I have a new phone with android 6.0, now i can see the cost. I only see the KWH (power consume) I used it for my solar panels it works great. I also get the message for a update for the plug. Whe i open it is not a option for a update. Found also a tool on the website but is made for MAC no Windows... Any help or service will give 5* !

The power consumption chart cannot be scaled and for consumers under 1A / 230W is almost unreadable. It does not calculated average or peak power and does not provide any kind of tabulated data. I have a €10 USB power meter which provides more usable information.

Cannot use the app to connect to plug on my Nexus 6. It worked with my Nexus 4 but the app sucks. To set up a schedule of "on" every night at nine and "off" at 6 am i had to create two entries for every day of the week one for 9pm to midnight and another for midnight to 6 am . It would not span midnight. I also had to create 14 entries for a daily schedule. You have to also turn On the schedule for every day of the week! This Software is the ultimate suck. I really wish I had not purchased this plug.

Cant connect to smartplug for initial setup. Will have to troubleshoot more or use iphone. I switched phones and lost all my smartplug settings. No way to save config or login to get back my old settings. fwds u to a website for fw update which requires u to get on a pc and download yet another app to upgrade fw from there. Several other similar hw items like dlink let u upgrade fw from android app.

It's basic, but it works. I wish it would check the firmware instead of just prompting you to update all the time, even if it is up to date. That, and more importantly, I wish you could scale the usage graph so it was easier to read when usage is low. I use it to charge an electric bike and I'd like to see how long it actually takes to charge.

I often get "Unable to connect. no response from plug. Please try again" message (once in 1-2 days) but my home wifi and Internet is working just fine. I have to unplug this device and plug again in order to reconnect it to wifi which is absolutely inconvenient and makes the whole idea of 'smart home' useless. is there a way the plug can automatically reconnect if it loses wifi for some reason?

I like this apps and edimax smart plug and I want to buy more plugs for my entire apartment (it help me set on/off multi-light scheduling ). Unfortunately, it's out of stock in my neighbourhood electronic store. Need to buy it from internet. I will give it 4 out 5 stars because its lack of other features such as voice command, sound sensor, and light sensor. Fortunately, all smartphone equipped with five and more sensors so they only need to upgrade the software to use this features...

Aesthetically not very pleasing and not nice to interact -1; axis scale of graph is unchangeable, some language mistakes -1; Scheduling doesn't work -1. Setup of the plug and remote on/off switch do work.

...needs the ability to copy schedules to another day. Imagine how long it took me to set the following, Turn on for 30 minutes, turn off for 45 minutes and have it do that for 7 days a week.

Initially, the plug I bought did not connect do the internet, it needed a firmware update to get it running. Which was quite hard to perform, as long as the update tool on the edimax website does not find the device. Finally I did it manually using a file I got from the edimax branch in RO (the guy was very supportive, it's important to have at least good support, if the products are poor). Nevertheless, the device is working. There is some latency in the on/off commands (probably due to the cloud connection) and the application crashed a few times during the setup phase .... I guess this is what you get now for the amount spent and in a few years the products will get better.

This has a lot of potential, but the app is still buggy. I really like being able to see the power usage of an appliance from my phone. The setup is easy and well thought out. I want to run a fan outside of my peak energy usage, which would be from 6PM to noon the next day. The scheduler wouldn't allow this, so I had to go from 6pm to midnight, then again from midnight to noon. And I would have to make these changes separately for all 7 days. But after I entered one day, the app says, "schedule is disable" and I can't modify, or even change, the schedule. The graphical usage display is almost useless - it only displays at max scale, 12 kw, which is more than my whole house uses, much less a single plug. So, all the data is just stuck down at the 0 line on the graph. I'm using these plugs to monitor my refridgerator, pond pump, and permanently-on loads that I would want to return to their "on" state after a power outage. Unfortunately, they recover from a power failure in their off state. So, a power glitch would turn off all my always-on appliances. There isn't any way to download your data, either. This needs a lot of work, but it still gives a nice

First of all, the app is slow. There's no other way of saying it! The interface looks like something designed in the 80s by a 10 year old. I'm not expecting anything fancy but common guys... Anyways, design aside (that's not so important), the app has very little functionality. I would love, for instance, to see IFTTT integration as it would make the app at lest 1000 times more intelligent. It has so much potential and it can be so much better if more attention would be poured into it. At least add IFTTT.

The graphs show zero for all days. The app crashes when I reopen it after I left it at the graph view.

If I could have two rules where if it was after a certain time and I entered my house to turn on. That would be sweet. Or, profiles where I can select "movie mode" and it turns off all my lights.

Like some of the other reviews for this app, I also find it buggy. When I first downloaded and installed the app on my Android phone everything worked fine. Later away from home, I tried to turn the device on and the app either doesn't display the on/off toggle for the switch or when it does appear and I try to switch the setting on/off it doesn't react. Technical support is only via email. Seriously thinking about returning the purchase.

Hi. Am I able to remote this Edimax WiFi switch when I'm outside? I want to turn off and on whenever I needed to.

Q70%
by Q####:

it works, but the app is rather crude. e. g you have to enter each days schedule individually as there's no option to drag one days schedule across all weekdays. Also switching off individual schedules is disabled on Lollipop.

Q70%
by Q####:

It's a good app but I wish I can zoom on the usage graph or change its granularity. If your device consumes less than 100w its barely noticeable in the graph even if you switch to 24h view.

... and on top of it I never got it to work. It tells me "couldn't connect to the Internet. Check your router settings." My router works just fine and there's nothing to check. I finally got it to work on another router, but performance over 3G, from a distance, was poor. It only turned a test light bulb on/off correctly every tens time or so. Sorry, I returned the two units as I need them to be reliable. Otherwise, the idea of controlling home appliances via your phone, of course, is brilliant. Just get it to work...

I purchased the edimax plug after being hugely disappointed with a gimmicky performance of Wemo, another automated plug operated with a software programmed into your phone. Signals emitted though a wireless device isn't string enough. Edimax was a second thought only to be completely overrated. Edimax, like the Wemo wireless remote plug cannot be recommended.

The app is very basic, letting you connect and schedule on/off times. Pros: It turns things on and off as scheduled, and can do it remotely. Cons: VERY basic scheduling. No ability to reuse schedule across multiple days (same schedule M/W/F) No cut/paste when programming No non-graphic interface (why can't I type in 06:15-08:30 instead of going through several screens worth of graphics?) No respect for portrait/landscape orientation No random or date based scheduling to handle daylight changes I've been using an inexpensive wall timer up to now, and it has far more capability than this "Smart" plug.
