Horrible update of a decent app. Awful, awful, awful. Did I say Awful?

K70%
by K####:

Although I can pair the switch the app will not control it. Expensive equipment to be let down by the app.

K70%
by K####:

Real piece of rubbish, why can they not do something right

H70%

Samsung S8+ keeps crashing on opening the app. Utterly useless.

Simply doesn't work, tried everything, Mac address good, green light flashes, but doesn't connect

M70%
by M####:

It's an okay app would be nice if you could make a widget for my home screen so I don't have to go in the app

K70%
by K####:

Since the new app design installed, I can no longer use it to control anything, Alexa app says okay but nothing happens, and under settings it says that 0 timers and 0 events "on device" which isn't true. At least the old app worked...now everything just doesn't work anymore

Updated June 2017, one awful app replaced with a complete redesign. Forced to log in again (badly designed and glitchy). New layout is cluttered, some things unreadable because of tiny fonts and low contrast. On/off swapped around. This company has zero understanding of it's users. They should dedicate time to user testing instead of responding to negative reviews.

Huge improvement! Much slicker look and clearer too. Previous review: Whilst this works perfectly well, events are a bit tricky to get your head around. I notice that the iPhone app is significantly nicer looking than the Android version too. Hoping to see a better looking version soon.

Well over a year late, the new app lands for android. Lots of interesting changes to investigate and a massive improvement over the old app though already two update in a couple of days. Some features don't appear to work yet or the logic needs appreciating. An option to remove the defocused background picture would be nice.

My Lightwave Android app disappeared a few days ago. I found it in my apps folder and moved it back to it's original place. That's when I saw it had been updated, but not very well. I had to log in again, and then I started noticing that my timer events were no longer happening (all lights on at dusk, etc.). I tried changing the timers, but when I click 'update', nothing happens, and the old setting remains. I went to the browser app and the timers were turned off, had days not included, had other things wrong, so I corrected everything and it saved OK. But the Android app still shows the wrong information, with no way to fix it. Other than that, I like the new interface, but I also didn't mind the old one.

Newest update seems to be a complete redesign, and my word is it worth it. Looks much more modern, finally caught up to the idiotphone app. Some complained about having to log in again, but that's no biggie. If that's the worst thing, I think we will be ok. Excellent work. Very pleased with this new look and the feel and speed.

by K####:

Not all links work. Had to relink some devices to my phone. I'm unable to add new devices ie radiator values and heating controls

K70%
by K####:

Well - in 2015 we were promised Android would get the app update in 2016. It's here in June 2017. All of my timed events no longer work. If I got to settings > link settings ... Everything except location states "currently not available". Resaving doesn't fix anything. Creating events again doesn't fix anything. So bizarre.

K70%
by K####:

At last the new app is out! It is now a lot easier to use and is also more reliable although I would only rate it 90% for reliability. Not totally satisfactory when used for security systems.

Q70%

The newer version of Android app still missing some basic functions. (1) iOS version allow user to sync locally stored events to the link. Android still missing this feature (2) the link current status is not correctly reflected. E.g. how many devices have been registered with link. How many events stores on the link (3) for some reason after android phone been reset, the event no longer works properly. E.g. screen roller won't stop after 20 seconds How was this tested before release? Please fix asap Feature request: Can you allow individual mobile device been unregistered from Link?

Hello, LightwaveRF I have recently bought the 3-way relay to control garden lighting and water feature. Your solution is not only convenient but reliable. I do have a question however. Rather than a simple press of ON/OFF could any kind of visual feedback be provided that does indeed contain the status of ON/OFF for each of the 3 devices? As of now, I can't currently tell what devices are on when I'm away from home.

K70%
by K####:

Very small font. Cannot change in settings. Unacceptable. No new features but less intuitive, harder to navigate. Worse than the previous version. I wish I could revert to the old app. I regret deeply the automated upgrade function on my phone now..

