map tools ever!!

I tried recording a trail. All seemed right. Time. Distance but in the end after I stopped the record the screen was just blank. Tried downloading a map. It took a long time to download but again the screen was blank.

I 've used this app for about 1 year. I like the way you can add photos & notes at the Waypoints. It takes a bit of time to understand how to use the app but it is worth it. Thanks to the Developer! Keep up the good work.

Excellent! One request: let me download the map data while viewing a trail.

My review centers on the use of this app off the roadways and off the beaten path. I use it in conjunction with other apps in this role but it is by far my "go to favourite" I am involved in metal detecting and although retired, my pre retirement skillset soon saw me being called on in the disposal of unexploded munitions in Australia's largest WWII training area (now slowly being developed for housing) that other detectorists find while looking for artifacts. It is not uncommon for me to receive a SMS with a link containing co ordinates of a mortar round or a stash of grenades or similar and a reqest for prompt arrival. Likewise it is not uncommon for me to hike many km into unbroken bushland from my car with an extensive kit to reach the site. The moment I leave the car behind this fine app is running. Being not so young I take breaks often in the Australian heat and often have to double back on my path to get around unpassable terrain. I use this app to navigate to the location, store the location of every item discovered and the amount of times this app has allowed me to backtrack to a rest area to retrieve a piece of equipment mistakenly left behind in dense bush defies belief. Currently it is running at a 100% batting average after 2 years plus. At the end of the job with proper use it guides me back to the car via the shortest route. It's so good I have converted the SGT head of the army UXO team whom I obviously call for the stuff too hard or unstable to a user. It's also brilliant for any simple hiker or explorer or detectorist. It has more functions than I will ever use. When I went looking for a waypointing app I knew exactly what I wanted, chose carefully and have never regretted the choice. As a rule I don't pay for full version apps. I paid for this crying "hurry up and take my money!" Then again, this is way to good to be called an mere app. It is true engineered software. It is highly featured and so brings me too my only niggle which is as an old guy I did have a preference for the simpler interface of the older versions but I can only counter by saying that as such a comprehensive package it does have a learning curve. It is effort well spent to follow that curve. Long review? ..... Worthy product. In closing I will say I have no doubt this app has improved safety and even saved lives. Perhaps even my own. Beyond highly recommended.

Has all relevant map/GPS info and tools, great selection of maps, useful for around the neighborhood to around the world. Offline maps, navigation and trails great.

I hike in the mountains a lot and this app is the best.

So far great app. We are fencing contractors and this app is perfect for marking waypoints in the middle of nowhere

Cool application

I suppose it would be okay as a trail marker and compass for a hiker. I was hoping to use it while fishing to mark waypoints on local lakes with sonar depth and contour lines maps. It only allows me to mark a meaningless spot on a google map that contains no other information other than it shows the water as solid blue color. Since there is no depth charts for my local lakes, this app is useless, and a waste of money to purchase it. The developer states i could use it on lake erie.

It is easy to put in specific GPS coordinates and navigate there as well as adding waypoints on the fly!!

App worked great on my old phone. Need phone it won't display the maps.

This is an amazing app! It works perfectly... doing everything claimed. The support provided by DS Software is the best tech support I've ever experienced. I had a couple of questions on two different occasions, and they replied the same day each time. And my questions were answered in easy to understand detail. This is probably the best value I've ever had for an app! I can go anywhere now and easily find my way with no internet or phone service, be it hiking, on the water, or driving. No more getting turned around and lost while kayaking! Love this app, and love the support!

I've been happily using this app for a couple of years and found it excellent. Recently I noticed that when I record a track, the app saves the positions, but doesn't tag them with the time. Is this an option I haven't found yet? It would be a nice addition, so that I could use the track for geotagging. Thanks.

Did not work well with North, West coordinates like normal geocaching... so frustrated. Would never recomend this app to a novice. Thank good ness I called a friend who told me of a free app that did exactly what I needed.

I was using a competing GPS app that had some additional features but I switched to this one. This one uses about 50% less battery and is a bit easier to use. This is a great, easy to use app. The grid layout is very nice. This interface is very workable but I'd like to see a white interface that looks a bit more modern. I also would like to see the "Auto Center" to default to "on" instead of "off". Replacing the dots with arrows that show the direction taken on a trail would be nice. This is a useful, under-rated app.

Used to love it, but after an update the maps would only show in landscape, then the maps stopped showing all together. The downloaded vector maps still worked properly so I uninstalled and reinstalled, all of the maps still will not show and now the vector maps only work in landscape. This is on a galaxy s8.

Great little app it has some good potentials. One thing I'd like to see is the ability to import waypoints into folders. Not just the default one.

Use it mostly for Marine navigation, would be more practical if NOAA nautical chart is selectable when creating trails rather than satellite or topographic maps.

Using 1 minute of arc on the earth = 6000 ft = 1 nautical mile is the simplest way to understand and best accuracy for plotting a position or scaling off an object on a map for sailing walking flying and driving. This makes 1 second of arc 100ft and does not interfere with use of statute miles or kilometers for engineering and construction. Degrees Minutes (or Miles nautical) and Seconds DMS. John.

I want a refund, this app just shuts down when I press the menu button!!! I have uninstalled and reinstalled with no solution! I feel like I was ripped off!
