About 1040.com Tax Refund Calculator
How it Works
1040.com’s Tax Refund Calculator app helps you quickly estimate your income tax refund. You’ll need to input some basic information about yourself, your income, and any deductions or credits you anticipate. To navigate, drag up or down, or tap the headers at the top to move to each section. If you don’t know exact amounts, feel free to guesstimate.
Sliders are provided for the most likely range of input. To input a value outside the slider range, tap the input field and enter the value using the keypad. You can also tap the ‘Next’ button on the keypad to move to the next field. If you are unsure what to enter in a field, tap the question mark for more information.
Your refund (or balance due) is updated at the top as you input data. To view more detailed results, tap the ‘Results’ header or the down arrow under the refund amount at the top. To return to the input screen, tap the up arrow at the bottom of the results screen, or the back button on your Android device.
If you like the app, please share with your friends. A Share option is available from the menu.
If you have ideas for improvements, please let us know. Use the Feedback option from the menu.
For convenience, the data you enter is stored on the device. You can clear the data at any time by going to the menu and selecting Clear and Start Over.
Internet Connection Required
An Internet connection is required in order to calculate your estimated refund. Why? The calculator is powered by the same tax calculation engine that is used for filing your actual tax return on our website, 1040.com. You can still enter information in the app if you aren’t currently connected; when you regain your connection, you’ll be able to calculate your estimated refund.
We hope you like our app. When you’re ready to file your return, come to 1040.com and let our easy interview help you get the most tax savings available for your tax situation. We guarantee 100% accurate calculations and your maximum refund. Simple federal returns (1040EZ) are always free. If you don’t qualify for a free return, you still don’t pay a penny until you complete your return and are ready to file.