Back buton closes app in stead of going back to previous screen- realy anoing!!! - still not fixed! Nest pairing is gone from settings! How come??? Can't deauthorize devices,(only12 allowed to have)??? it says must be on same network to deauthorize but dose not work do now I can't add my new device. No feedback for is it in local or remote mode. Peffetic, you are 1 step forward 2 steps back...

Was ok before update. Now can't refresh individual thermometers when they don't automatically refresh when opened in the "Heating" section. Also can only permanently update thermometer timers online not via app on phone. App always reverts to on line settings. Phone does update when log off/on again but that's rather frustrating! Used to be able to download settings from server (ie from the webapp) via phone app, which had now gone from the update.

Constantly crashes on S8. A house full of Lightwaverf, relays everywhere, now everytime i need to control anything i have to use my pc. Technical support dont know what to do to help me.....great. £2000 invested in this tech, and now its useless!!!!

K70%
by K####:

I can t use the app anymore. Impossible to program anything. This is ridiculous. New update made everything useless and un-programable. None of the timers can be saved on the network. This is so unprofessional.. !!

K70%
by K####:

This app is garbage. It's laggy, the menus don't work properly, nothing does what you expect it to do. And, what's more, it hooks into the back button and locks you into the app. Pressing back does NOT exit out of the app, but it does nothing. I'm fairly certain this is against the Android terms and guidelines for use. Fix this. Seriously. The equipment is great. The software is rubbish.

K70%
by K####:

Frequently fails and does not remember my log in details. Frustrating to use. The makers don't seem to be responding to user complaints.

H70%
by H####:

The new update is horrible. Slow and unresponsive. Awkward to select times with any precision unless you have tiny fingers. Awkward to select dimmer brightness in percentages with any precision with a slider that will let you have 68%,or 76% but not *70%*. Setting up events and timers is really quite unintuitive, adding actions undefined and then going back to edit them, or do it a very slow way. Delay settings/random not clear at all. Slow and clunky to use. Crashes when I leave the app and return to it later. Can't seem to add new events remotely. Horrid horrid. Gets more bizarre and unusable with every update. Will look into a Domoticz box to replace this mess.

Since last update app just force closes on my S8, app is now unusable.

After £2500 spent on lightwave, new phone - Samsung S8 renders it unusable. After calling lightwave for help, they are oblivious to this problem .......i feel conned!!

Web app and mobile apps don't seem to sync but seems to work ok. Keeps going in to remote mode dispite my phone being on Wi-Fi.

Crashes all the time on my Samsung s8

Overall a huge improvement over the previous app. How ever I have a couple of questions for the developers. 1. When will this App get the much requested widgets?! 2. Are devices and zones still limited by amount, if so what is that amount. 3. I see you can rename rooms, how can we rename devices? 4. Why does the back button close the app! Thanks

K70%
by K####:

Why do you now need access to the phone? Hidden phone calls??

K70%
by K####:

Does not respect my devices proxy settings and renaming rooms does not work. Energy data is being transferred over unsecured connection.

This app has lost all my settings and for some reason took on different mac address. I checked my lightwaverf account on pc and it's fine there. I have had constant issues with lightwaverf. So fed up I might change to different more reliable home automation.

Appalling update. Don't install. Shocking customer service from their help desk as well. App update has now rendered all of our lighting equipment useless. Customer service were useless. Considering we have installed their equipment in hundreds of properties you might have thought they would be interested. Clearly not. Everything worked fine. Perfect in fact. Then our phones updated the app. Disaster. Hive is looking very appealing now.

Had a problem with remote connection and contacted the tech team. They were excellent in replying and sorting out my problem. Please ask them and give them a chance to help you before you knock them. They are really helpful.

Utter garbage. Heating controls are complete mess. Actually impossible to set it to off. Tired of this app not working properly.

Just tried to activate old WiFi link. Both app and web just sit there asking if I missed the flashing on the link, but link did flash and confirmed Linked OK. All my devices completely unusable!
